The New York Jets come to town to face the Cardinals and have the AFC’s offensive player of the week.
The Arizona Cardinals will face the reigning AFC Offensive Player of the Week when they take on the New York Jets at home on Sunday.
Jets receiver Garrett Wilson was named the AFC Offensive Player of the week after he helped the Jets beat the Houston Texans 21-13 last Thursday.
He had nine receptions for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns came in the second half and the last was in the fourth quarter, giving the Jets the lead.
Wilson enters Week 10 as the league’s leader in receptions with 60. He also has 663 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He has had seven straight games catching at least five passes and has at least 90 yards in four of the last five games. Over his last five games, he has 40 catches for 472 yards and four touchdowns.

The newly acquired Browning is behind Jesse Luketa and rookie Xavier Thomas to begin his time with the Cardinals.
The Arizona Cardinals acquired outside linebacker Baron Browning from the Denver Broncos in a trade on Monday. He will have to work his way up in the depth chart.
The team released its Week 10 depth chart on Tuesday as they prepare to play the New York Jets at home. Browning is at the back of the rotation at outside linebacker.
The two starters at outside linebacker are again Zaven Collins on the weak side and Jesse Luketa on the strong side.
Browning is third on the depth chart behind Luketa and rookie Xavier Thomas, while Collins is ahead of Julian Okwara and Victor Dimukeje.
Now, the Cardinals rotate their outside linebackers and they do not play on on only one side. But Browning will have get worked into the rotation for his role.
The Cardinals play the New York Jets this week at home and then have their bye week.
At best, Browning will have a small role this week before a likely increase after the bye week.

The Cardinals will now have to face the duo of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams when they host the Jets in Week 10.
The trade of wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets impacts the Arizona Cardinals and their upcoming schedule.
Adams, who had played in three games this season and has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown, was traded to the Jets, reuniting him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, his former Green Bay Packers teammate. According to multiple reports, Adams was sent to the Jets for a 2025 third-round draft pick that can become a second-round pick.
In five of the last six seasons, Adams has caught more than 100 passes and gained more than 1,100 receiving yards.
How does this impact the Cardinals?
They will host the Jets in Week 10, meaning they will have to face the combo of Rodgers and Adams defensively after they have had a few games to get into rhythm.
It will be yet another challenge for Arizona coming up.

Robert Ulbrich takes over as interim head coach of the Jets. The Cardinals will face the Jets at home in Week 10.
The Arizona Cardinals will face the New York Jets at home in Week 10. They will have a new head coach.
According to multiple reports, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh on the heels of a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London. The Jets are 2-3 this season.
Saleh had a 20-36 record in three seasons and five games into this, his fourth season on the job.
Who replaces him?
Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich was named interim head coach, reported by many.
The Jets will play the Bills at home, the Steelers on the road, the Patriots on the road and the Texans at home in the next four weeks before they face the Cardinals.
Arizona’s coaching staff will have time to see if Ulbrich and the Jets staff do anything differently on the field.

The Cardinals convincingly beat the New York Jets this Sunday, showing signs of a talented team ready to make a playoff push.
The Arizona Cardinals convincingly beat the New York Jets on Sunday 30-10. It was a game they needed to win and were expected to win by a large margin. The win did feel like the Cardinals came to play much more than they did the previous two weeks.
Outside of an interception that was more just a great play by Jets LB Avery Williamson, Kyler Murray looked like himself again. DeAndre Hopkins continued his Offensive Player of the Year campaign by racking up 6 receptions for 131 yards and a score. Murray and Nuk seemingly dialed up the same play- a go route to the far sideline, twice to put the Jets away.
The Victory Monday feels will not be strong this week, as it is expected to be announced that All-Pro OLB Chandler Jones will miss the remainder of the season with a torn bicep. Jones, who has been an iron man for the Cards, is one of the few players that the team cannot afford to lose. Barring a change of direction, Arizona will lose one of its best players as the Cardinals prepare for the much more difficult part of their schedule.
The seemingly rejuvenated Cardinals need to keep momentum rolling and beat the Dallas Cowboys next Monday. Dallas themselves suffered a potentially fatal blow, losing star QB Dak Prescott to an ankle injury in a win over the Giants. The highly anticipated primetime matchup between the Cardinals and Cowboys will be without two of the NFL’s stars. Andy Dalton will serve as the quarterback in Prescott’s absence, who has been a quality starter for many years in his career.
After dropping disappointing games to the Lions and Panthers, the Cardinals sit at 3-2. Beating Dallas puts them at 4-2 heading into a home matchup against the red-hot Seattle Seahawks. That’s in Arizona, by the way, where we all know the Seahawks have had their way in the past few years.
On the topic of potentially losing Chandler Jones for the rest of the year, the Cardinals would be wise to search the market as the trade deadline approaches. The October 29th deadline gives Steve Keim enough time to possibly find some help for the pass-rushing unit. Without Jones, a veteran acquisition appears necessary given the talent in the NFC West (even if it is just a one-year rental).
If all comes to pass, the Cardinals will deeply miss Jones. Still, their rebound effort in New York re-ignites hope that we may see playoff football in the desert.
With back to back losses for the Arizona Cardinals, is it time for them to unleash their 8th overall pick, Isaiah Simmons?
There were plenty of angry reactions from fans following the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 4 loss to the Carolina Panthers. One of them, and perhaps the most logical of the bunch, was questioning the almost non-existent use of 2020 No. 8 overall pick Isaiah Simmons.
Simmons was called for a horse collar tackle on Arizona’s first defensive drive of the season in San Francisco. he was then burnt by RB Raheem Mostert for a 76-yard touchdown. Since then, he has hardly seen the field.
When the Cardinals started off 2-0 and had back-to-back exceptional defensive performances, the benching of Simmons was looked past.
The Cardinals are now 2-2, and are coming off a terrible defensive performance.
The time is now to play Isaiah Simmons.
Despite the recent performance against the Panthers, the Cardinals defense has been reasonably improved since last year, particularly when they had their starting safeties. Still, it is not enough in its current state to compete with the high-flying offenses of the NFC West.
Outside of Budda Baker, the Cards are missing speed and another sideline-to-sideline defender. Simmons fits that bill.
He may not be ready. That much is clear. However, playing practice squad safeties that are consistently getting burnt in coverage is not an acceptable alternative.
Simmons was a standout at Clemson and earned the Butkus Award in 2019. Here’s a quick recap of the last group of players to win that coveted award.
2018- Devin White
2017-Roquan Smith
2016- Reuben Foster
2015- Jaylon Smith
2014- Eric Kendricks
2013- C.J. Mosley
2012- Manti T’eo
2011- Luke Kuechly
2010-Von Miller
Those are some elite NFL players that won the Butkus award in previous years. One would imagine last year’s winner will be pretty good in his own right.
Until the Cardinals defense starts playing well enough to win football games again, Simmons should not be on the bench. His athleticism and ball skills are something this defense could desperately use right now.
The defense needs a spark. Let Simmons be just that.
