Full 7-round Eagles 2023 mock draft: post-NFL scouting combine

Philadelphia stacked up on impact defenders in the Eagles Wire’s latest 2023 NFL mock draft ahead of NFL free agency and post-NFL Scouting Combine

We’re a little less than six days away from the NFL offseason officially starting with the beginning of a new league year on March 15.

With eyes looking towards the start of free agency, Philadelphia is among a few teams with multiple first-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Using a PFF draft simulator and avoiding any trades in this second run-through, the Eagles addressed several needs with their six picks in the selection process.

Eagles land RB Bijan Robinson, DT Calijah Kancey in Todd McShay’s post combine mock draft

The Philadelphia Eagles retool at key positions, landing Bijan Robinson and Calijah Kancey in Todd McShay’s post-scouting combine NFL draft mock

The 2023 NFL draft is fast approaching and even with the Eagles preparing for free agency, scouts within the organization are doing their due diligence on potential prospects.

Thanks to some draft night wizardry from Howie Roseman, the Eagles traded the No. 16 overall pick, No. 19 overall pick, and a 2022 sixth-round pick to the New Orleans Saints for the No. 18 overall pick, a 2022 third-round pick, a 2022 seventh-round pick, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick.

Philadelphia has 19 pending free agents, with nine key contributors on defense set to hit the open market.

20 players who elevated their draft stock at the combine

20 potential #Falcons draft targets who elevated their stock at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up over the weekend and now teams are adjusting their big boards in anticipation of the upcoming NFL draft this April.

While there is no substitute for watching game film, the combine does offer a unique chance to see how the top prospects in the class stack up against one another. This year, we saw several players elevate their draft stock, particularly at the quarterback and cornerback positions.

Here are 20 potential Falcons draft targets who improved their stock at the combine.

2023 NFL mock draft: Anthony Richardson goes to Seahawks at No. 5 overall

In a new post-combine three-round mock draft from Doug Farrar at Touchdown Wire, the Seattle Seahawks take him at No. 5 overall.

Athleticism isn’t everything when it comes to playing the most important position in football. That said, it certainly doesn’t hurt when you’re in the 100th percentile. In case you missed it, Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson set Lucas Oil Stadium on fire Saturday during the quarterback drills at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. He set new QB records in the vertical and long jump, ran a 4.43 40 and wowed observers with his easy-looking long ball. In the end, he had a perfect 10 Relative Athletic Score, adding a cherry on top with a backflip.

Richardson had been going as a late first or early second round pick in most mocks, but after that remarkable performance we should expect to see him taken in the top 10. In a new post-combine three-round mock draft from Doug Farrar at Touchdown Wire, the Seattle Seahawks take him at No. 5 overall. Here’s how the rest of the mock played out for Seattle.

8 winners (Anthony Richardson!) and losers (WR-needy teams) from the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine

It was a BIG weekend for the QBs and one team at the top of the draft. Most of the WRs, not so much.

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is behind us, and with it, another weekend of terrific athletic displays. As always, with the festivities in Indianapolis in the books, we now have set the table for the upcoming NFL Draft in late April.

We saw one raw quarterback prospect break records as he potentially solidified himself as a top-five pick. At the same time, a fellow top QB prospect shot down the idea of playing with one franchise because of an established young star.

Meanwhile, a talented defensive prospect showed off a wingspan comparable to an NBA superstar. And the big boys up front and the fast guys on defense probably made themselves a lot of money by raising their draft stock.

Though, if you’re looking for a receiver — like the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and New York Giants, to name a few franchises — this isn’t a weak receiver class per se. But, with potentially no true blue-chipper, you might be better served to wait and bide your team for an ideal pick in later rounds.

Let’s examine some of the more notable winners and losers from the 2023 NFL combine.

Potential Bengals draft target Calijah Kancey put on a show at the combine

The Bengals could use a Geno Atkins-type player in the middle again.

A Geno Atkins-like player next to DJ Reader would be quite the boon for the Cincinnati Bengals defense right about now.

And looking at the upcoming draft class, one prospect is making his best Atkins impression before likely being taken in the first round.

Pittsburgh’s Calijah Kancey ran a 4.67-second 40-yard dash at 6’1″ and 281 pounds — giving him a time just faster than one posted by a guy named Aaron Donald back in 2014.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah wrote the following while ranking Kancey as the 30th overall prospect in the draft:

“Kancey is a short, compact DT with rare twitch and explosion. He is at his best against the pass. He rockets out of his stance and wins early in the down with quick hands, leverage and a burst to close. He is very sudden to change direction and cross the face of blockers. However, if he doesn’t win early, he struggles to free himself and gets stuck. In the run game, he relies on quickness to shoot gaps and disrupt. His lack of size (6-0, 280) shows up on occasion, with him getting washed right down the line. Overall, I wish he was bigger, but he’s a very dynamic and disruptive presence along the interior.”

Another shorter, “too small” defensive tackle with good burst and abnormal pressure rates during his college days? Geno Atkins.

An interior pass-rusher isn’t the biggest need for the Bengals, especially with so much cash already wrapped up in Reader and B.J. Hill. But these traits and what he could do from Day 1 for the defense would be impossible to ignore if he somehow fell to the end of the first round.

A unanimous All-American, Outland Trophy finalist and now combine standout, Kancey would be one of those “A+” picks if the Bengals were able to make it happen.

2023 NFL Scouting Combine: Biggest winners from Thursday’s workouts

Highlighting the prospects who made themselves money on Day 1 of the NFL Scouting Combine

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine began at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, with edge defenders, defensive tackles and linebackers taking the field.

Here are the prospects who helped their draft stock during Thursday’s testing and on-field workouts:

2023 NFL Combine Winners Day 1: Blazing-fast DTs give the Bears plenty to consider

DL Bryan Bresee looking so smooth headlines our highlights from Day 1 of the Combine.

With questions out of the way, Thursday was put up or shut-up time at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. Day 1 of workouts featured the big boys on the front seven — defensive linemen and linebackers.

Hoo boy did it ever transcend past our initial expectations.

We had an EDGE player running faster than current star professional running backs. A defensive tackle surpassed Aaron Donald (yes, that Aaron Donald) on the 40-yard dash. Oh, and a potential first-round pick went all-in on his “toughness” rating — he tested and passed with flying colors just two days after a sky-high fever.

And that’s just the start.

All of this had to be music to the ears of teams looking for front-seven help near the top of the 2023 NFL Draft. The most noteworthy might be the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 overall pick, but likely won’t stay there for too long.

The league-worst Bears could use an infusion of talent essentially everywhere but quarterback. They’re, how do we put this: good with Justin Fields.

But for a team with the 29th-ranked defense by yardage and the 32nd-ranked unit by Football Outsiders’ DVOA — Chicago had to be salivating watching these larger defenders put on a show. GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus know they can act as kingmakers of sorts this offseason. And whatever ransom of draft picks they get for the top pick could potentially be used on one of the names from our Day 1 winners of the 2023 Combine.

Underwear Olympics: Stock up/stock down from the defensive linemen

Whose stock is soaring and whose is plummeting from the defensive line group?

The NFL Scouting Combine is now in full effect as we have interviews going into day three, but now we have finished one day of testing as well. The defensive linemen, pass rushers, and linebackers kicked off the party in Indianapolis, Indiana as they were the first to take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium. We start our stock watch talking about the big boys as Northwestern’s Adetomiwa Adebawore and Baylor’s Siaki Ika caught eyes for different reasons.

Who else saw their stock rise or sink today as the defensive linemen took the field? We dive into a few names here.

Vikings draft prospects: 8 players that impressed at the combine on Thursday

The first day of the NFL Scouting Combine is in the books and some players did a lot for their draft stock

The NFL Scouting Combine kicked off with a bang on Thursday afternoon by starting with the defensive lineman and linebackers. There was a lot of intrigue with this group, especially at the top.

Alabama EDGE Will Anderson was the only one of the top pass rushers to participate in drills, but there were other first-round talents that ended up showing out in a big way.

Here are the eight players that impressed in the first day of the combine.
