Who is early enrolling at MSU? Find out here:

Spring ball is vastly approaching East Lansing. The importance of spring football is significant, as it will lay the groundwork for the program heading into the summer as well as training camp.

Another key piece of spring ball is getting every new player acclimated to their new school. The importance of this has been amplified by the transfer portal and the immediate impact transfers can make on a program.

Also, if true freshmen want to get on the field, early enrolling and playing spring ball is a major step towards achieving that goal.

Let’s take a look at the 14 players, transfers and freshmen, that are early enrolling at MSU:

Michigan State football lands and signs Georgia CB Caleb Coley

Michigan State lands a commitment and NLI from a previously uncommitted prospect, Caleb Coley, a big-time CB from Georgia.

Michigan State has started the Early National Signing Day with a bang, earning the commitment and NLI signature from Georgia cornerback Caleb Coley.

Coley was a one-time Vanderbilt commit that the Michigan State coaching staff has relentlessly recruited throughout the whole cycle, eventually getting their guy.

Player Profile

Position: Cornerback

Height/Weight: 6’0″/165 pounds

Hometown: Warner Robins, Georgia

High School: Houston County High School

247Sports Composite ranking: 3-Star, No. 412 nationally

Analysis: Coley reminds me of Chuck Brantley a year ago. A little physically undersized, but has all the skills at the cornerback position to make an impact as a freshman. This is a really good get for the Spartans coaching staff, especially because of the weakness the corner spot was this past season. Don’t be surprised if you see Coley opposite of Brantley sometime next season.

The Spartans coaching staff has done a really nice job piecing together their 2022 recruiting class, already holding 20 commitments. When the class is put together this well, it takes some of the drama out of signing day, but it definitely has not taken all the drama away.
