Patrick and Brittany Mahomes dressed up as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for Eras Tour party

QB1 channeled his favorite tight end for the Eras Tour party.

The Eras Tour came to a close on December 8, putting a bow on nearly two years of touring. Taylor Swift performed a remarkable 149 shows across five continents and became the highest-grossing tour in history with over a billion dollars made.

Such an accomplishment deserves a big celebration, and we got photos from an Eras Tour-themed party that some in attendance said was Travis Kelce’s doing. Friends of the couple were in attendance dressed as her Eras.

Kelce’s Kansas City teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany were there, and the duo dressed like the pop star and tight end. Patrick perfectly deployed the top hat and tails look that Kelce executed on stage in London, while Brittany went with a very Fearless dress and “Karma” jacket.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes comments on desire to bring a WNBA team to Kansas City

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes comments on desire to bring a WNBA team to Kansas City | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is confusing his ownership pursuits with a venture into the WNBA. During Thursday’s press conference, he addressed the recent report that he wants a WNBA franchise in Kansas City.

“We want to get basketball to Kansas City in general, and then WNBA and the success that they’ve had these last few seasons; it’s kind of a no-brainer,” said Mahomes. “I mean, to try to get a WNBA team in Kansas City to this fan base, and you see it with if you talk about Kansas University, Kansas basketball, the Chiefs, the city of Kansas City is going to come out, and they’re going to fill the stadium.”

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s report detailed Mahomes’ and his ownership group’s recent interest in a potential WNBA franchise coming to Kansas City after the recent success of the playoff-bound KC Current in the NWSL.

“So it was cool that we were able to get this women’s soccer team here in the (KC) Current. They’re going into the playoffs now, and you see the support that they have,” said Mahomes. “So let’s try to get a WNBA team in here as well, and kind of the same type of ownership group, and they’ve done the current the right way. I want to continue to work with them to take that next step in the WNBA.”

For years, Mahomes has been vocal about attracting more professional sports franchises to Kansas City, including an NBA franchise, for temporary accommodations during the Toronto Raptors’ COVID-19 restrictions season in 2021.

“Kansas City is such a great place for me; it’s a place that I call home, it’s a place that I built a house at, and that I’ll be for a long, long time,” said Mahomes. “So I think being involved in the community as much as possible, and I love sports. I know how much the city loves sports, so let’s bring as many sports in here and showcase how great Kansas City is, not only as a city but the people in the city as well.”

After taking business classes and working with groups to join ownership of several sports franchises, Mahomes hopes his efforts will encourage young girls, including his daughter, to get involved in sports.

“It started early with the Royals and Sporting Kansas City and the Current, and now hopefully, we will get this WNBA team here. It’s for life after football,” said Mahomes. “So I can still make an impact in all sports, and then, that same time, showcase to my daughter that she can follow her dream and go out there next game. Whatever that dream is.”

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes draws interest in WNBA expansion to Kansas City

Could #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes help bring professional basketball back to Kansas City?

According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany could be looking to expand their sports franchise portfolio.

The entrepreneurial couple already owns a stake in the KC Current of the National Women’s Soccer League, the Kansas City Royals, and Sporting KC.

This week, it was reported that the KC Current ownership group, which includes the Chiefs’ star signal-caller, met with the WNBA to discuss bringing an expansion team to Kansas City.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the league is interested in adding franchises, and the KC Current’s ownership group seems to be vying for the deal.

Take a look at Schefter’s report, which was shared on his official Twitter account:

Though no deal seems to be imminent, sports fans in Kansas City have long hoped for basketball’s return to the Show Me State, and Mahomes may be able to deliver if things get serious with the WNBA.

Support from Patrick Mahomes, NFL players welcomed by NWSL

Chiefs Wire’s @EdEastonJr spoke to NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Midge Purce about the support that the NWSL has received from NFL players

The ongoing growth in attention for women’s sports in recent years has been long overdue as support comes in from luminaries across the sports business world.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes serve as co-owners of the NWSL’s K.C. Current and are among the many vocal ownership groups pushing for financial growth and expansion.

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. spoke to defending NWSL champion NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Midge Purce after her panel at the Bloomberg Power Players New York event featured industry leaders at the intersection of sports, business, and technology.

She opened up about having a legendary NFL quarterback as part of the team’s ownership and the power of celebrity investment in the league.

“Eli (Manning) is the best, and I don’t know how else to describe him. He’s been absolutely fantastic,” Purce explained. “I think there is a demand for women’s sports because people recognize there is something to gain by investing in them. That’s always a good thing. It is great that celebrity owners are trying to get in on the deals. I want to see more.”

Purce is sidelined for the rest of this year due to an ACL injury. Purce explained what is needed to propel the league and women’s sports in the United States.

“I think it’s bigger brand deals, sponsorship deals, and media rights contracts,” Purce said.

NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman joined Purce on the Bloomberg panel that day to announce Basketball legend Magic Johnson’s investment in the league with the Washington Spirit.

The Mahomes family made a big splash earlier this season when they opened the first stadium purpose-built exclusively for an NWSL team. The Kansas City community and Chiefs have rallied around the Current, making them a permanent fixture in the sports landscape.

Bloomberg Power Players New York featured guests Steph Curry, Grant Hill, WWE’s Roman Reigns, and other sports business leaders engaging in forward-thinking conversations, forging strategic partnerships, and providing insights to empower you to stay ahead of the game.

Brittany Mahomes slams ‘haters’ on Instagram after apparently liking a Donald Trump post

“To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.”

It’s unclear whether Brittany Mahomes was responding to the backlash she received after the soccer player, model, friend of Taylor Swift and wife of Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes apparently liked a post from Donald Trump recently.

But she had a message on Instagram that she posted in a Story after many people noticed her apparent “like” of a recent message from Trump on the Republication platform as he runs for United States president again.

“I mean honestly,” her post read, “to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

It’s unclear who or what she’s addressing here. But it could be about the backlash she received or not.

Patrick Mahomes donates $5 million to Texas Tech

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes with huge donation to Texas Tech

Patrick Mahomes is giving back to the college that gave him the start toward being the 10th overall draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017.

On Thursday, it was announced Mahomes — and wife Brittany — are donating $5 million to the Campaign for Fearless Champions at Texas Tech.

“When we first launched this campaign, Patrick was only a freshman and now it is fitting that we approach the end of the campaign with a gift of his own,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “We couldn’t be prouder to announce this gift from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. We are so proud of Patrick for all he has accomplished and how he has continually supported Texas Tech on a global scale.”

The Red Raiders football coach Joey McGuire was appreciative of the huge gesture.

“There isn’t a greater ambassador for Texas Tech Athletics than Patrick Mahomes,” head coach Joey McGuire said. “He is arguably the best brand in sports, not only for his success on the field but for what he and his family do off it. Since my hiring here at Texas Tech, it’s been evident to me just how much Patrick truly loves this university and football program, and this gift further emphasizes that. On behalf of our entire program, we can’t thank Patrick and Brittany enough for the impact they are making on our student-athletes and the future of Texas Tech Football.”

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have officially revealed that their new baby is a girl. The couple again took to Instagram on Friday to announce the gender after the Kansas City Chiefs star reported to training camp.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP addressed his newest bundle of joy with reporters during his training camp press conference last Tuesday.

“I’m done, I’ll say that; it’s awesome. I always wanted to have kids young,” said Mahomes. “I got to grow up in the locker room, and it made such an impact on my life.”

The couple’s other two children, Sterling and Patrick “Bronze” Mahomes III were featured in the post from their gender reveal party.

“I wanted to have kids young, and I’m on my third kid now to join our family, and Brittany does a great job of doing that,” said Mahomes. “We still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things they might not be able to remember what videos of. It is really cool because I spend so much time in the building at football for these 7-8 months and whenever I’m with my family, I want to enjoy those moments.”

Mahomes has juggled dad and football life well in his career and is preparing to be a girl dad for the second time.

Brittany Mahomes shared great photos with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after reuniting in Amsterdam

Looked like an awesome time.

With a three-week break before the Chiefs had to report to training camp, the Mahomes family took a European vacation this month. And one of the final stops on the trip lined up perfectly for a reunion with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

As we saw on July 6, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes were in a luxury suite with Travis Kelce as the 14-time Grammy winner performed her final Eras Tour show in Amsterdam. It was assumed that both Brittany and Patrick would join Travis and Taylor at some point after the show. And on Monday, we got that confirmation from Brittany herself.

Brittany shared a few photos on Instagram to recap her trip to London and Amsterdam. And among the photos included a couple great shots of her and Taylor together. The first photo had both couples enjoying themselves on what appeared to be a dock in Amsterdam. The second photo was Brittany and Taylor together.

Travis is back stateside as Swift continues her European leg of the Eras Tour. But fans loved seeing that Brittany and Taylor found time to hang out in Amsterdam.
