5 takeaways from Alabama’s 34-0 win over Austin Peay

Despite the shutout victory, Alabama’s performance left a lot to be desired. Here are five takeaways from the Tide’s win over Austin Peay.

No. 8 Alabama improved to 9-2 on the season after a 34-0 win over the Austin Peay Governors on Saturday afternoon.

It wasn’t always pretty for the Tide who had a pair of first-half turnovers that left many Alabama fans grumbling on social media. Nevertheless, the Alabama defense put up a solid performance and shut out their opponent for the second time this season.

[autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] put together another good performance finishing with 221 passing yards and two touchdowns.

The ground game is where Alabama was most dominating as junior running back [autotag]Jase McClellan[/autotag] racked up 156 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. As a team, Alabama finished with 263 yards on the ground.

LOOK: Brian Branch hauls in Alabama’s second interception of the day

Alabama’s Brian Branch collects the Tide’s second interception of the day.

The second half has gone a little better for [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide as Alabama holds a 34-0 lead over the Austin Peay Governors in the fourth quarter.

Part of what has led to Alabama’s success in the second half has been the stingy Crimson Tide defense.

Junior defensive back [autotag]Brian Branch[/autotag] kept the momentum going in the fourth quarter for the Alabama defense by picking off a pass by the Governors to give the Crimson Tide the ball back.

Let’s take a look at how Alabama Twitter reacted to Branch’s interception of Governor quarterback Mike DiLiello.

2023 NFL mock draft has 6 Alabama stars in first two rounds

See which Crimson Tide stars are expected to hear their names called at the 2023 NFL draft!

Alabama’s 2023 roster is loaded with talent. Players from both sides of the ball will find their way into the NFL by way of the annual draft.

Though the draft isn’t until April of next year, it’s never too early to check out the projections.

Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling put together a two-round mock draft, which features a total of six current Crimson Tide stars.

As expected, quarterback Bryce Young and linebacker Will Anderson Jr. are projected to land somewhere within the first five picks. However, others have risen and fallen as the 2022 college football season has progressed.

With plenty of time left in the 2022 season, changes are inevitable; but here is how Easterling projects the first two rounds to look.

Seven Alabama players projected in first two rounds in DraftWire’s latest mock draft

The Draft Wire recently released a new two-round mock draft. Seven Alabama players were among others projected to land in the first two rounds.

We are heading into Week 6 of the college football season, but mock drafts are already circulating. In the latest NFL mock draft by Luke Easterling of The Draft Wire, there are seven Alabama players projected to land in the top two rounds.

As expected, the group of players is headlined by potential Heisman candidates Bryce Young and Will Anderson. Both have had incredible careers at the Capstone and will likely carry that success to the next level.

The Crimson Tide still have their sights on winning an SEC Championship as well as the College Football Playoff. However, a goal for each player on the team is to ultimately hear their name called one day by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

With that being said, Roll Tide Wire will recap the latest two-round mock draft from The Draft Wire.

Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 6 vs. Texas A&M Aggies

The latest injury report for Alabama Football heading into Week 6 matchup with Texas A&M.

Alabama was mostly healthy for the Week 5 matchup against Arkansas. Wide receiver JoJo Earle made his season debut. Although we haven’t seen either Tyler Harrell or Aaron Anderson in game action, both were suited up against Vanderbilt, but the two did not make the trip to Fayetteville this past weekend.

The Crimson Tide did suffer injuries on both sides of the ball. One of the most notable injuries occurred in the first half when junior quarterback Bryce Young suffered a shoulder injury. Several other defensive players sustained injuries during the game as well.

Here’s a look at the latest injury report ahead of Alabama’s Week 6 matchup against Texas A&M.

Everything Nick Saban said on Monday of Texas A&M week

Everything Alabama football coach Nick Saban said on Monday of Texas A&M game week.

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide were able to silence some of its doubters this past weekend with a solid road victory over the Razorbacks.

Now the Tide will turn its attention to another SEC West rival, the Texas A&M Aggies led by former Saban assistant Jimbo Fisher.

On Monday, coach Saban addressed the media as he does each and every week to wrap up the previous contest and look ahead to the next opponent.

Coach Saban would provide some injury updates on several key members of the Tide including one of the team’s leaders, star quarterback, [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag].

Alabama countdown to kickoff: 14 days

We are only 14 days away from the start of Alabama’s 2022 football season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2022 college football season in 14 days, as Utah State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 3.

This will be Alabama’s first season-opener at home in quite some time, as the 18-time national champs are usually selected for a nationally televised kickoff game at a neutral site against a big-time opponent.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and his team take the field.

Today, with 14 days remaining, we will take a look at rising junior defensive back, [autotag]Brian Branch[/autotag].

Branch has consistently been in the defensive back rotation throughout his first two seasons in Tuscaloosa and looks to have a dominant junior campaign.

Through two seasons Branch has accumulated 82 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception.

Alabama Morning Drive: Fall camp set to begin this week

August is here and that means football is back!

Good Monday morning, Tide fans! Welcome back to another edition of Alabama Morning Drive!

We have finally made it to August, and you know what that means, football season is just around the corner. In fact, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide are set to start fall camp sometime this week.

While an official date has not been set, going by past experiences, this is generally the week that Alabama will hit the practice field in preparation for the season.

The most educated guess that I can give is that Alabama will likely start on either Thursday or Friday of this week. The first scrimmage will likely be on August 13.

Regardless of when the Tide gets things rolling, fall camp is just a couple of steps away, and that means the football is back.
