This top 2024 wide receiver recruit sets visit date for opening game

The Gators are in hot pursuit of this Hillsborough product, who plans on joining his teammate at Florida’s season opener.

The season opener for Florida football against the Utah Utes is merely hours away at this point and the list of top recruits who plan on stopping by for a taste of what the Gator Nation is cooking in the Swamp continues to grow.

Four-star wide receiver [autotag]Bredell Richardson[/autotag] out of Tampa (Florida) Carrollwood Day plans on joining his teammate, running back [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag], in the stands as the Orange and Blue open up the Billy Napier era on September 3. The 6-foot, 190-pound pass-catcher, much like his high school compadre, took part in the Friday Night Lights event at the end of July before receiving a re-offered scholarship from the new staff.

Speaking of which, the revamped brass at the top of the football program, spearheaded by wide receivers coach [autotag]Keary Colbert[/autotag], has already made a positive impression on the rising junior.

“I like the new staff,” he told Gators Online. “Me and Keary have a good relationship that we’ve been building over a long time. Also, I knew from the jump that it was a slower process with them just because it’s a new staff. They had to get comfortable and figure out what they were doing with their own kids that are up there. I knew it was going to be slower and I was open to that.”

The Gators face competition for the student-athlete’s talents, with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles among the other schools in hot pursuit of the blue-chipper.

Richardson is ranked No. 70 overall and No. 10 at his position in his class nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 83 and 16, respectively. Florida is out front in On3’s Recruiting Prediciton Machine with a 35.8% chance of signing him ahead of Miami and FSU at 8.4% and 7.2%, respectively.

Florida football among favorites for top-100 2024 wide receiver prospect

A top-100 WR prospect out of Tampa has the Florida Gators among his top programs when considering where to play his college ball.

Billy Napier is staying the course with his plan to keep the top players in the state of Florida home with [autotag]Bredell Richardson[/autotag] set as his latest target.

The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver out of Carrollwood Day High School in Tampa, Florida, was previously offered by [autotag]Dan Mullen[/autotag]’s staff and was re-offered a scholarship (along with high school teammate running back [autotag]Anthony Carie[/autotag]) by [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] after meeting the Orange and Blue’s new coach last month.

Richardson spent time with wide receivers coach Keary Colbert and told Gators Online that he and Colbert have been building a relationship for quite some time now. Richardson also mentioned that he likes the fact that Napier took his time evaluating him and taking his time with offering the four-star wideout.

His time in Gainesville allowed him to get a first-hand account of what Napier’s blueprint for the Florida football program looks like, with Napier taking time out of his day to speak one on one with Richardson.

It’s going to be difficult for Napier to keep Richardson close to home, with the wide receivers having over 35 offers with two years of high school football still left to play. Top schools to have offered Richardson include Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida State, and of course, Florida.

While no official or unofficial visits are scheduled, Richardson says he intends to visit Gainesville this fall. He is the No. 12 receiver and the No. 77 overall player in the 2024 class.

Florida re-offers this 4-star in-state 2024 running back

The Gators are looking at one of the top running backs in the class of 2024 closely. Billy Napier’s staff re-offered four-star Anthony Carrier recently.

Four-star running back [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag] was recently re-offered by the Florida Gators’ new coaching staff, according to Gators Online.

The Carrollwood Day (Tampa, Florida) recruit impressed coaches during the a July camp, which he partially participated in due to the upcoming season. He and teammate [autotag]Bredell Richardson[/autotag], a four-star wide receiver ranked No. 77 overall in the class, performed individual drills for coaches and both picked up offers for the second time.

“I like the new staff,” Carrie said. “I’m still trying to get a feel for them. Before me and Bredell went up there, Florida was not recruiting us as hard as the last staff was, so we are trying to get a feel for them. It was nice getting around them and getting coached by them.”

One of the coaches Carrie got to work with closely is running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag]. The two shared a moment after a drill went wrong. Carrie, who considers himself an elite running back, decided to delay a route after seeing the other recruits run straight to the position. His rationale was that a linebacker would be able to read it easily and in-game he’d be waiting longer to make his cut.

That threw Juluke off and the two didn’t connect, but Carrie quickly apologized and explained the thought process. Juluke replied with “be you,” and seemed to realize that Carrie has a better understanding of the position than other kids at his level. That’s the kind of moment that makes a coach and player want to work with each other, and Carrie’s confident he proved himself at the camp.

But he’s still taking things slow and not committing a spot in his top 10 to the orange and blue until he’s sure of things. That will take a bit more effort on UF’s side. He plans to visit for one game in the fall, but his schedule is far from finalized.

“I’m not sure yet. I’m kind of just getting a feel for them,” Carrie said. “Before the new staff came, they were definitely top 10, but they have to earn to be top 10 now. I have to see how they do this year on the field; I got to see how the culture is and I want to see them recruit me a little bit more.”

Carrie is ranked No. 100 overall on the On3 consensus and is No. 5 among running backs. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 20 touchdowns as a sophomore.

The latest names to stop in to see the Swamp are a pair of in-state four-star teammates from Carrollwood Day School in Tampa who hail from the class of 2024.

Wide receiver [autotag]Bredell Richardson[/autotag] and running back [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag] plan on visiting the University of Florida on Wednesday, according to Gators Online. The two have received interest from the Orange and Blue dating back to [autotag]Dan Mullen[/autotag]’s tenure, from which they both received offers. Richardson, a 6-foot-1-inch, 185-pound pass-catcher, is currently ranked No. 75 overall and No. 11 in his class nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 77 and 12, respectively. Carrie, a 6-foot, 185-pound ball-carrier, is currently ranked No. 94 overall and No. 3 in his class nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 100 and 5, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Georgia Bulldogs in the lead for the rising junior with a 37.2% chance of snagging him while Florida is second at 11.6% and the South Carolina Gamecocks making things interesting at 9.9%.

Top 2024 Florida wide receiver sets visit date to Notre Dame

The Irish are getting a Florida star on campus next month

Recruiting never sleeps, it just doesn’t. For [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and Notre Dame, they are taking full advantage of momentum on the recruiting trail, having a stellar 2023 class and a fantastic start to the 2024 cycle.

The current crop of soon to be juniors are starting their evaluations of schools and the Irish are among many of their top choices. Already defensive ends [autotag]Brandon Davis-Swain[/autotag] and [autotag]Owen Wafle[/autotag] have committed, with Freeman looking too continue to add on to the class.

With that in mind the Irish got some great news this afternoon, as Florida wide receiver [autotag]Bredell Richardson[/autotag] has set a date for an unofficial visit to South Bend.

The six-foot-one-inch and 185-pound Sunshine State star already hold over 40 verbal offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Penn State and of course Notre Dame. It does seem like Richardson is making a Midwest tour, as he also announced a visit to Michigan also on June 3rd.

Reading into the schedule visits, it may seem like Richardson is a bit higher on the Irish at the moment, spending a day-and-a-half there. Time will tell if that is the right read, but at the current moment it looks like the Irish have a lot of time to wow Richardson during his visit.

One of nation’s top receivers says first Clemson visit ‘was amazing’

Last week, one of the country’s top wide receiver prospects in the 2024 class stepped foot on Clemson’s campus for the first time.

Carrollwood Day School (Tampa, Fla.) four-star Bredell Richardson loved his first-ever experience in Tiger Town on Monday, April 4, and the unofficial visit left a big impression on him.

“The visit was amazing!” he told The Clemson Insider. “The family feeling and culture and the way I was treated (stood out). I’m a big priority and that’s how I was treated there!”

One of the highlights of the visit for Richardson – the nation’s No. 6 wideout in the 2024 class, per Rivals – was taking in the Tigers’ spring practice that day and watching how receivers coach Tyler Grisham worked with his guys.

“Practice was awesome,” he said. “I liked the energy and how Coach G was coaching.”

The visit afforded the 6-foot-1, 185-pound sophomore an opportunity to spend time with Grisham, as well as Dabo Swinney.

“Coach Swinney was excited and happy for me getting on campus,” Richardson said of what he heard from Clemson’s head coach. “He said Coach G talks about me all the time and he loves the type of person I am, and Coach Swinney is very impressed by me. Coach G really likes and loves me, and he shows that, and he says I’m his number one guy to me and to Coach Swinney!”

Along those lines, regarding Clemson’s interest in Richardson, he believes an offer from the Tigers will come in due time based on conversations he has had with Grisham.

“Coach G would offer but he knows Swinney had his own evaluations and process of doing things that worked,” Richardson said. “Coach G tells me don’t worry because it’s coming, because I check all the boxes that need to be checked.”

Richardson has seen his recruiting stock continue to soar this calendar year as he’s added schools such as Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Cincinnati to his offer sheet that already included Penn State, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Pittsburgh, NC State and many others.

What would it mean for him to add Clemson to that list of offers?

“Would be a blessing to get an offer from such a prestigious university and great program that has a lot of success!” he said.

Up next for Richardson is a visit to Alabama this weekend. He hopes to return to Clemson soon and catch a game at Death Valley this upcoming season.

Richardson is ranked by Rivals as the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 32 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class.

Elite Florida WR ‘very interested’ in Clemson, ‘excited’ for first trip to Tiger Town

An elite wide receiver from the Sunshine State is set for his first-ever trip to Tiger Town. Carrollwood Day School (Tampa, Fla.) four-star Bredell Richardson – the nation’s No. 6 wideout in the 2024 class, per Rivals – will make his first visit to …

An elite wide receiver from the Sunshine State is set for his first-ever trip to Tiger Town.

Carrollwood Day School (Tampa, Fla.) four-star Bredell Richardson – the nation’s No. 6 wideout in the 2024 class, per Rivals – will make his first visit to Clemson next week on Monday, April 4.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound sophomore told The Clemson Insider he is “excited” for the upcoming visit experience.

“I’m there the whole day,” he said. “Should be a great experience. Get to see everything.”

Clemson receivers coach Tyler Grisham has been showing substantial interest in Richardson, who has seen his recruiting stock continue to soar this calendar year as he’s added schools such as Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Cincinnati to his offer list that already included Penn State, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Pittsburgh, NC State and many others.

Richardson told TCI he talks with Grisham on a weekly basis and that they “have really built a great and close connection.”

It’s clear that Grisham really likes Richardson and has the top-50 national prospect in the 2024 class, regardless of position, high on his recruiting board for receivers in the class.

“I know I’m one of his top guys and a very high target as he has said multiple times,” Richardson said of what he’s been hearing from Grisham, “and he said me coming up will be a special day and a great one (to) get to see the campus, meet all the staff, watch practice, see the facility, etc.”

Richardson, who recently visited South Florida, is also slated to see Georgia on April 5 and Alabama from April 15-16. He expects to fit more visits in between those trips, though nothing else is set in stone yet.

“I think I will be visiting a few schools in between,” he said, “but not 100 (percent sure) yet.”

Richardson told TCI earlier this month that it would “mean a lot to get an offer from such a prestigious program like Clemson,” and he feels “it could overall be a great fit” for him.

He’s been high on Clemson for quite some time. Now he’s simply looking forward to checking out the school and program in person for the first time next week.

“I’m very interested and open to the program,” he said. “It’s a program that breeds championships and I’m nothing less of that. That’s what you want to be a part of when you’re a winner!”

“Just ready to see for myself,” he added.

Richardson is ranked by Rivals as the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 32 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class.

Elite Florida WR on Grisham’s radar feels Clemson could be ‘a great fit’

Clemson is showing substantial interest in an elite wide receiver from the Sunshine State who has seen his recruitment continue to take off this year.

Since the calendar turned to 2022, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day four-star Bredell Richardson – the No. 6 receiver and No. 32 overall prospect in the 2024 class, per Rivals – has added schools such as Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas and Cincinnati to his offer list that already included Penn State, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Pittsburgh, NC State and many others.

“It’s been good and interesting,” Richardson said of the recruiting process in a recent interview with The Clemson Insider. “Lots of schools have offered and like me a lot, which is a blessing, but it’s been good. Still taking it slow, though, not in any rush.”

Clemson, of course, takes the recruiting process slowly as well and has yet to offer any 2024 prospects, much less any receivers – a position the Tigers are always selective in recruiting and offering.

Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day 2024 four-star WR Bredell Richardson (photo from @bredell_R on Twitter)

But there’s no doubt that Richardson is firmly on the radar of Clemson and receivers coach Tyler Grisham, who has been staying in touch with the 6-foot-1, 185-pound sophomore.

“He really likes me,” Richardson said. “He wants me to come up there so we can work out and so he can coach me. He loves the person I am and how I’m myself and how I would easily fit in the program and all the benefits of Clemson!”

Grisham invited Richardson to visit Clemson this Saturday, March 12. While Richardson didn’t rule out the possibility of traveling to Tiger Town, he didn’t expect to be able to make the trip due to a 7-on-7 competition.

Richardson said he has “built a good connection” with Grisham, and the interest from Grisham on behalf of the Tigers means a lot to Richardson.

“It’s big and it’s a blessing to get a lot of love from such a prestigious program (with) the winning culture and history,” he said.

Along with Clemson, Richardson named Alabama and schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida State and Notre Dame as some of the ones he is feeling the most love from at this point in his recruitment.

“It’s really a lot of schools from all over,” he said. “I’m building a lot of relationships and talking to a lot of coaches!”

Richardson is really hoping to receive an offer from Dabo Swinney’s program moving forward and feels if he had the chance to play at Clemson, he would fit right in with the Tigers.

“It would mean a lot to get an offer from such a prestigious program like Clemson,” he said. “I like a lot about the school. It’s a school of champions. I like what Coach G has to offer and what Coach Dabo has to offer. I just would love the offer, and it could overall be a great fit for me.”

Clemson has the attention of this big-time wide receiver prospect from the Sunshine State.

Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day four-star wideout Bredell Richardson is highly interested in the Tigers and has had his eyes on Dabo Swinney’s program for quite some time.

“I’ve been watching Clemson since I’ve started watching college football,” Richardson told The Clemson Insider. “So, I have high interest and I’m ready to see how they bounce back this upcoming season.”

Richardson – 6-foot-1, 180-pound sophomore in the 2024 class – has reeled in more than two dozen offers already, including offers from schools such as Florida, Florida State, UCF, USF, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh and NC State.

Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day 2024 four-star WR Bredell Richardson (photo from @bredell_R on Twitter)

In-state schools Florida, Florida State, UCF and USF all hosted Richardson for game-day visits this season.

Clemson, of course, typically doesn’t offer sophomores. But Richardson is on the Tigers’ recruiting radar for the future, and while he isn’t sure when he might be able to visit Clemson, he intends to get on campus at some point moving forward so he can check out the program in person.

“Definitely will try my best to get up there,” he said.

With two years of high school still ahead of him and plenty of time left in his recruiting process, Richardson said “it’s early to say” which schools are his favorites right now, as colleges coaches aren’t allowed to actively reach out to 2024 prospects yet.

“They can’t text me or call me yet, so whoever I call shows love and I try to keep in contact with all coaches,” he added.

Despite missing a few games during his sophomore season, Richardson still racked up 24 catches for 565 yards and eight touchdowns in six games.
