Notre Dame 2025 commit will be back on campus later this month

Grill & Chill time!

[autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] is off to a solid start for their 2025 recruiting class, one of their commitments being defensive tackle [autotag]Davion Dixon[/autotag].

The massive lineman stands 6-foot, 2-inch and weighs 305 pounds, who was the first verbal of the class, making his decision in April. Commitments made that early are always a bit worrisome due to the long time until the prospect is able to sign.

Case in point was 2024 commitment [autotag]Brandon Davis-Swain[/autotag]. The first player to join the Irish class ultimately decided against it and moved on.

That might not be the case with Dixon, as he tweeted out that he will be back in South Bend at the end of the month for Irish Grill & Chill, a recruiting event.

It’s great news to see that Dixon is all in with the Irish going forward.

Five-star 2024 Missouri wide receiver visiting Notre Dame today

He’s on campus now

The Irish missed out on one five-star receiver earlier this week when Florida’s [autotag]Carnell Tate[/autotag] committed to Ohio State. That has not stopped the Marcus Freeman recruiting train, as today he turned his focus on another five-star wide out, Ryan Wingo.

The six-foot-two-inch and 198-pound receiver from the 2024 recruiting class is viewed as one of the best in the country. Already holding offers from LSU, Florida, Oregon, Texas and plenty of others, Wingo is currently in South Bend visiting with Freeman and the offensive staff. Football runs in the Wingo family, as his brother was a running back for Arkansas from 2009-2012.

The Irish currently have three commits in the 2024 cycle which include quarterback [autotag]CJ Carr[/autotag], and defensive linemen [autotag]Brandon Davis-Swain[/autotag] and [autotag]Owen Wafle[/autotag].

Colorado adds second four-star DL commit to 2024 class

Brandon Davis-Swain announced his #cubuffs commitment in the midst of his third visit to Boulder

Who says Deion Sanders can’t recruit linemen?

With the help of defensive ends coach Nick Williams, Colorado’s 2024 class gained its third DL commit on Saturday in the form of Brandon Davis-Swain.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Michigan prospect was in the midst of his third recruiting visit to Boulder when he announced his pledge, joining fellow four-star Omar White and three-star Eric Brantley as 2024 DL committed to the Buffs.

Back in April, Davis-Swain, the No. 5 ranked prospect in Michigan and the No. 24 DL (247Sports Composite), announced a top-five of Colorado, Purdue, Auburn, USC and Michigan.

Davis-Swain earned all-state honors as a junior at West Bloomfield High School after tallying 12 sacks and 33 quarterback hurries, per BuffStampede.

Colorado’s 2024 class now includes six total commits and is ranked No. 38 overall.

Breaking: Notre Dame loses 2024 defensive line commit

The Irish see their second decommit of the 2024 cycle

It has been a little over a year since New Jersey defensive lineman [autotag]Owen Wafle[/autotag] committed to [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], giving the Irish a great start to the 2024 recruiting class.

Unfortunately, Wafle has decided to part ways with the Irish, as he announced on Wednesday morning that he was decommitting. He becomes the second player to commit and then change their mind as another defensive lineman, [autotag]Brandon Davis-Swain[/autotag], also opted to move on.

What’s interesting about Wafle’s decision was the fact that he was reportedly offered a scholarship by Michigan, as it looks like they are going hard after the 6-foot, 3-inch and 290 pound lineman.

Wafle was ranked as the 30th best edge defender and 404th overall player in the 2024 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite.

Notre Dame’s 2024 recruiting class commitments

Who is next?

The 2023 recruiting cycle has not yet signed, but that doesn’t mean the Irish are waiting for that class to fill up. [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is already working hard on the 2024 class, and here are the current commitments for that class in order. (This list will be updated as more prospects pledge to Notre Dame.)

Four-star DL Brandon Davis-Swain puts Auburn in top five

They are battling USC, Purdue, Michigan, and Colorado for him.

Auburn is leaving its traditional recruiting territory in its pursuit of one of the best defensive linemen in the country. Four-star [autotag]Brandon Davis-Swain[/autotag] is from West Bloomfield, Michigan, and on Tuesday included the Tigers in his top five schools.

They are battling USC, Purdue, Michigan, and Colorado for the 6-foot-4, 240-pound defender.

Davis-Swain is the No. 146 overall player and No. 19 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 4 player from Michigan.

Auburn quickly became involved in his recruitment after offering him a scholarship in January, he took a two-day visit to the Plains in March and now has Auburn as one of his top schools.

Davis-Swain had a dominant junior season for West Bloomfield High School, making 62 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks.

Auburn’s 2024 class is off to a great start with four clue-chip commitments already but they are still looking for its first commitment along the defensive line.

In-state 2024 prospect reveals top 5

Gotta get the in-state guys! #GoBlue

Some time ago, it appeared Michigan football had lost an elite prospect who chose rival Notre Dame over Ann Arbor. However, the prospect reneged on that pledge and opened his commitment back up.

2024 West Bloomfield (Michigan) four-star linebacker Brandon Davis-Swain has a great deal of variance in his rankings. Rivals is the highest on him at No. 36 overall, whereas On3’s proprietary rankings doesn’t have him listed — though the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 184 overall. The 247Sports composite has him ranked No. 146 overall and ESPN has him at No. 109.

On Tuesday, Davis-Swain released his top five, and Michigan made the cut, along with Purdue, Colorado, USC and Auburn.

Of course, Davis-Swain’s former head coach in high school, Ron Bellamy, is the wide receivers coach at Michigan. There are no 247Sports crystal ball predictions indicating what his school of choice will be, but the On3 recruiting prediction machine indicates he’ll likely be a Wolverine with a prediction rate of 25.8%.

Badgers in Top 11 of four-star defensive lineman

Brandon Davis-Swain a class of 2024 four-star defensive lineman from Michigan named the Badgers as one of his top 11 destinations on Monday.

Brandon Davis-Swain a four-star defensive lineman from West Bloomfield, Michigan named the Badgers as one of his top 11 destinations on Monday. The class of 2024 athlete is narrowing down his options and Wisconsin has certainly garnered his consideration.

Davis-Swain spent the greater part of the 2022 calendar year committed to Notre Dame, but he actually withdrew his commitment after he received an offer from the Badgers in early December. Since Dec. 11, he has received offers from Auburn, Colorado and Purdue, all of whom are in his final 11.

With Luke Fickell taking over at head coach and Mike Tressel joining him as defensive coordinator, both of which coming from Cincinnati, the Badgers have become a more enticing all-around team. Fickell and Tressel have produced NFL talent in recent years, most notably cornerback Sauce Gardner, the 2023 AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year.
