Prince Tega Wanogho headed back to Super Bowl with Chiefs

This former Auburn lineman is headed back to the Super Bowl

Former Auburn offensive tackle [autotag]Prince Tega Wanogho[/autotag] is headed back to the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 26-year-old appeared in just 3 games this season for Kansas City before going on IR after appearing in 17 during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning season last year.

There is some hope that Wanogho can return to the field on February 11, as the former sixth-round pick was able to partake in all three practice sessions before ultimately being ruled out last Friday.

With two weeks off between now and the big game, the former Auburn standout will have every chance to prove his health ahead of the second Super Bowl of his young career.

If Wanogho can play, he may see an uptick from the seven snaps he received last year with the Chiefs offensive line in rough condition injury-wise.

Star guard Joe Thuney injured himself in the divisional round against the Bills and is considered a “long shot” to return this season, while most of the other starters across the line are dealing with minor ailments.

Active or not, Wanogho can join former Tigers [autotag]Jonathan Jones[/autotag] and [autotag]Brandon King[/autotag] as active alumni with multiple Super Bowl victories with a win.

36 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 36 for New England

Here’s a list of every Patriots player to wear the No. 36 jersey number

The New England Patriots are officially 36 days away from their regular season opener. So we’re continuing our countdown series by listing every Patriots player that has ever worn the No. 36 jersey.

Running back Kevin Harris currently wears the number, which initially belonged to core Patriots special-teamer Brandon King. Harris, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, has seen more work behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson at training camp.

Whether that carries over into the regular season or not remains to be seen.

But Lawyer Milloy is the name people typically think about when it comes to the No. 36 in New England. Milloy was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NFL draft by the Patriots and helped them upset the St. Louis Rams at Super Bowl XXXVI.

Here’s every player throughout franchise history that has worn the No. 36 (via Pro Football Reference):

Colts’ Brandon King, Kameron Cline injured in preseason Week 2

Brandon King and Kameron Cline left with injuries in the preseason Week 2 loss.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Brandon King and defensive end Kameron Cline were injured during the 27-26 preseason loss to the Detroit Lions on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

King left during the second quarter and was ruled out with a hamstring injury. He didn’t play a defensive snap and saw just six snaps on special teams.

Cline went into the medical tent during the fourth quarter and eventually into the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. He didn’t return and it’s safe to assume he will be placed in the league’s concussion protocol.

Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is still in the concussion protocol from the preseason opener while linebacker Shaquille Leonard is still on the PUP list after undergoing back surgery this offseason.

Defensive tackle Chris Williams (lower leg), offensive tackle Dennis Kelly (knee) and Keke Coutee (groin) did not play due to their respective injuries.

Defensive tackle R.J. McIntosh, linebacker Jojo Domann, safety Armani Watts and safety Will Redmond did not play presumably due to undisclosed injuries.

Colts’ Brandon King ruled out vs. Lions

Brandon King will not return to the game due to a hamstring injury.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Brandon King suffered a hamstring injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Detroit Lions on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

King was signed this offseason as a special teamer and linebacker depth piece. He’s been battling with a quartet of undrafted rookie free agents for the final spot in the linebacker room.

With King out for the rest of the game, expect to see a lot of Jojo Domann, Sterling Weatherford, Forrest Rhyne and James Skalski.

Studs and duds from Colts’ preseason loss to Bills

Here are the studs and duds from the Colts’ preseason opener.

The Indianapolis Colts got through their preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday at Highmark Stadium, but couldn’t come away with a victory.

The starting offense played 26 snaps in total, which took them into the second quarter while there was a heavy rotation on the defensive line throughout the majority of the game.

It’s important not to overreact to the preseason, but we still need to attention. Final stat lines don’t mean everything this time of year. It’s more about how a player looked with the snaps they received.

Here are the studs and duds from the Colts’ preseason loss to the Bills:

Colts’ 2022 training camp preview: Linebackers

Here’s a look at the LB corps entering Colts training camp.

The Indianapolis Colts are officially one week away from the start of training camp with veterans set to report July 26.

Among those veterans will be the linebackers led by Darius Leonard and Bobby Okereke. The Colts didn’t make too many changes to the linebacker room outside of adding a veteran special teamer and two intriguing undrafted rookie free agents following the 2022 NFL draft.

Be sure to check out the other position previews ahead of training camp:

5 Colts with the most to lose at training camp

These Colts have the most to lose at training camp.

The Indianapolis Colts will begin training camp later this month where the start of a number of position battles with take place in Westfield.

Earlier, we took a look at the players with the most to gain at training camp. Now, it’s time to look at the opposite end of the spectrum. These players with the most to lose are expected to either have a starting role or at least a roster spot.

Losing out during training camp may be different for some. It could simply mean losing a prominent role in the rotation. For others, it could mean getting cut from the roster altogether.

Here’s a quick look at five Colts players with the most to lose at training camp:

Former Tigers defensive back signs deal with the Indianapolis Colts

Former Tigers defensive back inks a new deal with the Indianapolis Colts after winning two super bowls with the New England Patriots.

On Tuesday, former Auburn defensive back Brandon King inked a new deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

After going undrafted in 2015, King signed with the New England Patriots. The Alabama native spent seven seasons in Foxborough. Although he hasn’t played exclusively at outside linebacker, King has seen significant playing time on special teams. Throughout the course of his career, he has also won two super bowls with the Patriots.

King spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas. He garnered interest from multiple programs over his two years at the junior college level. Schools like Arizona State, Ole Miss, Memphis, and Texas Tech all offered the three-star. Ultimately, it was Auburn that stood out the most. In his time on the Plains, he recorded 19 total tackles and one fumble recovery. After playing defensive back at Auburn, he made the transition to outside linebacker at the professional level.

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Now, he joins a Colts team that is certainly trending in the right direction. Xavier Rhodes, who started at cornerback, will not be returning to the team in 2022 as he became a free agent. They will also lose a key contributor in Rock Ya-Sin. It is very possible that the Colts will move King back to his old spot at cornerback. It could give him a way to see more playing time. Linebackers Bobby Okereke and Darius Leonard led the team in tackles last season. For longevity with the Colts, his best option is to play cornerback more than likely.

We will definitely be able to see how Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley and special teams coach Raymond Ventrone plan to implement King into their gameplan. The change of scenery may change a lot of things for King’s professional career. We certainly hope that everything pans out for him.

Report: Brandon King agrees to one-year deal with Indianapolis Colts

Brandon King reached a deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday.

Former New England Patriots defensive specialist Brandon King reached a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

He appeared in 16 games for the Patriots in 2021 and recorded nine tackles.

He was a Swiss Army knife in the organization, taking on roles in many of the different special teams units during his time with the team. He spent seven seasons with the organization. His best year statistically came in 2015. He tallied 12 tackles on the season.

King appeared in 85 career games for the Patriots, and was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams. He becomes the sixth player to leave the Patriots organization this offseason.

The New England Patriots will have a chance to add younger talent via the NFL draft a couple weeks. This could be important as roster attrition continues to be a theme.
