Another Pickett, 5-Star 2025 safety, has Ohio State football on his trimmed list

Another Pickett?!?! #GoBucks

The Pickett family is full of big-time football players and another one is considering [autotag]the Ohio State football family[/autotag].

[autotag]Booker Pickett[/autotag] recently dropped his top five remaining schools, with the Buckeyes making the cut. Now it was time for his cousin, [autotag]DJ Pickett,[/autotag] to trim down his list.

The younger of the two cousins is one of the most sought-after 2025 safeties in the country. DJ is a 5-star prospect, the No. 1 safety, and 8th overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

At 6-foot, 2-inches, 170-pound Pickett decided it was time to focus on just a few schools, thirteen to be exact.

Pickettā€™s list is a whoā€™s who of college football, with major powers like Georgia, Alabama, and LSU joining Ohio State. Hopefully, the family ties will work out for the Buckeyes as they did for other Florida stars like the Bosaā€™s and potentially Booker.

Nephew of former Ohio State star puts Ohio State in trimmed list

Ohio State hoping to stay close to another recruit from down south. #GoBucks

Ohio State football is getting some love this Valentine’s Day from a top-100 prospect. Booker Pickett named his top nine schools and included the Buckeyes.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Booker’s uncle, Ryan Pickett, starred in Columbus in the late 90s thru 2000. Ryan was a load on the Buckeye defensive line and a first-round NFL draft selection by the St. Louis Rams. He played 14 seasons in the league with the Rams, Packers and Texans, winning a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 2011.

Booker said he believes “the Buckeyes are building something special. … I know I’ll get developed there.” Pickett is the No. 6 edge rusher in the 2024 class on the 247Sports composite.

Others on Pickett’s short list are Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami (Florida), Penn State, South Carolina,Ā Tennessee and USC.

Ryan Day and the Buckeye coaching staff are working hard to land the next round of recruits at Ohio State. We’ll keep you up to speed as things develop with the next wave of young men ready to wear the scarlet and gray.
