Notre Dame lands 2024 linebacker recruit Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

Solid get for the Irish.

Notre Dame just beat out two real blue bloods for the services of 2024 four-star linebacker recruit [autotag]Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa[/autotag]. On July 3, the Bellflower, California native announced that the Irish had made his final cut along with USC and Ohio State. After nearly three weeks of additional waiting, the recruiting efforts of [autotag]Al Washington[/autotag] and [autotag]Max Bullough[/autotag] have paid off. Viliamu-Asa made the announcement on social media:

Here’s how the actual announcement looked from his home:

Viliamu-Asa is the third linebacker commit of the Irish’s 2024 class. The others, [autotag]Teddy Rezac[/autotag] and [autotag]Bodie Kahoun[/autotag], are three-star commits, which makes Vilamu-Asa the biggest get at the position in the 2024 class so far. Greg Biggins of 247Sports had this to say about him in November:

“One of the most versatile linebackers in the country. He’s an inside ‘backer but a rare every down player who can move around and play multiple spots in a defense. He can stuff the run, blitz off the edge and is very smooth in coverage for a 6-foot-3, 230 pound athlete. He was the state’s top prospect as a freshman but tore his ACL in the final game of the season and missed his entire sophomore year. He’s a huge hitter and has a game built for pads but we saw him during 7v7 play lock up receivers and tight ends in coverage. He’s a smart kid as well, very instinctive and plays with a non-stop motor. He’s a tough kid and has a nice edge in his game.”

Here’s hoping that all is on display with the Irish.

Notre Dame gets a commitment from 2024 Virginia linebacker

The right way to start your week is with an Irish commit

Ever since [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] offered Ohio State lacrosse commit [autotag]Bodie Kahoun[/autotag] a scholarship to play football, it seems like the Virginian was leaning towards flipping his sport and commitment.

Early on Monday morning, that’s exactly what happened, as Kahoun announced his intentions to play football for the Irish. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 214 pound linebacker becomes the 16th commitment on the 2024 Notre Dame recruiting class.

Kahoun is the first commitment at his position, and is viewed as the 36th best linebacker and 428th overall prospect by the 247Sports composite. Expect his rankings to rise this fall, as his sole focus will be on football going forward.

Expect head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] to continue to add to this position group as the Irish continue to have one of the best 2024 recruiting classes in the country.

Notre Dame among the three schools that could flip Ohio State lacrosse commit

The Irish are standing out

[autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] has been on two recent ends of the lacrosse to football stories. The miss happened with defensive end [autotag]Sam Hubbard[/autotag], who was committed to the Irish to play lacrosse but ended up playing football for Ohio State.

The hit was quarterback [autotag]Jack Coan[/autotag], who originally committed to the Irish to also play lacrosse, but choose Wisconsin football. His route to South Bend was long, but he eventually transferred in and had a fantastic 2021 season.

Now, Notre Dame is trying to flip Ohio State lacrosse commit [autotag]Bodie Kahoun[/autotag], who the Irish offered a scholarship to earlier this month. According to this report from Tim Thomas that says Kahoun mentioned that three stand out at the moment: Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

Kahoun is currently unranked by the 247Sports composite, but that most likely is due to his lacrosse commitment. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 220 pound linebacker has the potential to be a very good football player, if he elects to go that route.

Notre Dame football offers two more prospects Tuesday morning

A few offers to potential breakout prospects

The [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] coaching staff has been a bit quiet recently sending out offers, but on Tuesday morning they put an end to that. They sent out two different offers to eastern prospect.

Both of the offers went out to players who aren’t currently being viewed at as national prospects, but each of their recruitments have started to heat up in 2023.

[autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has done a wonderful job with the 2024 class and it looks like he is working on these two players before they officially blow up. Find out below who the Irish offered along with a quick breakdown and what their current commitment status is.
