Stock up, stock down following the Bills’ win over the Broncos

Stock report following the Buffalo Bills’ win over the Denver Broncos.

In the route that was the Buffalo Bills’ win over the Denver Broncos, one could pretty easily guess which way the stock status of many went.

On Saturday, that outing saw the Bills (11-3) top the Broncos in a massive 48-19 final score. The biggest storyline from it was the Bills’ clinching the AFC East title for the first time in 25 years.

Before we get to where Buffalo goes from here, let’s take a look at the latest stock report for the tea, following Week 15:

Stock down

OL Ike Boettger

The Bills offensive line really only had one weak spot against the Broncos and it was left guard Ike Boettger. After struggling against the Steelers’ Cam Heyward two weeks ago, Boettger was beaten a couple times in Denver. On one occasion, Boettger let a rusher right in on quarterback Josh Allen, who bailed out the guard with an impressive pass to tight end Dawson Knox. Allen was hit low on that play though, something you never want to see.

Boettger also had issues with multiple penalties. He was part of the red zone situation when the Bills were going the wrong way. Boettger’s overall Pro Football Focus grade took another big dent, too. Entering the last week vs. the Steelers, he was a 75.9 overall, and after another drop off, he’s down to 63.3.

KR Andre Roberts

Andre Roberts did have a 53-yard kick return which was good… but very much over shadowing that was a fumble on a punt return. That’s rare for Roberts, but it happened, and the Broncos went on to score on that ensuing drive. Can’t have that.

Appears Bills avoided any injury concerns with Stefon Diggs

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs appears to have avoided injury vs. the Denver Broncos.

Late in their 48-19 win over the Broncos, the Bills had a weird situation play out with wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Diggs, who had a massive game himself with 11 catches and 147 receiving yards, was seen carted off the field with a foot injury. Moments later, the team officially announced that Diggs was being looked at.

Almost as soon as that statement was issued… Diggs was then spotted on the cart, heading back toward Buffalo’s sideline, and he was then hopping off of the cart.

With only one shoe on, Diggs jumped on one foot over to his teammates celebrating their AFC East title win on the sideline near the final whistle.

Now that all that dust has settled, it appears we have a couple of reasons to believe that Diggs will be good to go moving forward as well. First, NFL Network’s Kim Jones reported that the injury was “not serious” and it “will not affect his availability.”

In addition, Bills Wire’s Bradley Gelber also did some investigation of his own. While posting a recording that Bills cornerback Josh Norman posted to his own social media account which involved players celebrating the win in the locker room, he noticed that Diggs is in the background of this video in the Bills (11-3) locker room.

Diggs appears to be dancing in the first seconds of the video. One would think a guy dancing is a good sign in terms of a foot injury:

In case Diggs does need an extra day or two to rest up, the Bills do have that this upcoming week. Their next Week 16 contest isn’t until Monday Night Football when Buffalo visits the New England Patriots.

Bills postgame reactions to AFC East title: ‘An unexplainable feeling’

After the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East title on Saturday against the Denver Broncos, it was difficult for many players to find the right words.

Some just described the mood as indescribable, while some Buffalo (11-3) players took the big-picture approach.

Here’s a rundown of how some in the Bills’ locker room reacted to the AFC East title following their 48-19 win over the Broncs (5-9) in Week 15:

Sean McDermott

“I’m just so thankful. And again, it’s not just one person. I’m just… so thankful. I’m so happy for the fans, honestly. I’m just so happy for the fans. It’s just such a cool place to be apart of because of the work ethic of the people. The character of the people in Buffalo, around Buffalo, western New York. I love see Bills flags out in people’s yards and I’m hoping there’s a lot more people buying Bills flags tonight. I’m just humble to be apart of it.”

Josh Allen

“It’s great that we’re able to do it for the first time in 25 years. To be the team and to be the quarterback of the team that does it, obviously it feels really good. At the same time, that’s not our main goal. We set out to do this, in order to get a chance to do what we really want to do and win a Super Bowl championship. I know our fans and Bills Mafia is probably going crazy right now. But there’s still a lot on the table. We still have two games left in the regular season that we have to go finish out and put our next foot forward and prepare for a really good New England team next week.”

Dion Dawkins

“I haven’t really caught the feeling yet. It’s… my head is still spinning. I’m very, very excited. In a sense, I’m kind of at a loss for words because… Buffalo has been waiting on this for 25 years. It took my class from getting here, four years. It’s just special. If I could explain it… it’s just an unexplainable feeling and this is really nothing and it’s still a really unexplainable feeling.”

Zack Moss

“I mean, it feels amazing. Being a rookie and experiencing this for the first time. You can’t really put it into words… especially with the way the world is with COVID, just getting to try and play football… just being able to go through all the protocols, all the rules and that, it’s really special.”

Micah Hyde

“Long time coming, finally got it done.”

Cole Beasley

“It’s always a good feeling to be on top of the division, but we still have a goal ahead of us. We’re going to celebrate tonight and then put it behind us and get ready for the next step.”

Jon Feliciano

“Super happy. This is my first time in football winning the division. Man, means a lot.

“It’s been a long time since we won the division title. Man, we know the job’s not done, but this one is definitely for Bills Mafia.”

Jerry Hughes

“Man, it feels amazing. This is something that, you know, we talked back [about] once I got to this organization. We spoke about bringing a division championship home to Buffalo so this is great to be apart of. This team, the way that Sean and Brandon Beane did it, assembled the team together and put guys in the right spots so we can be successful. The results are showing.”

Jordan Poyer

“It’s hard to describe, man. Guys work extremely hard, throughout the offseason, during the season and to get to this point, to get the opportunity to come out here and clinch the AFC East? It’s kind of indescribable. The guys work extremely hard, we’re a family. I think it’s been… I mean, I was four years old the last time the Bills won the AFC East. Huge win for our program, huge win for our city. We’re excited to keep building and move forward.”

Devin Singletary

“It’s major… 25 years, that’s a long time. That’s one of our goals we wanted to reach this year. We reached that, we’re going to enjoy it for about 24 hour and then move on.”

PODCAST: Bills win AFC East vs. Broncos, how far can they go?

Buffalo Bills podcast following Week 15 win vs. Denver Broncos.

Following a decisive second-half performance and victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14, the Bills were a win away from their first AFC East crown in 25 years.

That is, until Saturday.

In an impressive 48-19 victory against the Denver Broncos, the Bills (11-3) clinched both their first division crown since 1995 as well as a trip to the playoffs.

The with the big day on the scoreboard, the team reached 400 points on the season for the first time since 1998. Buffalo scored early and often, including a touchdown throw from Josh Allen to Jake Kumerow, which tied an NFL record as he was the 13th Bill this season to catch a TD pass. The team added points on both sides of the ball too, when a second-half a sack by Tre’Davious White caused a fumble that was recovered by Jerry Hughes, who then juked defenders for a 21-yard touchdown only 17 seconds after the offense had scored one as well.

The Bills then pulled away in the third quarter, adding 13 more points that included a pair of Tyler Bass field goals and a 51-yard single-play touchdown drive from Devin Singletary to boot.

5 takeaways from the Bills’ 48-19 win over the Broncos

Takeaways from the Buffalo Bills’ Week 15 win over the Denver Broncos.

Well, that looked awfully easy.

En route to clinching their first AFC East title since 1995, the Buffalo Bills (11-3) just straight-up blew out the Denver Broncos (5-9) on Saturday. A final score beat down of 48-19 happened and really tells a lot of the story.

The game was just about never in doubt, and before we celebrate, let’s get to breaking this one down. Here are five takeaways from the Bills’ Week 15 win over the Broncos:

All-around Allen

What didn’t Bills quarterback Josh Allen do against the Broncos? The entire package was on display again, as it has been recently for Buffalo.

After Allen and the Bills offense scored on their first drive of the game by really just dinking and dunking their way down the field, things were really opened up. On Buffalo’s second score on offense, Allen had passes of 17 and 15 yards before a 24-yard scramble got the Bills in the end zone again. Allen then reverted back to the passing scores, finding, of all players, Jake Kumerow for a 22-yard score on a drive that had the Bills pushed way back from the goal.

Another passing score? Time for a rushing one next from Allen… and that’s exactly what happened. After driving down the field with a couple of passes to Cole Beasley, Allen rushed in another, this time at the goal line. All of this also was pretty much in order. Buffalo had essentially four drives in the first half and three of the four went for scores, as did their first drive of the second half.

For those counting, we had two passing scores and two rushing scores. Plus, a 300-plus yard passing outing for the quarterback, 359 passing yards, in total, plus another 33 yards rushing the ball. Aside from the versatile ways of scoring, Allen was also extra impressive in facing the Broncos’ pass rush as well. He completed a lot of passes with guys right in his face and Allen’s making that look easy.

All things considered, that’s as “Josh Allen” as it gets, between the work with his arm and his legs. And like their defense, it’s starting to look like Buffalo’s quarterback is peaking at the right time, too.

Josh Allen hilariously yells ‘How many times do we gotta score?!’ (video)

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen yells against the Denver Broncos.

The Buffalo Bills were having a good time on Saturday against the Denver Broncos. In a blowout game in his favor, quarterback Josh Allen still wanted more.

In the second half while leading 35-13, the Bills continued to apply the pressure. Buffalo got the ball into the end zone a few times, but penalties kept calling plays back.

On one to Isaiah McKenzie, Allen ran toward his wideout with the ball in the end zone when he saw another flag. Thanks to no fans being at the game, the camera microphones caught the quarterback yelling something which was pretty funny.

“How many times do we gotta score!” Allen yelledv.

Check out the replay of Allen’s reaction here and be sure to turn that sound up first:

WATCH: Eric Moulds congratulates Stefon Diggs on breaking his record

Eric Moulds sends message to Stefon Diggs.

One play.

That’s all it took for Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs to set a new single-season record for Buffalo. On the Bills’ first play on offense against the Broncos (5-8) in Week 15, quarterback Josh Allen completed a quick seven-yard strike to Diggs on the right.

With that grab, Diggs went to 101 catches in 2020, surpassing the previous single-season record held by Eric Moulds.

After Diggs did that, the Bills (10-3) released this video of Moulds sending his congratulations to Diggs on breaking his record:
