2022 College Football Schedules: All 131 Teams

LOOK: Big 12 Men’s basketball championship bracket released

Texas will take on TCU in the Big 12 quarterfinals on Thursday.

The calendar has officially flipped to March which means it is time for college basketball postseason play. Conference tournaments will start all over the country this week as teams make their final push for the NCAA tournament.

The Phillips’ 66 Big 12 tournament tips off on Wednesday with a matchup between West Virginia and Kansas State.

Kansas and Baylor shared a piece of the regular-season title with a record of 14-4. Texas Tech secured the No. 3 seed after finishing a couple of games back of first.

No. 4 seed Texas will square off against No. 5 seeded TCU on Thursday. The Longhorns swept the regular-season series against the Horned Frogs.

ESPN’s Joe Linardi has six Big 12 teams in his projected NCAA tournament field. Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia are on the outside looking in.

Big 12 conference announces Texas’ 2022 football schedule

What do you think of Texas’ conference schedule for 2022?

It is very well known that both Texas and Oklahoma are slated to head to the SEC, but it seems the move will not take place next season.

The Big 12 released the football schedules for the conference on Wednesday, and both Texas and Oklahoma were included, meaning that they will play at least one more year in the conference before leaving for the SEC.

In the case of the Longhorns, that is probably for the best as it would be ideal to leave the conference on a high note, rather than leaving the conference with a 3-6 record and a loss to Kansas.

Similar to the schedule format of last season, Texas will in fact have a very tough slate of games in the middle of the schedule that can dictate the trajectory of their season.

Let’s take a look at Texas’ conference schedule for the 2022 season.

Big 12 Football: Predicting the outcome each game in Week 11

The Big 12 is due for some craziness this weekend.

With the season winding down, a few teams are looking to make a move in the conference standings, while others are fighting to become bowl eligible.

With the Big 12 being the gauntlet that it is, there will certainly be some shakeups near the top of the conference rankings this week as No. 8 Oklahoma will be taking on No. 13 Baylor.

The two teams that will be playing in the conference championship will settle themselves in the next couple weeks, but programs such as Baylor and Iowa State have little to no margin for error in these final weeks.

While there are four teams in contention for the conference championship, schools such as Texas, West Virginia, and TCU are fighting for their lives just to make a bowl game as they are all two wins away from doing so.

It is time for me to predict the outcomes of every Big 12 game in Week 11. After last week, my record is now 32-18 due to Baylor being upset by TCU and West Virginia not being able to pull off the upset.

Big 12 announces early kickoff time for Texas’ road trip vs TCU

Texas’ Week 5 game against TCU will kick off at 11 a.m. in Fort Worth. It is just the third time the two will have an early game since 2012.

[mm-video type=video id=01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh playlist_id=01eqbz52bnpekkafqb player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh/01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh-cbf679fa098b4e23bed890dc0200fbec.jpg]

Texas fans have been gifted with kickoff times so far this season. The season opener against Louisiana was at 3:30, while Arkansas and Rice have both been in the later window.

The run of good luck seems to have expired.

On Oct. 2, Texas’ Week 5 matchup against TCU will kick off at 11 a.m. CDT in Fort Worth. It is just the third time the two will have an early game since the Horned Frogs joined the conference in 2012.

When on the road, getting an early game is more beneficial. Especially at a venue like Amon G. Carter Stadium. TCU fans will still provide an incredible environment but everybody knows a night game makes for better atmospheres.

Baylor at Oklahoma State and Kansas at No. 15 Iowa State won out for the coveted late kickoffs. You can check out the Big 12’s full schedule here:

With Saturday’s game against Texas Tech also being an 11 a.m. kickoff, there is a chance Texas will have three straight early games. The Big 12/ESPN has not announced a time for the Red River Shootout but if we are going off history, 11 a.m. is likely.

Texas Football: Five most important games of the season

Despite what coaches will tell you on a week to week basis, some games are going to be viewed as more important than others.

For most first-year head coaches, the pressure is taken off with low expectations.

Attempting to rebuild college football programs is a long winded process and takes a lot of time. For Steve Sarkisian and Texas, there are no low expectations. Wins are wanted by fans, staff, and administration and they are wanted right away. Anything less than eight or nine wins would be viewed as a failure.

With the schedule back to normal, the Longhorns will be playing three nonconference and nine Big 12 games. Looking up and down the calendar, there are plenty of matchups to circle.

Despite what coaches will tell you on a week to week basis, some games are going to be viewed as more important than others. The wins will feel better than most, while the losses will be soul-crushing.

Here are the five most important games on Texas’ schedule this season:

2021 Texas football schedule: Steve Sarkisian will be tested right away

ICYMI: Texas’ full 2021 football schedule.

The Steve Sarkisian era at Texas is quickly approaching.

Although numerous Big 12 Conference games do not have a kickoff time, we at least know the dates and opponents each week.

The Longhorns open the 2021 college football season at home against a solid Louisiana squad, then have to travel to face Arkansas the following week. However, their toughest slate of games is arguably in early October when Texas will face TCU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in consecutive weeks.

Fortunately for the Longhorns, they’ll get a bye after that stretch of games before they prepare to close the season. The Big 12 will be home to a handful of programs this year that have a realistic chance of being ranked at the conclusion of the season.

Although Texas has a new coaching staff in place, there’s little room for error and they’ll be tested right off the bat.

Here is Texas’ full 2021 schedule:

Big 12 Football: Five bold predictions for this upcoming season

Five BOLD predictions about the upcoming Big 12 football season.

The college football season is always full of surprises and this year is poised to include some fantastic moments.

The Big 12 very well may be in its final year, after the two faces of the conference, Texas and Oklahoma, announced they will be leaving for greener pastures in the SEC.

It was certainly breaking news to fans across college football, but it was also news to the other eight teams in the Big 12, and reportedly one team in the SEC (you know the one).

With that being said, ESPN’s Football Power Index, which ranks how teams will finish the season using team strengths along with their offensive, defensive and special teams projected value, ranked the Big 12 as one of the best conferences in the nation. The rankings had six Big 12 teams in the top 35, and seven in the top 40, making it the second-toughest conference in the nation behind the SEC.

There are huge expectations for the conference as a whole, as Oklahoma has a great team that is hoping to get that first elusive playoff win, Iowa State is looking to show they are contenders and not pretenders, and Texas has a new coach in Steve Sarkisian that is expected to lead the team to the promised land.

Here are my five bold predictions for the upcoming football season.
