Phillips earned his first career save by retiring the final two batters against Illinois on March 8.

Tennessee (43-6, 20-4 SEC) overcame an early deficit to defeat the Knights (11-36, 8-16 ASUN), 11-5.

The Volunteers, who fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, scored two runs in the bottom of the frame.

The Vols hit three home runs in the contest.

Drew Gilbert, Trey Lipscomb and Blake Burke all homered for Tennessee, who defeated Bellarmine, 9-3, earlier this season.

Gilbert went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and one double against, while Lipscomb had three hits, including a double and a home run.

Tennessee reliever Kirby Connell (2-0) earned the win. He pitched 1.1 innings, surrendering one hit and recorded one strikeout.

He was one of seven Tennessee pitchers to appear in the game.

Zander Sechrist started for the Vols.
