Redshirt sophomore defensive back Avante Dickerson becomes the latest Duck to transfer just before the Spring Game.

The Oregon Ducks football program is quickly finding out it is not immune to the transfer portal.

Several now former Ducks have entered the portal the week of the Spring Game and corner Avante Dickerson just became the latest to leave Eugene.

In his post via Twitter, the redshirt sophomore thanked the training staff and the strength coaches. He played 12 of 14 games in 2021 as a true freshman and played in just one game last season before redshirting.

Dickerson, who hails from Nebraska, was the No. 2 corner in the nation in the class of 2020, according to ESPN. The Cornhuskers will surely be knocking on his door to see if Dickerson wants to come back home.

But whether it’s Nebraska or another school, Dickerson will be a nice addition to any roster.

Tennessee offers 4-star Nebraska corner

Tennessee offers 4-star Nebraska corner.

Tennessee came late to the party for 4-star cornerback Avante Dickerson, and the Vols will have to battle it out against Dickerson’s home state Nebraska Cornhuskers.

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner from Omaha, Dickerson is right in the heart of Cornhusker country and has been pursued heavily by Nebraska head coach Scott Frost and his staff. Rated a 4-star and the No. 8 cornerback in the 2021 class, Dickerson is also the top-rated player in the state of Nebraska.

LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M are the only other SEC schools to offer Dickerson, but Texas, Iowa, Michigan and Duke are all in the mix as well.

Texas Offers 2021 Four-Star Cornerback

The Texas Longhorns have offered 2021 cornerback, Avante Dickerson. He is the top rated prospect in Nebraska and a four-star rated recruit.

With no shortage of talent available in the 2021 recruiting class, the Longhorns have set their eyes on top rated Nebraska product Avante Dickerson. He is a four-star cornerback and the number one rated recruit in the state. Dickerson announced his offer on Twitter.

Dickerson becomes the sixth cornerback to receive an offer from the Longhorns. He is also the third-highest rated cornerback to receive an offer from Texas. According to his 247 profile, he is projected to sign with his home state Cornhuskers per Crystal Ball predictions. The Longhorns are his 15th offer and his third from the Big 12 (Kansas State, Iowa State).
