Analyzing Sunday’s Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Braves (61-55) and Colorado Rockies (43-75) conclude a 3-game series Sunday. First pitch from Coors Field is set for 3:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Braves vs. Rockies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Braves broke their 6-game losing streak on Saturday 11-8 behind 2 HRs and a career-high 6 RBI from 1B Matt Olson. Atlanta also got HRs and multi-hit efforts from DH Marcell Ozuna and RF Jorge Soler. The Braves are 8-13 since the All-Star break.

A 5-run 3rd inning ended starter Dakota Hudson‘s night early. Colorado did get a big offensive performance from No. 9 hitter LF Sam Hilliard, who went 3-for-4 with a HR, double, 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs. This was the Rockies 4th loss in their last 6 games.

Braves at Rockies projected starters

RHP Spencer Schwellenbach vs. LHP Kyle Freeland

Schwellenbach (4-5, 4.04 ERA) makes his 12th career start. He has a 1.04 WHIP, 1.4 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 in 64 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 7 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 10 K in 5-3 victory against the Miami Marlins on Aug 2
  • 2024 road splits: 2-2, 3.94 ERA (29 2/3 IP, 13 ER), 0.98 WHIP, 8.2 K/9 in 5 starts
  • Has never faced the Rockies

Freeland (3-4, 5.65 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.49 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 7.8 K/9 in 63 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 7 K in a 6-3 win against the New York Mets Tuesday
  • 2024 home splits: 1-0, 2.51 ERA (28 2/3 IP, 12 R (8 ER), 1.05 WHIP, 8.5 K/9 in 5 starts
  • Career vs. Braves: 1-4, 6.26 (46 IP, 33 R (32 ER), 1.54 WHIP, 6.7 K/9 in 8 starts

Braves at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 7, Rockies 3

Moneyline

PASS.

I’ve got the Braves (-184) taking this series on Sunday, but not at those odds. I’ll take my wager to the run line.

Run line/Against the spread

BET BRAVES -1.5 (-122).

The Rockies have struck out the 2nd-most times in the MLB this season, nearly 10 times per game. Schwellenbach has nearly a 10 K/9 and has notched double-digit strikeouts in each of his last 2 starts. This would be a game I’d target the Over on Spencer’s K prop (+130 for 7+; +500 for  9+).

The Braves are 20-12 against lefties this season and hit .253 as a team against them. Freeland has not fared well against Atlanta in his career, has not beaten them in nearly 6 years.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

BET UNDER 10.5 (+100).

I know that this series has gone Over this total in each of the 1st 2 games, but I’m seeing a downturn in runs scored in the series finale. The Under has hit in Schwellenbach’s last 10 starts and believe it or not, it’s happened in 3 of Freeland’s last 4 starts.

I like Schwellenbach to keep the Rockies offense in check while the Braves take care of business against Freeland on Sunday afternoon.

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Braves (60-54) and Colorado Rockies (42-74) begin a 3-game series Friday. First pitch from Coors Field is set for 8:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Braves vs. Rockies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Braves won all 7 matchups in 2023

The Braves dropped their 5th consecutive game on Thursday, 16-7 to the Milwaukee Brewers. The pitching staff has allowed 9 runs per game and the offense has been shut out twice during the losing streak. Atlanta hits the road for a 10-game West Coast swing. They are 28-28 away from home and 50-64 against the spread (ATS).

Colorado began their homestand losing 2 of 3 to the New York Mets. 1B Pete Alonso took Rockies starter Austin Gomber deep twice in a 9-1 loss on Thursday. They are scoring less than 3 runs per game over their last 5. Colorado is 25-31 at home and 58-58 ATS.

Braves at Rockies projected starters

RHP Grant Holmes vs. RHP Tanner Gordon

Holmes (0-0, 3.00 ERA) makes his 13th career appearance and 3rd start. He has a 1.00 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9 and 9.0 K/9 in 33 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 4-3 home loss against the Miami Marlins Saturday
  • 2024 road splits: 0-0, 2.19 ERA (12 1/3 IP, 3 ER), 0.97 WHIP, 8.0 K/9 in 5 games
  • Has never pitched against the Rockies

Gordon (0-3, 6.75 ERA) makes his 5th career start. He has a 1.36 WHIP, 1.3 BB/9 and 6.8 K/9 in 21 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 3-2 defeat at Padres Saturday
  • 2024 home splits: 0-1, 7.11 ERA (6 1/3 IP, 5 ER), 1.26 WHIP, 5.7 K/9 in 1 start
  • Has never pitched against the Braves

Braves at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 6, Rockies 5

Moneyline

PASS.

I instinctually want to take the Braves because they are the better team, but the fact is they stink right now. The Rockies aren’t much better, which makes this game hard to handicap.

What makes this even tougher to pick is this pitching matchup. You’ve got 2 young inexperienced arms facing off. These 2 have a combined 6 career starts.

All that being said, I’m going to leave this wager alone and look to the run line and total for a bet.

Run line/Against the spread

BET ROCKIES +1.5 (-105).

While I don’t know if the Rockies will win this game outright, I like them on the run line. Gordon has a bit more starting experience and had his best outing of his career against the Padres in his last start. He also has the advantage of pitching in front of the home crowd. Gordon hasn’t had a chance to pitch at Coors since July 7.

The Rockies are also playing above .500 baseball at home since the All-Star break.

Over/Under

PASS.

I really want to take the Over being that it’s at Coors Field against 2 very young arms, but the trends are scaring me off of it. The teams are 3-3 against the Over in their last 6 meetings.

Atlanta is 5-5 against the Over in their last 10 and Colorado is 4-6 against the Over in their last 10. The Under has hit in Gordon’s last 2 starts and the Under hit in Holmes last start.

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta Braves at New York Mets odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Braves (54-48) and New York Mets (55-48) play the 3rd game of a 4-game series Saturday. First pitch from Citi Field is set for 4:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Braves vs. Mets odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Mets lead 5-3

After winning the Thursday opener 3-2, the Mets won 8-4 as -125 favorites in the 2nd game of the series Friday as the Over (8) hit.

Mets RHP Kodai Senga looked terrific in his season debut, allowing just 2 earned runs and striking out 9, but exited with a calf strain in the 5th inning. DH J.D. Martinez went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in the 3rd inning, helping the Mets move past the Braves in the NL Wild Card race. Mets 3B Mark Vientos and C Francisco Alvarez also hit long balls for New York, which is 28-26 at Citi Field and 52-51 against the spread (ATS) overall.

Braves RHP Charlie Morton allowed 7 runs (5 earned) in just 2 2/3 IP. Atlanta lost despite getting 2 HRs from RF Adam Duvall and another from DH Marcell Ozuna. The Braves are 24-27 on the road this season and 44-58 ATS overall.

Braves at Mets projected starters

RHP Spencer Schwellenbach vs. RHP Tylor Megill

Schwellenbach (3-5, 4.62 ERA) makes his 10th start. He has a 1.16 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9 and 8.7 K/9 in 50 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 6 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 8 K in 6-2 home defeat against St. Louis Cardinals Sunday
  • 2024 road splits: 1-2, 5.16 ERA (22 2/3 IP, 13 ER), 1.19 WHIP, 6.4 K/9 in 4 starts
  • Never faced Mets before

Megill (2-4, 5.08 ERA) makes his 9th start. He has a 1.44 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9 and 11.3 K/9 in 39 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 6 K in 9-6 home defeat against Houston Astros June 29
  • 2024 home splits: 1-2, 3.46 ERA (66 IP, 10 ER), 1.23 WHIP, 11.1 K/9 in 5 starts
  • Career vs Braves: 1-3, 4.79 ERA (41 1/3 IP, 22 ER), 1.36 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 in 9 appearances (8 starts), including 0-2 with 6.32 ERA (15 2/3 IP, 11 ER) in 3 starts last year

Who’s going yard? Here’s a breakdown of today’s best home run props with our top picks. Include the BetMGM bonus code SBWIRE to score a $1,500 first-bet offer.

Braves at Mets odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Braves -108 (bet $108 to win $100) | Mets -108 (bet $108 to win $100)
  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread: Braves -1.5 (+150) | Mets +1.5 (-182)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Braves at Mets picks and predictions

Prediction

Mets 6, Braves 4

Moneyline

BET METS (-108).

You’ve got 2 teams going in different directions at the moment. I’m going to ride the momentum with New York, which has won 5 straight and 6 of its 8 games since the All-Star break. Meanwhile, the Braves have lost 6 straight, allowing 6.5 runs per game over that stretch.

Philadelphia is also the highest-scoring team at home on the season at 5.37 runs per game, per Teamrankings.com. It hits .263 and has a 3.31 team ERA at Citizens Bank.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I’ve got my money on the moneyline, and I’ll stay away from the run line.

Over/Under

PASS.

My lean is the Over as you can tell from my score prediction, but I’m not sold enough to make it my official recommendation. These 2 teams are 10-10 O/U in their last 20 games combined. In their last 10 meetings, they are 4-6 to the Over, and they have split the 1st 2 games of this series.

I lean to the Over because of the pitchers. Megill has allowed at least 3 earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts; there will be runs scored in this game.

Atlanta Braves at Miami Marlins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta Braves at Miami Marlins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Braves (96-51) play the 2nd game of a 3-game series against the Miami Marlins (76-72) on Saturday at loanDepot park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportbook’s lines around the Braves vs. Marlins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 9-2

The Braves were defeated 9-6 in the series opener Friday. OF Ronald Acuna Jr. left the game with a calf injury in the 7th inning with calf tightness, although he appears to have avoided serious injury. Atlanta is 16 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East and already clinched the division.

Marlins 2B Luis Arraez surprisingly hit 2 home runs Friday, bringing his total to 9 on the season. Miami is currently a half-game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds, who are both tied for the 3rd Wild Card spot in the NL.

Braves at Marlins projected starters

LHP Jared Shuster vs. RHP Bryan Hoeing

Shuster (4-3, 5.26 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.41 WHIP, 4.3 BB/9 and 5.1 K/9 through 49 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Loss, 4 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K in 8-5 road defeat vs. San Francisco Giants Aug. 27
  • 2023 road stats: 1-3, 6.56 ERA (23 1/3 IP, 17 ER) in 5 starts
  • First career start vs. Marlins

Hoeing (2-2, 4.04 ERA) makes his 7th start and 31st appearance. He has a 1.22 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 7.1 K/9 through 62 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 3 IP, 5 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 3 K in 10-9 home win vs. St. Louis Cardinals on July 5
  • 2023 home stats: 1-0, 2.93 ERA (30 2/3 IP, 10 ER) in 4 starts and 8 relief appearances.
  • Career vs. Braves: 0-2, 13.03 ERA (9 2/3 IP, 14 ER) in 2 starts and 2 relief appearances

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Braves -1.5 (+118) | Marlins +1.5 (-142)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 9 (O: -118 | U: -104)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Braves at Marlins picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 6, Marlins 4

Moneyline

Even with Shuster getting the start and the chance that Acuna is out, I’ll back the BRAVES (-132) on the road in Saturday’s divisional matchup. Atlanta has gone 9-2 in the first 11 meetings with Miami this season and will want to get even after Friday’s series-opening loss.

Run line/Against the spread

BRAVES -1.5 (+118) has fantastic value as Hoeing has mightily struggled against Atlanta in his career. All 9 of Atlanta’s wins over Miami this season have come by at least 2 runs.

Over/Under

OVER 9 (-118) is the play in this contest with Shuster and Hoeing on the mound. Hoeing has given up at least 4 earned runs in 3 of his 6 starts this season.

Meanwhile, Shuster hasn’t been much better as he’s allowed 3 earned runs or more in 3 of his last 5 starts. The Over is also 9-2 in the 11 meetings between these teams this season.

Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Atlanta Braves (94-50) will play the 3rd game of a 4-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies (79-65) on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park following a doubleheader on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Braves vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 5-3

The Braves won the first game of the doubleheader 10-8 on Monday while losing the second game 7-5 despite 1B Matt Olson hitting 2 homers to reach 50 on the season. Atlanta is 5-5 in its last 10 games, but is still 15 games ahead of the Phillies for 1st place in the NL East and is the first team in MLB to clinch a postseason berth.

SS Trea Turner remained hot for the Phillies as he hit a homer in the first game and produced a multi-hit performance in the second game. Even though Philadelphia has a decent gap to close to catch Atlanta in the division race, it currently holds the top NL Wild Card.

Braves at Phillies projected starters

LHP Max Fried vs. RHP Zack Wheeler

Fried (7-1, 2.70 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.17 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 9.0 K/9 through 66 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 4 K in an 8-5 home win over the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday
  • Road stats: 5-0, 1.73 ERA (36 1/3 IP, 7 ER) in 7 starts
  • Career vs. Phillies: 4-4, 3.74 ERA (74 2/3 IP, 31 ER) in 12 starts and 6 relief appearances

Wheeler (11-6, 3.49 ERA) makes his 29th start. He has a 1.05 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9 and 10.2 K/9 through 170 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 7 K in a 5-1 road victory against the San Diego Padres Wednesday
  • Home stats: 4-2, 3.80 ERA (73 1/3 IP, 31 ER) in 12 starts

Braves at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 5, Phillies 4

Moneyline

With a solid pitching matchup on Tuesday, I’ll back the BRAVES (-125) on the road. Atlanta has won 4 of the last 5 meetings with Philadelphia this season.

Run line/Against the spread

PHILLIES +1.5 (-160) is the play in this contest despite taking the Braves to win the divisional bout. Wheeler is coming off a stellar start and Philadelphia’s lineup has been swinging a hot bat recently.

Over/Under

OVER 8.5 (-120) is how I’d wager on the run total in a game between 2 teams that have talented lineups. The Braves and the Phillies have both tallied at least 5 runs in 5 of the first 8 meetings this season.

The Over is also 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings.

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The St. Louis Cardinals (61-78) will conclude a 3-game series against the Atlanta Braves (90-48) on Thursday at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. Braves odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 3-2

The Cardinals beat the Braves 11-6 on Wednesday as they produced 6 earned runs on RHP Spencer Strider before the 3rd inning ended. St. Louis has won 3 straight games, but it remains in last place in the NL Central and is 11 games back of the final NL Wild Card.

Braves 1B Matt Olson hit his league-leading 46th homer of the season and 3B Austin Riley hit his 34th homer in Wednesday’s loss. Atlanta is on a 3-game losing skid but is still 13 1/2 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies for 1st place in the NL East.

Cardinals at Braves projected starters

RHP Adam Wainwright vs. LHP Max Fried

Wainwright (3-10, 8.10 ERA) makes his 19th start. He has a 1.98 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9 and 4.9 K/9 through 83 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Loss, 6 IP, 1 ER, 8 H, 3 BB, 1 K in 4-1 home defeat vs. Diego Padres on Aug. 28.
  • 2023 road stats: 2-3, 8.67 ERA (36 1/3 IP, 35 ER) in 8 starts
  • Career vs. Braves: 10-4, 3.42 ERA (108 IP, 41 ER) in 16 starts and 5 relief appearances

Fried (6-1, 2.52 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.15 WHIP, 1.9 BB/9 and 9.3 K/9 through 60 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 10 K in a 6-3 road victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday
  • 2023 home stats: 1-1, 3.70 ERA (24 1/3 IP, 10 ER) in 4 starts

Cardinals at Braves picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 7, Cardinals 3

Moneyline

While the Braves (-300) should easily win Thursday, just AVOID taking their moneyline in this matchup. Risking 3 times your potential return isn’t advised, no matter how much of a lock a team seems to be.

Run line/Against the spread

Taking a team to win by at least 3 runs is unusual in baseball, but I’ll take the BRAVES -2.5 (-115) at home against an aging Wainwright. Wainwright has given up 6 earned runs or more in 3 of his last 5 starts, and the Braves boast the best lineup in the league.

Over/Under

UNDER 10.5 (-115) is the lean in this game despite Wainwright’s woes on the mound. There’s certainly a chance the Braves can hit the Over themselves, but with Fried pitching for Atlanta, it’s hard to envision the Cardinals having much success at the plate.

Since the beginning of August, the Cardinals have the 13th-lowest ISO (.160), the 10th-lowest wOBA (.301), and the 10th-lowest wRC+ (89) against left-handed pitching.

Season series: Braves lead 3-2

The Braves secured a 6-3 victory over the Dodgers Friday as OF Ronald Acuna hit his 31st home run and DH Marcell Ozuna hit his 32nd home run of the season. Atlanta is amid a 5-game winning streak and is 15 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies atop the NL East.

In Friday’s 3-run loss, 2B Kolten Wong provided the lone 3 runs for the Dodgers as he hit a 3-run homer as a pinch hitter in the 8th inning. Los Angeles is 7-3 in its last 10 games and is 13 1/2 games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks for 1st place in the NL West.

Braves at Dodgers projected starters

RHP Bryce Elder vs. RHP Emmet Sheehan

Elder (11-4, 3.50 ERA) makes his 27th start. He has a 1.21 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 6.4 K/9 through 149 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 4 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 4 K in a 14-4 road win against the Colorado Rockies on August 28.
  • Road stats: 5-3, 4.04 ERA (69 IP, 31 ER) in 12 starts.
  • Career vs. Dodgers: 0-0, 1.50 ERA (6 IP, 1 ER) in 1 start.

Sheehan (3-1, 5.63 ERA) makes his 8th start and 9th appearance. He has a 1.28 WHIP, 4.2 BB/9 and 7.0 K/9 through 38 1/3 IP.

  • The club announced Sheehan will either get the start or pitch bulk innings in relief
  • Last start: No-decision, 4 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K Aug. 3 against Oakland Athletics
  • Home stats: 1-0, 3.28 ERA, 0.85 WHIP in 5 games, 4 starts

Braves at Dodgers picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 7, Dodgers 4

Moneyline

Regardless of whether Sheehan starts or they use an opener, I’ll side with the BRAVES (-110) on the road. Elder has been credited with a win in 3 straight starts, and the Braves have won 9 of their last 10 games.

Run line/Against the spread

BRAVES -1.5 (+145) has fantastic value as the Dodgers have yet to announce a starter for Saturday’s matchup. Atlanta has won by at least 2 runs in 8 of its last 9 wins.

Over/Under

OVER 10 (-105) is how I’d wager on the run total with the Braves boasting the best lineup in baseball and the Dodgers not being far behind. Elder has been formidable in Atlanta’s rotation, but he doesn’t force many swings and misses, which could lead to Los Angeles producing a few runs at home.

The Over is 4-1 in the first 5 meetings this season.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Mets (59-67) play the 2nd game of a 3-game series against the Atlanta Braves (80-44) on Tuesday at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET (TBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mets vs. Braves odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 8-3

The Mets defeated the Braves 10-4 Monday as OF DJ Stewart, OF Rafael Ortega, and SS Francisco Lindor all homered. New York has won 5 of its last 6 contests, but it remains in 4th place in the NL East race.

In Monday’s lopsided loss to the Mets, DH Marcell Ozuna hit 2 solo HRs  for the Braves. Atlanta has lost 2 straight games, however, it is still 12 1/2 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies for 1st place in the NL East.

Mets at Braves projected starters

RHP Tylor Megill vs. RHP Bryce Elder

Megill (7-6, 5.53 ERA) makes his 19th start. He has a 1.70 WHIP, 4.6 BB/9 and 7.2 K/9 in 86 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 4 BB, 5 K in an 8-3 home win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday
  • Road stats: 2-4, 8.20 ERA (37 1/3 IP, 34 ER) in 9 starts
  • Career vs. Braves: 1-2, 4.66 ERA (36 2/3 IP, 19 ER) in 7 starts and 1 relief appearance

Mets at Braves picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 7, Mets 4

Moneyline

It’s hard to see the Braves losing 3 straight games, but I’ll PASS on wagering on the costly moneyline in this divisional showdown.

Run line/Against the spread

After getting blown out on Monday, I’ll take the BRAVES -1.5 (-125) at home on Tuesday with Elder on the mound. The Braves have defeated the Mets by at least 2 runs in 7 of their 8 wins against their division rivals this season.

Over/Under

OVER 10.5 (-115) is the lean in this matchup as Megill has been giving up runs often this season. Megill has surrendered at least 4 ER in 3 of his last 4 starts.

Since the start of August, the Braves boast the 3rd-best ISO (.217), the best wOBA (.372), and the 2nd-best wRC+ (132) against right-handed pitching. On top of that, the Over is 3-1 in the last 4 meetings this season.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Mets (58-67) open a 3-game series against the Atlanta Braves (80-43) on Monday at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mets vs. Braves odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 8-2

The Mets had a 4-game win streak snapped with a 7-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday. New York is still 23 games behind Atlanta in the NL East despite that it went 6-4 in its last 10 contests, and remains 7 games back of an NL Wild Card.

The Braves fell to the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on Sunday, snapping a 5-game win streak. Atlanta is 8-2 in its last 10 games and is 13 1/2 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies for 1st place in the division. The Braves are expected to get a spot start RHP Allan Winans in Monday’s contest.

Mets at Braves projected starters

LHP David Peterson vs. RHP Allan Winans

Peterson (3-7, 5.45 ERA) makes his 15th start and 21st appearance. He has a 1.65 WHIP, 4.5 BB/9 and 9.8 K/9 through 72 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 3 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 6 BB, 5 K in 7-4 home loss vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday

Mets at Braves picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 6, Mets 3

Moneyline

While the Braves should take care of business at home on Monday, just AVOID their moneyline in this game at over -200 odds.

Run line/Against the spread

BRAVES -1.5 (-115) is the play in this NL East bout as Atlanta boasts the best ISO (.240), the best wOBA (.379) and the 2nd-best wRC+ (137) against left-handed pitching since the start of July. The Braves have won by at least 2 runs in 7 of their 8 wins against the Mets this season.

Over/Under

UNDER 10 (-115) is the lean in this game despite the Braves being capable of hitting the Over themselves. However, the Over is 5-5 in the last 10 meetings overall and Winans should limit New York’s lineup for a 2nd time this season.

San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Francisco Giants (64-59) close out a 3-game series against the Atlanta Braves (80-42) on Sunday at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Giants vs. Braves odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Braves lead 2-0

The Giants lost 6-5 to the Braves on Saturday despite multi-hit performances from 1B Lamonte Wade Jr., OF Michael Conforto, 3B J.D. Davis, and C Blake Sabol. San Francisco has lost 8 of its last 10 games and is now 12 games behind the 1st-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

In Saturday’s 1-run victory, the Braves got HRs from OF Ronald Acuna and OF Eddie Rosario. Atlanta is on a 5-game winning streak and has extended its lead in the NL East to 13 1/2 games.

Giants at Braves projected starters

RHP Jakob Junis vs. LHP Max Fried

Junis (3-3, 4.10 ERA) makes his 3rd start and 33rd appearance. He has a 1.37 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 10.7 K/9 in 68 innings.

  • Last start: No decision, 4 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 7 K in a 7-0 home win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday
  • Road stats: 3-2, 3.93 ERA (34 1/3 IP, 15 ER) in 15 relief appearances
  • Career vs. Braves: 0-1, 7.20 ERA (5 IP, 4 ER) in 1 start

Giants at Braves picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 5, Giants 3

Moneyline

The Braves should extend their winning streak to 6 games on Sunday, but taking their moneyline at the current odds (-250) isn’t advised. PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The Giants were the lean when the line was +2.5 (-130), but the Braves -1.5 (-135) doesn’t seem worth it, although Atlanta is fully capable of winning by multiple runs. Junis is only making his 3rd start this season, but the bullpen of the Giants is tied for the 5th-lowest wOBA (.296) allowed.

Over/Under

UNDER 9 (-110) is the play as Fried should have success against a Giants team that leans on plenty of lefties in their lineup. Meanwhile, it’s always risky betting an Under when the Braves are involved.

The Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall.
