UCLA at Arizona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s UCLA at Arizona odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 UCLA Bruins (16-2, 8-1 Pac-12) travel to McKale Center for a meeting with the No. 5 Arizona Wildcats (17-2, 7-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the UCLA vs. Arizona odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Bruins will have G Johnny Juzang active after he cleared health and safety protocols. Juzang leads the team in scoring with an average of 18.1 points per game.

However, F Jaime Jaquez Jr. is questionable with an ankle sprain and G Jaylen Clark is expected to be out with a concussion. Clark is the team’s top threat off the bench.

The Wildcats are coming off a 67-56 home victory over Arizona State, a game in which they pulled away late after being knotted up at 32 at the half.

Arizona is 1-2 against ranked opponents with losses to then-No. 19 Tennessee Dec. 22 and then-No. 8 UCLA Jan. 25 while defeating now-No. 18 Illinois when they were unranked Dec. 11. UCLA beat Arizona by 16 at home the first time these two teams met.

UCLA at Arizona odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

UCLA 74, Arizona 72

Money line

SPRINKLE on UCLA (+230). The Bruins easily took down the Wildcats the first time around as they held Arizona’s leading-scorer G Bennedict Mathurin to 5-for-22 from the field.

The Wildcats have the nation’s third-highest scoring offense at 86 points per game but managed just 59 against an experienced Bruins. I think the Bruins come out on top and improve on their 5-0 road record.

Against the spread

BET on UCLA +6.5 (-110).

This is the best play in the game as all a bettor is banking on is a close game. UCLA took a tough loss to Gonzaga Nov. 23 but their only other loss on the season was a 3-point overtime defeat to Oregon Jan. 13.

The Bruins have covered four straight games while the Wildcats have failed to cover two straight. The Bruins should come out and limit Arizona yet against considering they hold opponents to just 63.9 points per game.

Over/Under

PASS on the total with a slight lean to the Under 148.5 (-112).

Arizona is 3-5 O/U and UCLA is 3/6 in conference games. I expect a hard-fought, close game which should produce fewer points, much like the last time these two teams met.

Arizona at Stanford odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Arizona Wildcats at Stanford Cardinal odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 3 Arizona Wildcats (14-1, 4-0 Pac-12) visit the Stanford Cardinal (10-5, 3-2) for a Thursday 11 p.m. ET battle at Maples Pavilion in Tucson, Arizona. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. Stanford odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Arizona lost a non-conference game at Tennessee Dec. 22. The Wildcats have since had three lost dates and three easy wins. On Saturday, F Azuolas Tubelis scored 32 points in an 82-64 rout of Utah. Tubelis has scored 15.9 points per game for a Wildcat five leading the Pac-12 in scoring (88.5 PPG).

Stanford lost 67-64 at Washington Saturday, snapping a four-game win streak. SU was a minus-13 in turnovers (the Cardinal committed 21 miscues in the game). Stanford ranks last in the league and in the bottom-50 in NCAA-I in turnover rate.

Arizona at Stanford odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 79, Stanford 68

Money line

Too high a price and not enough return. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Against the spread

Arizona is 1-4 ATS in its last five games. Stanford is 5-1 ATS in its last six games.

Arizona is playing its first road games since Dec. 22 and just its second since Dec. 11. Stanford is coming off a bad game but has been trending the right way over recent weeks.

The Wildcats should be able to leverage Stanford turnovers into a two or three-possession cushion most of the way. But the home venue and strong Cardinal rebounding give the home five enough of a pushback to make them a value.

TAKE STANFORD +11.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The total has gone Under in four of Arizona’s last five games. And the Under has hit in 5-of-the-last-7 games in this series.

Look for two young teams to engage in a contest decided more inside the arc and with enough Stanford presence in the paint to slow the Wildcat tempo.

TAKE THE UNDER 150.5 (-107).

Arizona at Tennessee odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Arizona at Tennessee odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 Arizona Wildcats (11-0) and No. 19 Tennessee Volunteers (8-2) will tangle in a Wednesday contest at 7 p.m. ET at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. Tennessee odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The nation’s top offense has propelled Arizona to 11 consecutive victories to start the season. Averaging 91.0 points per game, the Wildcats have blitzed through a slate that has thus far included two true road contests (Dec. 5 at Oregon State, Dec. 11 at Illinois). Arizona is quite good on the boards, but it’s the team’s 2-point field-goal shooting and defense that has it heading into a challenging flip-of-the-calendar stretch with an unblemished record.

The Volunteers have won two games since their most recent loss, a Dec. 7 setback to Texas Tech in overtime. But Tennessee hasn’t played since Dec. 14. The loss to the Red Raiders was at Madison Square Garden. The Vols are 6-0 at home.

Arizona at Tennessee odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 79, Arizona 74

Money line

Arizona has outshot foes by a near-20% margin inside the arc, but Tennessee presents decent depth in its front court — enough so to at least cut into that Wildcat leverage.

The Vols are a high-frequency team from 3-point-land, and they’ve been dialed in over recent home games (43.7% last three games at Thompson-Boling Arena).

UT is the lean, but this price is on the edge. PASS, and look to bet Tennessee on anything under -125.

Against the spread

The Volunteers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Tennessee may be a better-defense, faster-tempo version of Illinois, a team that was up on Arizona through large swaths of an eventual 4-point loss to the Wildcats Dec. 11.

BACK THE VOLUNTEERS -1.5 (-108).

Over/Under

No room to operate on what looks like a solid total: STEER CLEAR.

Arizona at Arizona State odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Arizona at Arizona State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Wildcats (1-10, 1-7 Pac-12) visit the Arizona State Sun Devils (7-4, 5-3) Saturday at State Farm Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. Arizona State odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Wildcats were dumped 44-18 at Washington State last time out, snapping a 4-0 ATS run for Arizona. The Over has connected in three of the past four for Arizona.

The Sun Devils, who laid a 70-7 beatdown on the Wildcats in last season’s installment of this rivalry, has won two of the past three games overall, while going just 1-4 ATS in the previous five. The Under is also 3-1 across the past four.

Arizona at Arizona State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona State 30, Arizona 19

Money line

Arizona State (-1200) is facing a 1-10 team from Arizona (+700), but it’s a rivalry game, and you just never know. Last season the Wildcats were embarrassed 70-7 in this game, and they’ll be doing everything in their power to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

PASS, and look to the line instead.

Against the spread

ARIZONA +20.5 (-115) is in a much better place than it was last year, even though it has just one win to show for its efforts. The Wildcats were blown out last week at Wazzu, but have covered four of the past five. Arizona might not be winning, but it’s not giving up, either. They’re like the Detroit Lions of the Pac-12. The record isn’t good at all, but they’re playing hard and grabbing covers.

Over/Under

The UNDER 53.5 (-112) is the lean in this rivalry game. Yes, the Over is 3-1 in the past four for Arizona, as it has allowed 38 or more points in three of the past four. But the Wildcats should be able to clamp down on the Sun Devils, a team that scored just 10 at Oregon State week, and has hit the Under in three of the past four.

Arizona at Washington State odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Arizona Wildcats at Washington State Cougars odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Wildcats (1-9, 1-6 Pac-12) visit the Washington State Cougars (5-5, 4-3) Friday at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. Washington State odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Wildcats edged California 10-3 at home Nov. 6, and put up a strong fight against Utah in a 38-29 loss at home last Saturday, covering the spread in both games. In fact, Arizona has covered four a in row, and three of the past four games have been decided by one score. This is a team out of bowl consideration, but they’re not giving up.

The Cougars were on the short end of a 38-24 loss at Oregon last week. It’s their second loss in the past three games as they slipped to .500. Wazzu still needs one more win to become bowl eligible, a feat in a trying year which saw the head coach and some staff members fired for refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Arizona at Washington State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Washington State 29, Arizona 21

Money line

Washington State (-700) will cost you seven times your potential return. That’s just too much risk for not enough reward.

The Cougars will win and become bowl eligible, but you can’t risk this much for such a meager profit, especially since the Wildcats have been a thorn in the side of their opponents lately.

PASS.

Against the spread

ARIZONA +14.5 (-110) is a strong play catching two-plus touchdowns on the road. Yes, the overall record is putrid, and the possibility of a bowl was lost back in October, but the Wildcats keep plugging away, trying to get better every week. They enter on a 4-0 ATS run, with three of those games decided by just one score.

Over/Under

The UNDER 52.5 (-110) is the lean, ever so slightly. You can look to the series trends, which show Over in each of the past five meetings, and five of the past six battles on the Palouse. But these programs are completely transformed from those days. Former head coach Mike Leach and his Air Raid offense are gone, and so is recent head coach Todd Rolovich, for that matter. Arizona has struggled to put points on the board this year, too.

The Wildcats have hit the Under in 11 of the past 16 as underdogs, and the Cougs have cashed the Under in six of the past eight overall, and five of the previous seven Pac-12 games. Those are way more pertinent trends.

Utah at Arizona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Utah Utes at Arizona Wildcats odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Utah Utes (6-3, 5-1 Pac-12) take on the Arizona Wildcats (1-8, 1-5) Saturday at Arizona Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET. Below, we look at Utah at Arizona odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Utah is coming into this game with a mere three losses.

The Utes have been hot lately, defeating Stanford by 45 and UCLA by 20. They’ll open as heavy favorites vs. the Wildcats with their most challenging test, Oregon, still on deck next weekend.

As for Arizona, it has struggled mightily. Its only win of the season was actually last week against Cal.

While the Wildcats have eight losses, they’ve hung close in many games, so don’t be shocked if they cover a relatively large spread. They’ve lost four of eight by one score.

Utah at Arizona odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 11:06 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Utah -2500 (bet $2,500 to win $100) | Arizona +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Utah -24.5(-108) | Arizona +24.5 (-112)

Utah at Arizona odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Utah 38, Arizona 17

Money line

PASS.

This is easy. Utah shouldn’t be upset, but betting its money line still offers no value. Betting the +1000 is wasting money as well. Just look elsewhere unless you want to tag Utah in a parlay which will barely increase the return.

Against the spread

BET ARIZONA +24.5 (-112) as the Wildcats have actually held most opponents close.

Yes, Arizona has just one win over a terrible Cal team, but even the top-five Oregon Ducks didn’t cover this wide a margin. Oregon beat Arizona 41-19 earlier in the season.

The Wildcats average over 130 yards on the ground per game. Utah gives up 142.7 rushing yards per game. While the same can be said for the Utes in terms of their offensive output, there’s no denying that Arizona is the better play.

Utah has only one win of 25 points or more this season, being the victory against Stanford. It didn’t even beat Weber State by more than 24. This is a wide margin, and while Utah should win, covering is a different story.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 54.5 (-110) as both teams can run the ball at a high level.

The Utes rank in the top 15 in rushing yards per game at 218.9. Arizona won’t be able to slow them down. Overall, Utah is notching over 430 yards per game. It has a dynamic offense.

With Arizona having put up 16 or more in three straight games as well, I expect the Over to hit in this one with it being more likely Utah getting the bulk of the points.

Arizona at USC odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Arizona Wildcats at USC Trojans odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Wildcats (0-7, 0-4 Pac-12) and USC Trojans (3-4, 2-3) meet Saturday in United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. USC odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Wildcats have lost all seven games so far, but they aren’t giving up. Arizona put up a valiant effort in a 21-16 loss against Washington last Friday, covering a 17-point number. The Under has hit in three straight for UA.

The Trojans haven’t exactly had the season they envisioned. USC was dropped 31-16 on the road vs. Notre Dame last week, following a 42-26 setback to Utah. USC is 1-3 SU/ATS across the past four outings.

Arizona at USC odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 31, Arizona 13

Money line

USC (-1600) is just way too expensive given its results this season. It will cost you 16 times your potential return, or a $6 profit on a $100 wager.

AVOID.

Against the spread

ARIZONA +21.5 (-107) is worth a small-unit play, as it should be able to keep it within three touchdowns at the Coliseum. The trends are all awful for the Wildcats, but they’re not terribly good for the Trojans, either.

USC is just 1-4 ATS in the past five at home and 0-4 ATS across the past four at home against a team with a losing road mark.

Over/Under

UNDER 55.5 (-107) is a strong play, cashing in six of the past seven meetings in this series.

More importantly, the Under is 4-1 in the previous five outings for Arizona, hitting in nine of the last 12 league games, too.

USC hit the Under last time out, and while it should put up a decent amount of points on the winless Wildcats. Arizona is scoring just 14.3 PPG to rank 127th in the nation out of 130 FBS teams.

Washington at Arizona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Washington Huskies at Arizona Wildcats odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Huskies (2-4, 1-2 Pac-12) travel to meet the Arizona Wildcats (0-6, 0-3) Friday at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Washington vs. Arizona odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Huskies started the season ranked in the Top 25, but they fell to FCS Montana. A trip to Michigan resulted in an 0-2 start, and they enter this one with losses at Oregon State and home to UCLA. Washington is just 1-5 ATS across its six games overall.

The Wildcats have had tremendous difficulty this season, losing their past four games against FBS opponents by 18 or more points. Arizona hit rock bottom last week in a 34-0 loss at Colorado, and the Wildcats are now 1-4 ATS across the past five outings.

Washington at Arizona odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Washington 31, Arizona 10

Money line

Washington (-1100) will cost you 11 times your potential return. While Arizona (+650) should be the elixir to cure the ills of the Huskies, it’s just too risky on a 2-4 SU team, especially on the road.

AVOID, and look to the spread.

Against the spread

WASHINGTON -17.5 (-112) is worth a small-unit play, only because Arizona +17.5 (-108) is so bad.

If the Huskies can get into the 30’s, the Wildcats have shown they cannot keep up. Arizona has scored 19 or fewer points in every game this season, ranking 129th out of 130 teams with 14.0 PPG. And defensively, Arizona has allowed 202.2 yards per game on the ground, 112th in the country.

Over/Under

UNDER 46.5 (-108) is the lean, as Arizona’s offense is horrific. The Under is 4-1 across the past five for Washington, while going 3-1 in the past four for Arizona.

The Under is also 16-5-1 in Washington’s last 22 games on the road, and 10-4-1 in the previous 15 as a road favorite. Look for plenty of defense.

Arizona at Colorado odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Arizona at Colorado odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Wildcats (0-5, 0-2 Pac-12) visit the Colorado Buffaloes (1-4, 0-2) in a Saturday 3:30 p.m. ET game at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. Colorado odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Arizona has failed to score 20 points in any game this fall, and its 16.8-point-per-game average ranks 123rd in the nation. The Wildcats are coming off a 34-16 loss to UCLA. But the ‘Cats trailed by just 1 point (17-16) with 23 minutes remaining before fading late.

The Buffaloes won last year’s meeting, 24-13, snapping a three-game UA series win streak. The 2021 Buffs were highly competitive against ranked Texas A&M in Week 2, but they have struggled mightily since. Colorado enters this game on a four-game losing streak; the team’s lone win this season came against FCS Northern Colorado.

Arizona at Colorado odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 21, Arizona 17

Money line

We like Colorado here, but it’s not a resounding confidence at the -270 odds. PASS.

Against the spread

The road team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine series meetings, and the Wildcats are 4-0 ATS across their last four visits to Boulder, Colo.

Arizona has played the much tougher schedule to date. The Wildcats hung in against UCLA, better than what showed in the final score. They outgained Oregon in a game frittered away by a minus-5 in turnovers. And they outgained BYU in a season-opening loss to the Cougars.

Figure Arizona’s defense getting some quick stops, and the Wildcat offense managing a few scores in a low-scoring contest.

TAKE ARIZONA +6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Without some defense/special teams chicanery or an abundance of turnover-fueled short-field scores, it’s difficult to game-flow this one into the 50s. Neither offense is likely to get in a groove.

BACK THE UNDER 46.5 (-110).

UCLA at Arizona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UCLA at Arizona odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The UCLA Bruins (3-2, 1-1 Pac 12) head to Tucson, Ariz. to face the Arizona Wildcats (0-4, 0-1) Saturday. Kickoff at Arizona Stadium is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the UCLA at Arizona odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

It has been a rollercoaster season for UCLA, which started its season with impressive wins over Hawaii and LSU, but have stumbled with two losses in its last three games. RB Zach Charbonnet leads a top-30 UCLA rushing attack that’s averaging over 200 yards per game, while QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson has a 10/1 TD/INT ratio with 9.0 yards per attempt through the air.

UCLA’s defense has been susceptible against the pass (321.4 passing yards allowed per game; 128th nationally), but that might not be a problem against an Arizona offense that hasn’t scored 20 points in any of its first four games.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, who are in a transition year under new coach Jedd Fisch, the defense hasn’t been much better. It’s allowing 5.7 yards per play which ranks 84th nationally. Arizona is 2-2 against the spread this year, most recently covering as a 29-point underdog to No. 9 Oregon (19-41) in Week 4.

UCLA at Arizona odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

UCLA 34, Arizona 24

Money line

There’s too much of a discrepancy between these two teams to warrant a play on the money line. UCLA is a heavy favorite, but at -700, you aren’t getting enough return on investment here. PASS.

Against the spread

Both UCLA and Arizona have been tight against the spread with 3-2 and 2-2 records, respectively. The Bruins have only won one game by more than this 15.5-point spread all year, while Arizona has at least played its Power 5 opponents close, most recently entering the fourth quarter down 19-24 against Oregon.

Consider this a slight lean to the heavy home underdog and take ARIZONA +15.5 (-108) to cover.

Over/Under

Four of UCLA’s last five games have gone Over this number, but Arizona’s inability to score coupled with its semi-decent pass defense makes it tough for this one to approach 60 total points.

Take the UNDER 60.5 (-108).
