USC at Arizona odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USC at Arizona odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The USC Trojans (6-1, 4-1 Pac-12) take on the Arizona Wildcats (3-4, 1-3) Saturday at Arizona Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the USC vs. Arizona odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The chance at an undefeated season ended for the Trojans 2 weeks ago in a 43-42 loss to Utah, though they managed to cover the 3.5-point spread. USC has defeated Arizona 9 straight times and the program will look to extend its winning streak over its Pac-12 adversary on Saturday.

It has been a roller-coaster season for the Wildcats as they come off 2 straight losses for the 1st time this season, losing to Washington and Oregon. Arizona hasn’t fared well in conference games thus far, but they’ll look to pull off the massive upset on Saturday at home.

USC is No. 11 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

USC at Arizona picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 45, Arizona 27

Moneyline

Go ahead and PASS on the moneyline in this game with the Trojans being massive favorites on the road. USC should be able to come away with the win, but taking them straight up isn’t worth the risk considering the minimal return you’ll receive.

Against the spread

TROJANS -15.5 (-110) is an enticing wager as USC should have no issues moving the ball with QB Caleb Williams at the helm. Meanwhile, Arizona QB Jayden De Laura has struggled with turnovers at times, which could lead to more possessions for the Trojans.

The Wildcats are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a bye week and they are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games against a team with a winning road record.

Over/Under

It’s fun to root for the Over in every single game because who doesn’t love more scoring? That being said, UNDER 76.5 (-112) is where I’m going in this game with it being such a lofty number to reach.

The Under has hit in each of the last 4 meetings between the Trojans and the Wildcats when the game was in Arizona. On top of that, the Under has hit in 6 of the last 8 meetings overall.

USC at Arizona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s USC Trojans at Arizona Wildcats odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets in a Pac-12 battle.

The No. 19 USC Trojans (19-3, 9-3 Pac-12) visit the No. 5 Arizona Wildcats (18-2, 8-1) for a Saturday tussle in Tucson, Ariz. The contest at the McKale Center is slated to tip off at 5 p.m. ET (on FOX). Below, we look at the USC vs. Arizona odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

USC squeaked by host Arizona State 58-53 Thursday. The Trojans won despite shooting just 30.0% from the floor. The Pac-12’s second-leading defensive team (63.0 points allowed per game) has now held foes under 60 points in seven games this season.

The Wildcats defeated No. 4 UCLA 76-66 Thursday. The win marked a measure of retribution for Arizona’s lone Pac-12 loss – the Wildcats lost to the Bruins 75-59 Jan. 25. Thursday, the Wildcats held the Bruins to 38.9% shooting from the floor, the fourth time in the last five games UA held an opponent under 40%.

USC at Arizona odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 79, USC 71

Money line

PASS.

Look to viable options against the number and total.

Against the spread

The underdog has won five in a row ATS in this series with USC going 5-1 ATS across the last six games vs. Arizona. Plus, the Trojans are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games versus teams over-.500 at home.

Look for USC to get a second-chance edge and stay in this game. The Trojans have also improved in their ability to get to the stripe. A shooting bounce-back and some putbacks and foul-line tosses get Southern Cal into two-possession territory.

TAKE USC +10.5 (-107).

Over/Under

The Over is 4-1 in USC’s last five games versus winning teams.

Arizona plays at a lightning-fast tempo. Both defenses are trending a bit the wrong way.

The OVER 148.5 (-115) has some value here.

Arizona at USC odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Arizona Wildcats at USC Trojans odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Wildcats (0-7, 0-4 Pac-12) and USC Trojans (3-4, 2-3) meet Saturday in United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Arizona vs. USC odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Wildcats have lost all seven games so far, but they aren’t giving up. Arizona put up a valiant effort in a 21-16 loss against Washington last Friday, covering a 17-point number. The Under has hit in three straight for UA.

The Trojans haven’t exactly had the season they envisioned. USC was dropped 31-16 on the road vs. Notre Dame last week, following a 42-26 setback to Utah. USC is 1-3 SU/ATS across the past four outings.

Arizona at USC odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 31, Arizona 13

Money line

USC (-1600) is just way too expensive given its results this season. It will cost you 16 times your potential return, or a $6 profit on a $100 wager.

AVOID.

Against the spread

ARIZONA +21.5 (-107) is worth a small-unit play, as it should be able to keep it within three touchdowns at the Coliseum. The trends are all awful for the Wildcats, but they’re not terribly good for the Trojans, either.

USC is just 1-4 ATS in the past five at home and 0-4 ATS across the past four at home against a team with a losing road mark.

Over/Under

UNDER 55.5 (-107) is a strong play, cashing in six of the past seven meetings in this series.

More importantly, the Under is 4-1 in the previous five outings for Arizona, hitting in nine of the last 12 league games, too.

USC hit the Under last time out, and while it should put up a decent amount of points on the winless Wildcats. Arizona is scoring just 14.3 PPG to rank 127th in the nation out of 130 FBS teams.

  • Over/Under: 137.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

USC at Arizona: Three things to know

  1. Southern California is 2-1 since enduring a 20-day, COVID-19-induced hiatus in December. USC is coming off a 64-46 win over Utah Saturday, a victory that saw the Trojans convert on 53.2% of their field-goal attempts. USC leads the Pac-12 in shooting accuracy, at 48.2%. The Trojans rank second in the circuit in 3-point accuracy (36.7%); they are inexplicably shooting just 60.5% (12th) from the free-throw line.
  2. A youthful Trojans rotation (five upperclassmen among top-10 in minutes) is led by seven-footer PF Evan Mobley. The freshman is averaging 15.0 PPG on the strength of a 58.7% mark from the field. Mobley is averaging 8.0 rebounds per contest. He’s the younger brother of sophomore Isaiah Mobley, who is averaging 8.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for USC.
  3. Arizona counters with an impressive freshman of its own in G Bennedict Mathurin, who is averaging 10.6 PPG and 4.9 RPG. The 6-foot-7 newcomer led the Wildcats in scoring in a weekend sweep of Washington and Washington State. He was selected as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, averaging 18.5 PPG and 8.5 RPG over those two contests.

USC at Arizona: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Arizona 71, USC 69

Money line (ML)

USC is a talented and tall team and it can get it done at both ends of the floor. The Trojans are playing their first true road game after two neutral-site games in early December. They lost by just five last year at Arizona (85-80, Feb. 6), and that was a less talented USC five in a rough stretch of its season.

In a vacuum, the lean is on Arizona in a close game but TAKE USC +170 as decent value with this ML tag.

Against the spread (ATS)

Southern Cal is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games, 4-1 ATS in its last five games vs. Arizona and 6-1 ATS in its last seven road games.

USC’s ability to defend near the bucket (and defend any shot period) is the difference-maker here. TAKE USC +4.5 (-110) … and consider the line as likely moving toward the Trojans side during the day.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO WIGGLE ROOM HERE — PASS. Expect a mid-tempo game with the winner of a close battle scoring 70 or 71 points.

USC at Arizona: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

USC 41, Arizona 20

Money line (ML)

USC has offense. Arizona’s defense is developing, but the Wildcats are still building their team. They are not at all on the same level as the Trojans. Slovis will have no problem picking apart the secondary. There isn’t much money in it, so betting the money line won’t win you much, but it is a sure thing. If you want to bet the money line, take USC (-556), but you are better off betting the spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

USC narrowly got the win over Arizona State but failed to cover the spread. The Trojans have the advantage of being the better team and having played a game, while Arizona has not yet been able to get those first live snaps under its belt. This will be a blowout. Take USC -14 (-121).

Over/Under (O/U)

USC won’t have any problem scoring points, but it will keep Arizona from scoring enough to go Over the projected total. Take UNDER 67.5 (-110).
