Notre Dame gets a crystal ball pick for 2025 4-star linebacker

The Irish are in great position to land the 4-star linebacker

Notre Dame football is looking to add more elite prospects to its 2025 recruiting class and Pennsylvania linebacker [autotag]Anthony Sacca[/autotag] is one of the top targets.

The 6-foot, 3-inch and 225-pound prospect fits the mold of a Mike linebacker, and at the moment it looks like the Irish will find that out soon. 247Sports insider Tom Loy logged a crystal ball for the No. 187 overall prospect and 25th ‘backer in the 247Sports Composite Rankings to eventually commit to Notre Dame.

The Irish class is starting to get pretty full, with already 18 commitments, but with just one other linebacker, Ko’o Kia, making Sacca an important recruit.

There is no timetable for Sacca to make a verbal at the moment, but it’s looking good for Notre Dame when it does happen.

Five 2025 prospects who could be next to commit to Alabama

Alabama currently has three commits for the 2025 recruiting class. Here are 5 prospects who could be next to commit to the Crimson Tide.

Alabama currently has three commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. The new coaching staff has landed one commitment in the class, with others coming from the Nick Saban-led staff. That is four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman, who recently committed to the Crimson Tide on Saturday.

With the dead period ending on Monday, there will be recruits from all across the country visiting various schools. More specifically, there will be several recruits that make their way to Tuscaloosa to visit Alabama and the new-look Crimson Tide staff.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at five recruits who could be next to commit to Alabama as a part of the 2025 recruiting class.

Notre Dame football is in top five for 4-star Pennsylvania linebacker

The Irish are in hot pursuit for the PA linebacker

Although Notre Dame football already has one linebacker commit in its 2025 class, Ko’o Kia, they are looking to add at least one more and maybe two.

One of those targets is Pennsylvania’s [autotag]Anthony Sacca[/autotag], who released his top five school on Thursday afternoon with the Irish making the cut. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 225-pounder also had Alabama, Duke, Wisconsin and Ohio State on his final list.

It’s a bit interesting that the 247Sports Composite Rankings No. 21 linebacker and 173rd overall player nationally did not have home state power Penn State in his final group. I guess the Nittany Lions loss is one of the five schools gain with Sacca.

Penn State not in top 5 for Penn State legacy and four-star in-state LB

Penn State missed out on the top school cut for four-star LB legacy recruiting target.

Penn State has already attacked the linebacker position in the Class of 2025, but James Franklin and his staff may be wondering what went wrong in the pursuit of one more of the top linebackers in Pennsylvania, and one who has a strong Penn State connection.

[autotag]Anthony Sacca[/autotag], the son of former Penn State quarterback [autotag]Tony Sacca[/autotag], announced his top five schools still under consideration in his recruiting process on Thursday. Not included in the latest top schools cut was Penn State, although some recruiting insiders had a sense that was to be expected. The schools that are in the running at this point are Alabama, Duke, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wisconsin,

Sacca is a four-star linebacker from Philadelphia, where he plays football for St. Joseph’s Prep. 247Sports ranks Sacca as the no. 6 player overall in Pennsylvania, and the composite ranking boosts him up to no. 4 in the state. Obviously, that would have made him an easy target for Penn State in the Class of 2025. Penn State was among the first offers to Sacca back in December 2021. Sacca also visited Penn State’s campus on multiple occasions since receiving his offer, including a recent January 2024 visit for a junior day event.

Within days of his most recent visit to Penn State, however, offers from both Alabama and Duke came through to Sacca, and he attended a junior day event at Alabama just last week.

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has likely been part of the recruiting process on Penn State’s end, so it makes sense Duke would be coming in relatively late to the game. Diaz swiping Sacca would be a huge recruiting win as he takes over the Blue Devils in Durham. But losing Sacca to another big Ten school like Ohio State or Wisconsin would sting just a little bit more than Alabama, Duke, or Notre Dame.

Penn State has added a pair of linebacker commitments over the past week with the additions of Alex Tatsch and Dayshaun Burnett (both in-state recruiting targets). Penn State has also added a commitment from one of the top players in New Jersey, DJ McClary, who is also a four-star recruit.

Ohio State football in top five for 2025 four-star linebacker

The Buckeyes are squarely in the mix for one of the nations top 2025 linebackers

Ohio State football is once again looking toward St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a top prospect.

If you didn’t know, that was the high school [autotag]Marvin Harrison Jr.[/autotag] prepped at and there is always good talent in the program. It is also the former high school of Kyle McCord. One of those prospects is linebacker, [autotag]Anthony Sacca[/autotag], who named his top five Thursday that includes Ohio State along with Alabama, Duke, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 225-pound linebacker is one of the best players in the nation, as the 247Sports Composite Rankings have Sacca as the No. 21 prospect at his position and the 173rd overall player in the country.

The Buckeyes have eight total commits in the 2025 class at the moment, one of them also being a linebacker in Eli Lee. Sacca would make a big time pair with the current commit, so making his top five is a step in the right direction with his recruitment.

Badgers in top five programs for four-star linebacker

Badgers in top five programs for four-star linebacker

The Badgers were included in the top five programs of Anthony Sacca, a four-star class of 2025 linebacker from Philadelphia on Thursday. Sacca is a junior at St. Joseph’s Prep and he still has one more season of high school football before he’d make the leap to the collegiate level.

Sacca has narrowed down his top five potential destinations to Alabama, Duke, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Badgers have had success with St. Joseph’s in the past year, securing the commitment of three-star class of 2024 cornerback Omillio Agard.

Sacca likely won’t make a decision on what school he’ll be attending, but it’s notable nonetheless that he’s considering Wisconsin amongst his final options.

Linebacker from class of 2025 gets offer from Wisconsin

Anthony Sacca, a class of 2025 four-star linebacker from Philadelphia received an offer to play football for the Badgers on Friday.

Anthony Sacca, a four-star linebacker from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania received an offer from the Badgers on Friday. The 6-foot-4, 220 pound athlete has experience playing safety as well and still has two more years to round into form with St. Joseph’s Prep School before making the leap to collegiate football.

To this point, Sacca has received 17 offers from Division 1 programs and both Penn State and Michigan are amongst the Big Ten teams with ties to the athlete. For Wisconsin, the sophomore is one of many players the team has offered for 2025, including four-star wide receiver Dorian Brew.

The Badgers’ head coach Luke Fickell has been aggressive in his approach to acquiring talent since joining the program in November and Sacca could be a piece for new defensive coordinator Mike Tressel in 2025.
