Army vs. Air Force odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Army Black Knights vs. Air Force Falcons odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Army Black Knights (4-3 Independent) and Air Force Falcons (6-2, 3-2 Mountain West) meet Saturday in a neutral-site battle at Choctaw Stadium (formerly known as Globe Life Park) in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET. Below, we look at the Army vs. Air Force odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The good news for the Black Knights is that they scored 56 points in their last game when they hosted Wake Forest Oct. 23. The bad news is that they lost as the Demon Deacons scored 70 points in a wild game at Michie Stadium in West Point. Looking to Saturday, Army has had two weeks to prepare for this neutral-site affair.

The Falcons also had two weeks off after suffering a 20-14 home loss against San Diego State Oct. 23 to snap a 4-0 SU/ATS run. The Under has hit in three in a row, and six of eight overall for the Falcons. They are aiming for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy after already securing a 23-3 win at Navy back on Sept. 11.

Army vs. Air Force odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 31, Army 23

Money line

AIR FORCE (-145) is a good play on the money line if you want to avoid the points and just pick a winner straight up. Air Force, already bowl eligible, had won four in a row before running into a buzzsaw from San Diego State. Look for the Falcons to bounce back, especially against an Army defense that was drummed by Wake Forest last time out.

Against the spread

AIR FORCE -2.5 (-117) is the play in this neutral-site affair. The Falcons have been steady on offense, going for 395.9 total yards per game, while registered 318.4 rushing yards per outing to rank No. 1 in the nation. That triple-option attack is difficult to stop. Occasionally, Air Force can pass it, going for 77.5 passing yards per contest to just keep opposing defenses on their toes.

Army was roughed up for 70 points against Wake Forest two weeks ago, and it allowed 180 yards on the ground. If it couldn’t stop the Deacs, Army will have a whale of a time trying to corral Air Force’s rushing attack.

Over/Under

OVER 37.5 (-110) is the slam-dunk play in this one. Again, Army was involved in a game with 126 total points last time out. Yes, both teams are rushing teams, so the clock will continue to run. But the thought process of the books seems flawed, and this should be an easy Over result. A significant bet is warranted.

San Diego State at Air Force odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s San Diego State Aztecs at Air Force Falcons odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 21 San Diego State Aztecs (6-0, 2-0 MWC) and Air Force Falcons (6-1, 3-1) meet for a Saturday 7 p.m. ET game at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Below, we look at the San Diego State vs. Air Force odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

San Diego State squeaked by San Jose State, 19-13 in overtime, last Saturday to remain unbeaten this fall. The Aztecs were outgained, 345 yards to 240, and for an undefeated team, SDSU has had its problems moving the chains all season. San Diego State heads into Saturday’s Mountain West crossover tilt ranked 103rd in total offense (348.5 yards per game).

The Falcons have their offense cranked up of late and have won four consecutive games. The nation’s leading rushing attack (336.4 yards per game) has produced 4.9-or-more yards per attempt in five of seven games this season. Air Force has also benefited from a plus-7 in turnover margin.

  • Against the spread (ATS): San Diego State +2.5 (+105) | Air Force -2.5 (-130)

San Diego State at Air Force odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 24, San Diego State 20

Money line

San Diego State is out too far over its skis in holding foes to a 26.7% conversion rate on third downs. The Aztecs are up against a Falcons team that can stay on schedule and one that is 12-2 straight-up over its last 14 games at home.

TAKE AIR FORCE (-160).

Against the spread

This is a strength-on-strength, run-versus-run game. These teams both rank as top-25 in rushing offense and rushing defense. But Air Force has an edge with what they do at the line of scrimmage and that includes run-stuff avoidance.

Consider a Falcons (-2.5) play only at -120 or better. Otherwise, PASS — the money line play becomes worth it with a low total looming.

Over/Under

The Over is 6-2 in the last eight San Diego State-Air Force meetings in Fort Collins. And that’s the zag lean here, with both offenses perhaps having more finishing success and getting this total into the mid-40s.

BACK THE OVER 38.5 (-107).

Air Force at Navy odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Air Force at Navy odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Air Force Falcons (1-0) and Navy Midshipmen (0-1) tee it up Saturday as the race for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy get underway. The gridiron squads representing the Air Force and Naval Academies will tangle at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis; kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m ET. Below, we look at the Air Force vs. Navy odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

QB Haaziq Daniels ran for 3 touchdowns, as Air Force clocked a 35-14 victory over FCS foe Lafayette last week. The Falcons better than doubled up the Leopards 24-11 in first downs with a strong ground game leading the attack. The Falcons toted the ball 67 times for 370 yards (5.5 average). Daniels passed for 50 yards and ran for 72 in the season-opening triumph.

Navy was sunk 49-7 by Marshall last week. The Midshipmen were outgained by just 66 yards and had one more first down than the Herd. USNA earned a 34-25 comeback victory in its last home tilt against the Falcons in 2019. The Middies scored the go-ahead TD with 23 seconds remaining.

Air Force at Navy odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:50 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Air Force -250 (bet $250 to win $100) | Navy +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Air Force -5.5 (-112) | Navy +5.5 (-108)

Air Force at Navy odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 28, Navy 21

Money line

Don’t dismiss favorites in the -200 to -300 range out of hand. There are occasions where there is decent leverage in this neighborhood but this isn’t one of those times.

An Air Force play would be on the radar at a price better than -220. PASS ON THIS TAG.

Against the spread

The Falcons are 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Midshipmen.

The Air Force defense figures as a solid unit and Navy QB Tai Lavatai was hurt after being sacked five times last week. The Middies had trouble turning yards into points last week; they may find more points this week peg them as a touchdown or more down throughout this contest.

BACK AIR FORCE -5.5 (-112).

Stream college football games on ESPN+ by signing up here.

Over/Under

The Under has gone 7-2 in the last nine series meetings. Look for some push back in 2021.

Navy may be a few points undervalued after last week and Air Force showed some life in the back half of last year’s 3-3 campaign.

TAKE THE OVER 39.5 (-110).

Air Force: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Air Force 23, Army 13

Money line (ML)

Air Force has a strong defense and Army has not been playing all that well recently. Air Force has only allowed 7.8 points per game outside of their loss to Boise State.

Army sneaked by Navy with an ugly 15-0 win and was blown out by Tulane 38-12. They also squeaked past Georgia Southern 28-27. Air Force has been the better team in this series over the last decade. TAKE AIR FORCE (-145).

Against the spread (ATS)

Air Force is 3-2 ATS this season and 6-4 ATS against Army over the last decade. Army is 5-2 ATS at home this season, but are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games in this series. TAKE AIR FORCE -3 (-105).

Over/Under (O/U)

With both teams combining for more than 600 rushing yards per game, this game will be quick. The last six games between the two teams have gone Under and only two of the last 10 have gone Over. Air Force’s games have gone Over only once in five games and Army is 4-6 O/U. TAKE UNDER 37.5 POINTS (-120).

Air Force at Utah State odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Air Force Falcons at Utah State Aggies sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Air Force Falcons (2-2, 1-2 MWC) visit the Utah State Aggies (1-4, 1-4) Thursday for a 9:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we analyze the Air Force-Utah State college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Air Force at Utah State: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Air Force -500 (bet $500 to win $100) | Utah State +370 (bet $100 to win $370)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Air Force -11.5 (-110) | Utah State +11.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 51.5 (O: -106 | U: -115)

Air Force at Utah State: Three things to know

  1. Air Force has had three scheduled games disrupted due to COVID-19 and has played just once since Oct. 31. The Falcons were able to play New Mexico Nov. 20, and they blanked the Lobos by a 28-0 count to cover an 8-point spread as the Under (55) connected.
  2. Speaking of UNM, Utah State got off the schneid with a 41-27 victory over the Lobos in Logan Thanksgiving night, winning outright as a 6-point underdog. The Aggies entered that game with a total of 45 points scored in their first four games, going 0-4 straight up and ATS.
  3. Air Force is a dismal 5-11 ATS in its past 16 games against losing teams, and 0-8 ATS in its past eight on the road against teams with a losing home mark. The Falcons have covered in four of their past five games against USU, and the favorite is a perfect 4-0 ATS in the past four meetings.

Air Force at Utah State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Air Force 31, Utah State 16

Money line (ML)

Air Force (-500) is a little too expensive on the money line, as you cannot risk nearly four times your potential return on a road team. The Falcons should be able to get it done, but it’s also risky backing a triple-option team in the event they need to play from behind. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

AIR FORCE -11.5 (-110) is a good play in this one. Yes, Utah State +10.5 (-115) is coming off its best performance of the season, but they also played an awful New Mexico side which posted 27 points on them. Conversely, Air Force shut out the Lobos. The Aggies also rank 101st in the nation, allowing 202.8 rushing yards per game, and that’s a specialty for the Falcons. Air Force averages 336.5 rushing yards per contest, tops in the country.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 51.5 (-115) is the lean in this Mountain West battle. Utah State did score a season-high 41 points last week, but it averaged just 11.3 points per game over its first four, and the Aggies will likely be back to struggling against a strong defense. Air Force is allowing just 18.3 PPG, 106.8 rushing yards per game and 326.3 total yards per game, each top 18 or better in the country.

New Mexico at Air Force odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s New Mexico Lobos at Air Force Falcons sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The New Mexico Lobos (0-3, 0-3 Mountain West) and Air Force Falcons (1-2, 0-2) meet in Colorado Springs, Colo., for a 9:30 p.m. ET kickoff Friday. Below, we analyze the New Mexico-Air Force college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

New Mexico at Air Force: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 12:10 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: New Mexico +260 (bet $100 to win $260) | Air Force -334 (bet $334 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: New Mexico +9.5 (-110) | Air Force -9.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 55.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

New Mexico at Air Force: Three things to know

  1. The Lobos have lost each of their three outings, but two of the outings have been near-misses. They lost at Hawaii 39-33, covering a 14-point number on Nov. 7, and they fell 27-20 to Nevada at a neutral site in Las Vegas.
  2. New Mexico ranks third in the nation, allowing just 81.3 rushing yards per game, but that will be put to the test against an Air Force ground attack that ranks No. 1 in the country with 330.0 rushing YPG.
  3. UNM is 7-1 ATS in the past eight meetings in this series, and the Lobos are 4-1 ATS in the past five trips to the Springs. The Over is 4-1 in the past five meetings at Air Force, and a perfect 7-0 in the past seven battles in this series.

New Mexico at Air Force: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Air Force 31, New Mexico 20

Money line (ML)

Air Force (-334) will cost you more than three times your potential return, which is risky business betting on a team facing a fairly strong rush defense. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

AIR FORCE -9.5 (-110) is a strong play. New Mexico QB Tevaka Tuioti is a question mark for this one due to a concussion, and he is the straw that stirs the drink for the Lobos. They have played hard to the horn for the full 60 minutes, but they’re likely to be without Tuioti, and that’s no good for the Lobos.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 55.5 (-110) is the lean in this one, even if it goes against the series trends. The Over is 4-1 in the past five meeting in Colorado Springs, and has hit in seven straight in the series overall. But Air Force is a running team, and that means running the clock. The triple-option, combined with UNM likely missing its leader under center, equals an Under result.

The Air Force Falcons (1-2, 0-2 MWC) and Army Black Knights (6-1 Indep.) were scheduled to meet at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. for an 11:30 a.m. ET kickoff Saturday. The game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. A new date is yet to be announced.

The Black Knights are No. 22 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

  • Money line: Air Force +185 (bet $100 to win $185) | Army -228 (bet $228 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Air Force +5.5 (-110) | Army -5.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 40.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Air Force at Army: Three things to know

  1. The Falcons fly into West Point looking to claim the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which is awarded to each season’s winner of the games between Army, Navy and Air Force. The Falcons dropped Navy 40-7 on Oct. 3 in their first game to take a step closer, winning as 6.5-point underdogs.
  2. It’s a new season, but nothing has changed with the approach of Air Force or Army. They run the ball. A lot. Air Force is averaging 330.0 yards per game on the ground, second in the country, while ranking 22nd against the rush with 114.7 yards allowed. Army is third in the country with 307.7 rushing yards per game, and it is 16th against the run with 103.6 yards allowed.
  3. Air Force won last season’s battle, 17-13, winning outright as an underdog in Colorado Springs. The most recent meeting at Michie Stadium saw Army edge Air Force 17-14 Nov. 3, 2018. Air Force won at Army 31-12 Nov. 5, 2016. Six straight meetings have resulted in the Under, with the last Over coming Nov. 2, 2013.

Air Force at Army: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Army 24, Air Force 14

Money line (ML)

Army (-228) is on its home turf and looking for a seventh victory in eight games. It will face a stiff challenge from a team very similar team, but the Black Knights are just a little more talented.

Anything goes in a rivalry game, so AVOID, as risking more than two times your return is dangerous.

Against the spread (ATS)

ARMY (-5.5, -110) has been rolling right along, covering the spread in three of the past four, and five of seven overall this season. In its only loss, against a ranked Cincinnati team, the Knights gave the Bearcats fits in a 24-10 defeat. This is Army’s sixth game at home already this season, but this will be just the fourth FBS visitor to West Point. Army is 2-0 straight up and ATS in its two previous home games against FBS foes, outscoring those teams 79-7.

Over/Under (O/U)

Play the UNDER 40.5 (-110) very, very lightly. The total is low because both teams run the triple-option, so passing will be a rarity. The clock will continue to run. We’ve seen the Under hit in six straight meetings, and four in a row in West Point. A total in the 40’s is low for this day and age in college football, but both of these teams are throwbacks.
