Aggies in the NFL: Where to watch in Week 6 of the NFL Schedule

See where all your favorite Aggies are playing during the sixth Sunday and Monday of the 2023 NFL regular season.

Week 6 of the 2023 NFL Season started off in semi-boring fashion, as the now Taylor Swift conquered Kansas City Chiefs looked distracted in their Thursday night home matchup, hosting the lowly Denver Broncos.

While star quarterback Patrick Mahomes still managed to throw for 306 yards and one touchdown, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker stole the show, hitting four field goals, including an impressive 60-yarder. The rumored roster fire sale for the Broncos looks more imminent by the day, as the once-elite quarterback Russell Wilson managed just 95 yards through the air and two interceptions.

Yes, Taylor Swift’s relationship with star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce once again took over the actual football game, which, in this case, was actually more entertaining than the game itself. Go figure.

As we do every week during the regular season, plenty of Aggies are well-represented within the NFL, including some of the best players on both sides of the ball. Here are the matchups, game times, and broadcasting information for several Aggies playing in the NFL this Sunday and Monday.

On the other side, Commander QB Sam Howell is as tough as they come, throwing for 388 yards and two touchdowns, but after trailing 27-3 at the half, enduring five sacks in the process.

A trio of former Texas A&M wide receivers had a field day in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season

Former Texas A&M WRs Mike Evans, Josh Reynolds, and Christian Kirk all had incredibly productive outings in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL slate.

It’s always fun to kick back on NFL Sunday (and Monday), knowing that several former Texas A&M football players will create multiple highlight reels on offense and defense.

During Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season, three former Aggie wide receivers dominated the stat line, further cementing Texas A&M in the conversation for being “Wide receiver U.”

On Sunday, future Hall of Famer and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans led the way with six receptions for 171 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs’ win against the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville WR Christian Kirk (11 receptions, 110 yards) and Detroit Lions WR Josh Reynolds (5 receptions 66 yards, two touchdowns) both performed well in losing efforts.

While offense under Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher hasn’t been the calling card until recently, all three former Aggies are three of the best athletes to ever come through the program under former head coach Kevin Sumlin, each holding several records that may, or may not be broken in the future.

  • Christian Kirk (2015-2017): second in career receptions (234), third in career receiving yards (2,856 yards), and third in career receiving touchdowns (26).
  • Mike Evans (2012-2013): seventh in career receptions (151), sixth in career receiving yards (2,499 yards), and seventh in career receiving touchdowns (17).
  • Josh Reynolds (2014-2016): fifth in career receptions (164), fourth in career receiving yards (2,788), and second in career receiving touchdowns (30).

It’s no surprise that all three have not only made their mark at Texas A&M but have already created a lasting legacy in the NFL, whether it’s Evans’ production, Kirk’s speed and versatility, or Reynolds’ length and quarterback-friendly reliability, every Aggie fan of what all three have accomplished thus far.

Week 2 of the 2023 NFL regular season started in the city of brotherly love as the Philadelphia Eagles opened their home slate vs. the visiting Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia native D’Andre Swift led the game win rushing with 175 yards and a touchdown on the ground, leading the Eagles to an underwhelming 34-28 win as their schedule only gets tougher down the stretch.

On the other side, the not-so-lucky Vikings did have an impressive day through the air, as quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns, and All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson made several highlight-worthy catches, totaling 11 receptions and a game-high 159 yards receiving in a losing effort.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodger’s season-ending ankle injury was a huge blow to a team clearly on the rise with Super Bowl dreams; their last-second win after a rousing punt return touchdown from rookie WR Xavier Gibson instilled some hope that backup quarterback Zach Wilson can get the job done behind one of the best defenses the league has to offer.

As we do every week during the regular season, plenty of Aggies are well-represented within the NFL, including some of the best players on both sides of the ball. Here are the matchups, game times, and broadcasting information for several Aggies playing in the NFL this Sunday and Monday.

Former Texas A&M OT Cedric Ogbuehi has signed with the Miami Dolphins

Former Texas A&M standout offensive tackle and first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft has reportedly signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Recent reports indicate that Cedric Ogbuehi, a former outstanding offensive tackle for Texas A&M between 2010 and 2014, has officially signed with the Miami Dolphins as of Monday afternoon. In the 2015 NFL Draft, Ogbuehi was chosen as the 21st overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. His exceptional performance as an offensive tackle during his senior season in 2014, and his versatility, made him a valuable selection for the Bengals.

After three up-and-down seasons in Cincinnati playing both right and left tackle while appearing in just 25 games, Ogbuehi has made his way around the league the last four years, starting in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, 2020 with the Seattle Seahawks, 2021 with the Baltimore Ravens and the 2022 season with the New York Jets, where he started four games at right tackle.

Head coach Mike McDaniel’s offensive line for Miami is all but set. However, uncertainty at the starting right tackle spot is still in question, hence signing another experienced veteran joining recent OT free agent signing, Isaiah Wynn, with versatility at the tackle spot. Now for the fantastic Texas A&M connection; Ogbuehi will be joining former standout Aggies running back De’Von Achane, who the Dolphins recently drafted in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft if he can make the team. Good luck, Cedric! Gig ‘Em!
