Aggies in the NFL: Where to watch in Week 1 of the NFL Schedule

See where all your favorite Aggies are playing during the first Sunday, and Monday of the 2023 regular season.

Texas A&M was well represented on Thursday night, as the 2022 Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Cheifs hosted the surging Detroit Lions, looked looked to play spoiler to open the 2023 NFL season in exciting fashion. In a hard-fought battle, the Travis Kelce-less Chiefs still had the best player in the league has to offer in quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but Lion’s signal-caller Jared Goff completed several tough throws under pressure possession after possession.

After trailing 14-7 at the half, rookie defensive back Brian Branch provided Detroit a much-needed adrenaline shot after intercepting a tipped Mahomes pass 50 yards to the house, tying things up at 14 all. After two Kansas City field goals to end the third and open the fourth quarter, the Lions, behind Goff’s arm and clutch receptions from wide receiver Josh Reynolds (4 rec. 80 yards) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (6 rec, 71 yards, 1 TD), running back David Montogomery burst his way into the endzone to make is 21-20 with 7:06 remaining.

Even though Mahomes had plenty of time to work his usual magic, Detroit’s defense took full advantage of future Hall Of Fame tight end Travis Kelce’s absence, escaping with an impressive 1-0 start in 2023.

As you all know, the Lions are led by former Aggie tight end Dan Campbell (1995-1998) in his third season as the Head Coach, while his defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn still holds several records during his time as a shutdown cornerback for the Aggies (1990-1994) and later, the New York Jets.

As we enter the first weekend of the regular season, here are the matchups, game times, and broadcasting information for several Aggies playing in the NFL this Sunday.

A closer look at the Seahawks 2023 regular-season schedule

The Seattle Seahawks will play three prime-time games during the 2023 NFL regular season, including Thanksgiving Day against the 49ers.

The Seattle Seahawks’ 2023 NFL regular-season schedule was released Thursday night, with the team slated to open the year at home against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Seattle will play three prime-time games, two on Thursday nights and one Monday-night matchup. The first comes in Week 4 against the Giants on Monday, Oct. 2. Next up is the Thanksgiving Day contest at Lumen Field, when the Seahawks host the division-rival 49ers. Exactly a week later, Seattle travels to Dallas for their third and final primetime game, Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Cowboys.

The Seahawks will play a total of nine road games this season with four 10:00 am PT starts. Seattle was also dealt its earliest bye week – Week 5 – since 2016.

Only the date and time of one game remains to be determined, the Week 18 matchup against the Cardinals in Arizona. The NFL will release the details of that contest following the Week 17 lineup.
