Announcers revealed for Notre Dame-Georgia Tech game on ESPN

Do you like this crew?

Until now, it was unclear whether ESPN or ABC would broadcast Notre Dame’s contest against Georgia Tech. It’s annoying how ESPN often waits until this soon before games it has broadcast rights to to announce where a game specifically will be broadcast, but it’s the reality for many college football fans.

We now know that Irish and Yellow Jackets will face each other on ESPN. The game between Alabama and Tennessee has drawn ABC during the same time slot. It makes sense that the contest with the two ranked teams would be on the network with the bigger reach.

On the call for the Irish’s visit to Atlanta will be Bob Wischusen and Louis Riddick, while Kris Budden works the sidelines. It’s been a while since Riddick has announced an Irish game, but he is one of the most respected analysts in college football.

Irish fans who don’t care for Jason Garrett being retained for the NBC coverage this season surely will enjoy this break:

Best of luck to the entire broadcast crew in covering the game.

Broadcast network annouced for Texas A&M vs. Missouri

Texas A&M will host Missouri at 11:00 a.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 5

Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0 SEC) is preparing to face the Arkansas Razorbacks (3-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon. Both teams will face off inside AT&T Stadium for the final time in the series, and the Aggies have won 11 out of the last 12 meetings.

If Texas A&M can get past the Razorbacks, the undefeated Missouri Tigers, who are currently on a bye week, will face off in a critical matchup with potential postseason implications. Returning to the 2021 season was the last time both teams met on the field, as the Aggies defeated the Tigers on the road 35-14.

However, Missouri’s recent success under head coach Eliah Drinkwitz, both on and off the field, has been much more impressive than Texas A&M’s final two seasons under Jimbo Fisher. Under new head coach Mike Elko, getting back to basics while knowing that the 2024 roster is talented enough to compete as soon as this season.

On Monday, it was announced that Texas A&M vs. Missouri, set for Saturday, October 5, at 11:00 a.m., will officially air on ABC.

Weather delays SEC opener at Florida while Reed starts as Texas A&M QB instead of Weigman

The highly anticipated SEC opener between Texas A&M and Florida got off to an exciting start before Mother Nature brought it to a halt.

The highly anticipated SEC opener between the Texas A&M football team at Florida on national television got off to an exciting start before Mother Nature brought it to an anticlimactic halt.

The conference clash between the Aggies (1-1) and Gators (1-1) on ABC is in a weather delay due to lightning, as it has been since approximately 3:30 p.m. CT. According to ESPN studio host Kevin Negandhi, the game is scheduled to resume at 4:17 p.m. CT.

Texas A&M leads 10-0 after one quarter of play. The major storyline of the matchup thus far is the play of redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed, who started for Conner Weigman due to a shoulder injury.

The junior QB came into Saturday’s contest as a game-time decision and, despite suiting up, Weigman was held out due to precautionary reasons. According to ESPN sideline reporter Katie George, Weigman suffered an AC joint injury in his throwing shoulder during the season-opening loss versus Notre Dame.

Reed is currently 8-of-10 for 94 yards and 1 touchdown.

‘College GameDay’ for Notre Dame-Texas A&M draws big ratings for ESPN

The Irish just attract people.

Notre Dame is a ratings magnet for any network, and such has been proven time and again. ABC saw near-record ratings for the Irish’s season-opening win against Texas A&M. Now, we have a finally for the ratings of ESPN’s “College GameDay”, which broadcast from College Station in anticipation of the game.

The high ratings for the program likely contributed to a combination of factors. While the Irish being featured certainly was one, the fact that it was during the first official week of the college football season had to be another.

Whatever the reason for the high ratings though, the numbers don’t lie:

It’s beyond crazy that it took almost eight years for “College GameDay” to achieve these ratings, but it’s easy to see when you talk about the aforementioned factors. It’s hard to tell if the Irish will be featured again, so hopefully, ESPN appreciated the draw the Irish provided.

All eyes were on the Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame game, leading to record views

Fans were itching for college football Saturday leading to Texas A&M vs Norte Dame setting a ABC streaming record

Over the weekend, college football had a ton of storylines to follow, which caused millions of viewers to tune in to see how the games would shake out. One of the most viewed was the top-25 battle between No. 20 Texas A&M and No. 7 Notre Dame.

The game lived up to its billing as a tough back-and-forth defensive matchup. It was a true toss-up most of the game, while Notre Dame’s big plays to pull ahead and emerge were just enough to emerge as the 23-13 winner in a hostile environment.

Several questions were answered in front of over 100,000 fans and 8.2 million viewers. In ABC’s Most-Streamed regular-season college football game ever, the Notre Dame offensive line held up, not allowing a single sack. On the flip side, they saw a Texas A&M offense that never really got anything going.

It was a great day of football, and the viewers were excited that their favorite teams were back on the field duking it out for bragging rights, as proven by the numbers below.

Notre Dame’s season-opening win vs. Texas A&M is ratings smash for ABC

Lots of people watched this game.

A common refrain for Notre Dame football haters is that nobody actually cares about the program. As far as they’re concerned, the Irish are overrated, overloved and undeserving of anything as long as they don’t join a conference.

The reality though is the Irish attract a large number of viewers every week, especially if they’re on in prime time. ESPN recognized this and wisely placed the Irish’s season opener at Texas A&M in the prime-time slot on ABC.

The viewers watched the Irish win, and ESPN and ABC saw the ratings go through the roof as the decision to place the game where they did paid off:

What’s more, the only recent game that could even approach ABC’s Saturday night game as far as ratings was when the Irish faced Ohio State in 2022. So the next time you hear someone say no one really cares about the Irish, just show them these ratings.
