Wisconsin makes the top 12 for 2022’s No. 2-ranked safety

The Wisconsin Badger football program continued to receive good recruiting news today as Xavier Nwankpa included them in his top 12

The Wisconsin football program made a statement during the 2021 recruiting cycle, landing a class that finished No. 16 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big Ten.

The program now turns to the class of 2022 as it looks to continue to elevate the program into the class of the nation’s best.

Well, good class of 2022 recruiting news came today when four-star safety Xavier Nwankpa included Wisconsin in his top 12 schools.

Nwankpa is currently ranked as the No. 37 player in the class of 2022, the No. 2 safety and the No. 1 recruit from his home state of Iowa.

A 247Sports crystal ball projection has Nwankpa choosing to play for Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Wisconsin is currently without a player in their class of 2022 after four-star safety/linebacker Braelon Allen reclassified and joined the 2021 group.

4-star OL Dietrick Pennington includes Georgia football in top 5

Saturday, 2021 4-star offensive lineman Dietrick Pennington announced his top-5 schools on Twitter. The list includes Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and LSU.

Pennington (6-foot-5, 326 pounds) plays football for Evangelical Christian School in Cordova, Tennessee, where he sees playing time at both guard and defensive tackle.

247Sports has Pennington rated as the No. 12 guard, the No. 4 prospect in Tennessee and the No. 212 prospect overall in the 2021 recruiting class.

Three-star safety Gabe Nealy de-commits from Michigan State

Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class now sits at 11 players.

It’s going to be a really weird recruiting year, so strap in.

After a blazing month of April on the recruiting trail, Michigan State and Mel Tucker have their first setback with three-star defensive back Gabe Nealy rescinding his commitment to the Spartans.

Speculation had been abound in the last week regarding the Miami product, who was one of the more outspoken and excited member’s of MSU’s 2021 recruiting class. Nealy–as prospects sometimes do–changed his social media pictures away from him in Michigan State gear and started tweeting social media graphics from other schools.

Michigan State’s class is now down to 11 players. Three of those 11 still defensive backs. Prior to Nealy’s removal the class was ranked 31st in the country.

Georgia football offers No. 2 OT in 2022 class

Saturday, 4-star OT Earnest Greene took to Twitter to announce a scholarship offer from Georgia football in the 2022 recruiting class.

After having three offensive lineman taken in the NFL Draft, including two in the first round, Georgia is making its case for ‘O-Line U.

Kirby Smart and staff kept busy during draft weekend as they offered a 2022 scholarship to 4-star OT Earnest Greene out of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Cal.

247Sports has Greene (6-4, 301) ranked as the No. 2 OT and No. 19 recruit overall for the 2022 recruiting class.

Greene holds offers from LSU, Florida State and Ohio State among 15 others.
