2025 running back Michael Turner Jr has been picking up steam with his recruitment. Oklahoma and DeMarco Murray recently offered him a scholarship to play running back for them in the 2025 recruiting class.

Turner is a 6-foot running back that weighs 190 pounds. He’s from North Richland Hills, Texas and attends Richland High School.

He currently has nine scholarship offers, with seven coming from Power Five schools. Early in the cycle, expect that number to grow.

Sooners make top 12 for elite 2025 safety

Oklahoma Sooners make the top 12 for 2025 top 100 prospect Jonah Williams.

We aren’t even close to being done with the 2024 recruiting cycle, but it’s never too early to talk about 2025. Especially, when the Sooners are in the running for a potential five-star safety.

Jonah Williams from Galveston, Texas, is a big safety at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. He’s ranked in the top 90 for every major outlet with two having him in the top 40.

Right now, On3 Sports has Texas with a slight lead, followed by Texas A&M and then Oklahoma. So it will not be an easy hill to climb for Brent Venables and Co.

It’s unclear what the plan would be for him, but with his size, he seems like he would be a prototypical cheetah for the Sooners. Some sights even list him as a linebacker, whereas others see him as a safety.

Last season he was the Texas District 9-5A-I overall MVP as just a sophomore and helped his school go undefeated in the regular season, allowing 31 total points in 11 games, per 247Sports.

Earlier this week, he released his top 12, which consisted of the Sooners, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Arizona State, LSU and USC.

Oklahoma 2025 QB commit [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] is already working to help land Williams’ commitment, tweeting at the recruit.

We’ve talked about it a bunch, but these are the type of players Oklahoma needs as it heads into the SEC in 2024. It’s a big reason the 2023 season is so critical for the Sooners’ efforts to help lure these top recruits to Norman.

The recruits will meet with current players and are able to particpate in camps. Altogether, the summer is essential in virtually all recruitments as it is used for building relationships or growing a prior connection with the coaching staff.

2025 5-Star TE Davon Mitchell sets commitment date

One of the top players in the 2025 class, Davon Mitchell, sets commitment date.

The Oklahoma Sooners are just over a month away from finding out about one of their top targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Five-star tight end Davon Mitchell announced via Twitter that he’ll be committing on July 8.

Mitchell is currently ranked as a top 50 player across the board, and 247Sports sees him as a top 20 player in the 2025 class. He’s the No. 1 tight end in the cycle and ranks as the No. 2 player in the state of California.

Davon Mitchell transferred to Los Alamitos High School after starting his high school career at Allen High School, the same place Michael Hawkins first started on varsity.

In addition to the Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama, Miami, Texas A&M, and Texas are in the running for the elite tight-end prospect.

The Sooners are already off to a strong start in the 2025 recruiting class with commitments from four-star quarterback [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] and four-star wide receiver [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag]. They’re also making positive headway in their recruitment of four-star wide receiver [autotag]Adrian Wilson[/autotag].

Mitchell is an athletic tight end that can make plays in the passing game and move the needle as a run blocker as well. His athleticism really shows up in the red zone, where he can get above the rim and high point the football and also has the size to box out defenders as well.

A commitment from Mitchell would give the Sooners their highest-rated tight end prospect in the 247Sports database. All eyes will be tuned in on July 8 to see which team Mitchell pledges to play for.

2025 Texas prospect Dilan Battle receives offer from Oklahoma

Oklahoma offered 2025 DL Dilan Battle out of Texas. Battle is a tough run-stopping interior defensive lineman.

The 2024 class, particularly the defensive linemen, is all the rage when discussing recruiting for the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma is knee-deep in heavyweight battles for multiple five and four-star defensive linemen.

[autotag]Williams Nwaneri[/autotag], [autotag]David Stone[/autotag], [autotag]Joseph Jonah-Ajonye[/autotag], [autotag]Nigel Smith[/autotag], [autotag]Danny Okoye[/autotag], and [autotag]Jayden Jackson[/autotag] all come to mind when discussing prospects Oklahoma is fighting for in meaningful capacities. Oklahoma could take up to five or six defensive linemen in their class, so the net is wide.

For the 2025 class, the defensive line will likely not be nearly as big of a focus if Oklahoma does load up in the 2024 class. But they need to attack the defensive trenches with the same fervor. The 2025 class will be their first signing class after spending a season in the SEC. The Sooners will know the types of athletes and players they’ll need to compete.

Guys like 2025 defensive line prospect Dilan Battle fit the mold along the defensive interior. Battle is a 6-foot-2, 315-pound interior disruptor for his Mansfield Timberview team. He sheds blockers with the best of them, and it remains his biggest asset as a player right now.

Much of the concern about Oklahoma’s defensive line centers around the lack of size in the middle left over from the Alex Grinch days. Battle is a ready-made nose tackle that could step in and line up over the center from day one.

While 247Sports doesn’t have him ranked, Battle’s offer sheet includes some heavy hitters indicating that it’s only a matter of time before recruiting services are forced to re-evaluate and rank him accordingly.

Alabama offers 2025 5-Star OT Solomon Thomas

2025 offensive tackle Solomon Thomas recently added an offer from the Alabama coaching staff. Thomas is a native of Jacksonville, Florida.

The Alabama coaching staff recently extended an offer to 2025 offensive tackle Solomon Thomas.

Thomas plays for Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He also competes on the school’s track and field team as a discus thrower.

At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, Thomas will be a top target for numerous power-five programs. Up to this point, he has taken unofficial visits to Florida, Florida State, and Georgia.

Alabama has made it a priority to recruit offensive linemen from the Sunshine state in years past. Several players like JC Latham, Evan Neal, and Tyler Booker each played high school ball in Florida.

With Thomas having two years of high school remaining, he will have plenty of time to take visits and evaluate his options. Alabama will look to be a contender in Thomas’ recruitment.
