Four-Star defensive end Zac Swanson verbally commits to Texas.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has kept his west coach pipeline alive from his previous coaching gigs at Washington and USC. It also helps that defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski has ties to the west from his time at Boise State and Washington as well.
On Monday, Texas continued to land elite talent from out of state.
Four-star defensive end Zac Swanson announced his commitment to Texas. In early March, Swanson announced that the final four programs left in his recruitment were USC, Oregon, Texas and Kentucky. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound playmaker was also targeted by well-respected programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan State, UCLA and Iowa State.
Swanson is listed as the No. 4 overall player in Arizona and a top-20 defensive end from the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports.
Swanson is the second defensive lineman to commit to the Longhorns in the 2022 cycle. He joins safety Bryan Allen Jr., cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau and defensive tackle Kristopher Ross on the defensive side of the ball.
