Studs
Brennan Eagles, WR
This was Brennan Eagles best game as a Longhorn. He hauled in five crucial catches for 142 yards and averaged 28.4 yards per reception. On Texas’ first drive of the game, quarterback Sam Ehlinger found Eagles for a 59-yard reception to put the Longhorns on Iowa State’s 4-yard line and set up their first touchdown of the game.
DeMarvion Overshown, LB
It felt like linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was all over the field on Friday. He’s certainly developing into an NFL-caliber player at the position thanks to defensive coordinator Chris Ash moving him from safety to linebacker this offseason. Overshown finished the game with 8 total tackles (5 solo), one tackle for loss, one pass defended and one quarterback hurry.
Keondre Coburn, DL
In order for Texas to have a chance to win this game, they needed their interior defensive line to be disruptive. Coburn was the only defensive lineman that was able to get to Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy, he finished the game with one sack and one tackle for loss.
