Schools from the Pac 12 that the Big 12 should consider for expansion

With speculation about the Pac 12 possibly disbanding, members could be needing a new home. Here are four schools the Big 12 should look at.

Arizona State Sun Devils

Current head coach: Herm Edwards

All-time record: 576-356-18

Major achievements: 7x Border Conference Champion, 7x Western Athletic Conference Champion, 3x Pac 10 Champion

All-time record vs Texas: 0-1

Outlook

If Arizona is gonna be joining the conference, so is their in-state rival Arizona State. Currently with one of the brightest futures in college football, former NFL head coach Herm Edwards has turned around the Sun Devils program.

Ranking in the top five in the Pac 12 in the past two recruiting classes, Arizona State had a better 2020 class than every Big 12 school not named Texas or Oklahoma. Once they have the ability to tap into the state of Texas to sign players, their talent will only get better.

If they were to join, Arizona State’s campus would be the furthest west in the Big 12. However, having other schools from the Pac 12 join would reduce travel and only make it an issue when a school like West Virginia has to travel that far west.
