Schools from the Pac 12 that the Big 12 should consider for expansion

With speculation about the Pac 12 possibly disbanding, members could be needing a new home. Here are four schools the Big 12 should look at.

Arizona Wildcats

All-time record: 490-430-23

Major achievements: 3x Border Conference Champion, 2x Western Athletic Conference Champion, 1x Pac 10 Champion

All-time record vs Texas: 0-1

Outlook

Former Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin took over the Wildcat program in 2018 and has had losing seasons in both 2018 and 2019. A consistent bowl team under Rich Rodriguez, Arizona has taken a dip in recent years.

While football would be the main reason for expansion and where the money would be made, Arizona would be a great addition for basketball reasons. From 1984-2009, the Wildcats made the NCAA Tournament, including five Final Fours and one national championship.

The football tradition may not be there, but the Wildcats would still be a solid addition to the conference. If nothing else, the culture of the Big 12 fits more with Arizona than the Pac 12.
