After initially being listed as questionable to play, Heat rookie Tyler Herro will not play on Tuesday night.
The Miami Heat will be without rookie Tyler Herro on Tuesday night at home against the Detroit Pistons due to a sprained left ankle, the team announced prior to the game.
The details of the injury are not yet known and it is unclear when Herro initially suffered the sprained ankle. The Heat last played Friday night on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers as Herro recorded seven points in the loss.
Herro has appeared in each of the Heat’s nine games to this point and is averaging 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He ranks seventh among all first-year players in scoring and ninth in 3-point percentage among rookies logging at least 10 minutes per game.
UPDATE: Kelly Olynyk (knee) will play tonight vs the Pistons.
Tyler Herro (ankle) and James Johnson (illness) will not play.
Herro was going to warm up prior to the game with the intention to play but either he or the team did not feel comfortable with him suiting up against the Pistons.
The Heat returned home on Tuesday after finishing 1-2 on a recent West Coast road trip.
Eagles Week 12 matchup with Seahawks flexed off of Sunday Night
There was some discussion of it a few weeks ago, but now it’s official. The NFL announced the Eagles vs. Seahawks Week 12 matchup has been moved from Sunday Night Football and will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.

The NFL set up its schedules with the flexibility to move certain late-season games around, thus avoiding low ratings when two poorly performing teams match up.
The league bases the decision off of the possibility that two hotter teams could possibly take that spot on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
The NFL has deemed the Packers vs. 49ers matchup as the bigger game. For the Eagles, the flex isn’t necessarily that bad, and with the Seahawks traveling east, the early start could play in the Birds favor.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a workout for former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be held on Saturday in Atlanta.
NFL clubs were informed today that a private workout will be held for Colin Kaepernick on Saturday in Atlanta. Session will include on-field work and an interview. All clubs are invited to attend, and video of both the workout and interview will be made available to clubs.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a workout for former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be held on Saturday in Atlanta.
All 32 NFL teams are invited to attend and will get the chance to interview Kaepernick, Schefter said. The league will also make a video of the workout and interview available to each team.
Kaepernick, who last played in 2016, has thrown for 12,271 yards, 72 touchdowns and 30 interceptions for a passer rating of 88.9. He’s rushed for an additional 2,300 yards and 13 touchdowns over his 69 career games.

Raiders mid-season awards: Best rookies through Week 10
Technically last week was the actual midseason mark for the Raiders, but it was a short week, so there just wasn’t time to put together any awards, so we’re doing it after nine games instead. Starting with the rookies of the midseason.
Offensive Rookie of the Midseason: RB Josh Jacobs
This one was a no-brainer. He is not just the best rookie on the Raiders, but the best in the NFL. He is currently fifth in the NFL, averaging 90.1 yards per game for a total of 811 yards rushing. He is also sixth in the league with 7 rushing touchdowns. Those are rankings among all running backs, not just rookies.
Jacobs consistently gets something out of nothing, rarely getting stopped for no gain or a loss. He is a patient runner who shows excellent burst through the hole, and strength at the point of attack to drive through defenders. He’s rushed for over 120 yards in three of his last five games.
Defensive Rookie of the Midseason: DE Maxx Crosby
‘Mad’ Maxx has been a terror off the edge for the Raiders. He is currently tied with Benson Mayowa for the team lead with 7 QB hits. He has 2.5 sacks along with 5 tackles for loss, 3 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.
Last week against the Chargers, he had just a half-sack but made Philip Rivers’s life miserable all game long. Crosby was showing his hair-on-fire play from the jump but only seems to be getting better. Quite the get in the fourth round.
2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns
After two long weeks of losing commits and being demoted in the rankings, it seemed like Texas was back on track after upsetting 16th-ranked Kansas State.
But the bad news continues to pile on.
Over the past few weeks, the Longhorns have lost multiple 2020 football recruits as they decommitted from the program. Now, they will lose another prospect, this time from the 2021 class.
On Monday, 2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis announced his decision to decommit from Texas. Davis was the first commitment for Texas’ 2021 class.
With the loss of Davis, Texas now has seven commitments for 2021, five of which are 4-stars and two of which are 3-stars. The bad news for the Longhorns has to end sometime, right?
Packers WR Davante Adams understands the golden opportunity ahead of his team coming out of the bye.
Davante Adams is fully aware of the golden opportunity in front of the Green Bay Packers.
Not only are the Packers 8-2 and in first place in the NFC North entering the bye week, but the team is healthy on both sides of the ball – setting up a chance for the Packers to make a legitimate run at a first-round postseason bye over the final six weeks of the season.
“We are in a blessed position with our record and with our health right now. We have to make sure we don’t take that for granted and take care of business,” Adams said Monday.
The Packers have an NFL-high five wins over teams with a winning record, including Sunday’s victory over the Carolina Panthers. They’ll face another coming out of the bye when they travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers, who are currently in possession of the top seed in the NFC.
An 8-2 start, created by a 5-1 mark at home and important road wins in Chicago, Dallas and Kansas City, has put the Packers in a favorable spot, especially considering four of the team’s last six games are against teams currently possessing a losing record.
Now, the Packers have to take advantage of the opportunity ahead. The week off could provide a chance to rest up and get healthy, even if there isn’t a major injury on the roster currently.
Adams said he’ll be staying in Green Bay during the bye, both to workout at the facility and continue rehabbing his still-healing toe back to full health.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers took an opportunity after Sunday night’s win to lay out expectations for players during the bye week.
“I hope guys realize how important this week is to get mentally balanced and then to come back and get ready for a tough road trip,” Rodgers said. “Hopefully those guys understand how important the opportunity is and not doing anything stupid that’s going to jeopardize their role in that opportunity.”
Adams said Rodgers talked with the entire team on Monday.
“Just a friendly reminder just to conduct yourself in the right way during the break,” Adams said.
Older players on the roster, including Rodgers and Adams, understand the process and how rare these kinds of opportunities are.
“We’re asking for guys to do their part. And buy into something. This is optional accountability. You have the option to buy into what we’re doing, or not. It doesn’t stop when you leave the building. You carry that ‘G’ where ever you go,” Rodgers said.

We’re headed to Week 12 of the college football season! Last week, LSU beat Alabama on the road, Minnesota stayed unbeaten with a win over Penn State at home and Baylor needed three overtimes to beat TCU. This week, No. 9 Oklahoma travels to No. 12 Baylor, No. 24 Navy is at No. 15 Notre Dame and No.6 Georgia is headed to No. 11 Auburn.

*Oklahoma has now allowed 89 points in their last two games. That’s not a good sign, after edging Iowa State last week. But for some reason, they are a double-digit favorite against a Baylor squad, coming off a triple-overtime win over TCU last week. Baylor is not dominating teams at home, but they are finding ways to win. Unlike Oklahoma, they took apart Kansas State on the road. Take the Bears at home to cover.
*How good is Navy? They’ve won five straight before their bye last week and their only close game came against Tulane in three-point win. This game is all about stopping the run so Indiana, we have a problem. Notre Dame is allowing 157.3 yards per game on the ground and the Mids are leading the nation with 358.3 yards per contest. Malcolm Perry will be a handful and he’s throwing the ball occasionally. Notre Dame is trying to go to a New Year’s Day bowl and they could win, but they won’t cover the 9.5. Take the points and Navy.
*Another big SEC battle, this involving a Georgia team that has now won three straight games and has shut out two of those teams (Ky and Missouri). Auburn gave LSU their toughest game, falling by three and then came back to beat Ole Miss, 20-14. Neither team has been very explosive as of late. Bo Nix threw for 340 yards last week against Ole Miss. The freshman will have a much tougher test this wwk. But the Tigers are at home. This will be a tight one. Take the home dog (not Dawg).

That loss to Navy was laughable and anyone with any sense saw how over-matched Notre Dame had become, not in terms of talent, but in terms of employing a know-it-all coach who actually didn’t know a sneeze from a wet fart.
With it being Navy week I started to try and think of the most-memorable moments in the rivalry to me. For a series that has been played seemingly forever, I have very few actual lasting memories of it. With that said, a few did come to mind from games I remember watching.
2002 – A week after getting upset against Boston College, the Irish trailed 23-15 entering the fourth quarter before Carlyle Holiday threw two late touchdown passes, the final being the go-ahead score to Omar Jenkins to avoid a disasterous loss to a 1-7 Navy team.
2012 – Ten years later the Irish kicked off their season in Ireland, dismantling Navy 50-10. Stephon Tuitt’s fumble return for a touchdown helped blow things wide open on an afternoon that belonged to the Irish, even abroad in Dublin.
And the single worst in-game-decision Charlie Weis made at Notre Dame, which is saying something…
Here are five Cornhuskers who Badger fans should keep a close eye on throughout Saturday’s matchup between Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Fresh off of a crucial victory over Iowa last weekend to maintain possession of the Heartland Trophy, No. 13 Wisconsin hits the road to Lincoln to face a stumbling Nebraska squad on Saturday.
Head coach Scott Frost’s program has been one of the great disappointments in all of college football this season after opening as the No. 24 team in the land. While the Badgers were able to snap their two-game losing streak and stay alive in the Big Ten West race by taking care of business against the Hawkeyes, the 4-5 Cornhuskers are reeling after suffering three straight losses and mustering just one victory in their last five contests.
Wisconsin has won six in a row against Nebraska and is a 14.5-point favorite as of Tuesday, but Memorial Stadium can often be a difficult environment for visiting teams, especially for a rivalry game such as this. However, if an upset is in the cards, the Cornhuskers will need their stars at their best.
Here are five players on the opposing sideline who Badger fans should keep a close eye on throughout the game.
Nebraska’s upset hopes will ride squarely on the shoulders of its sophomore signal-caller.
A dark horse Heisman candidate in the eyes of many college football pundits leading into the season after a huge year in 2018 as a true freshman, Martinez hasn’t come remotely close to living up to that hype through the Cornhuskers’ first nine games. His accuracy has regressed and he’s already tossed six interceptions so far this season, which is the fourth most in the Big Ten. He’s only No. 9 in the conference in passing efficiency rating as well.
Nonetheless, as Martinez goes, so too does the Nebraska offense, which is often the case with quarterbacks but especially true here given that he is the team’s second-leading rusher as well as its top passer.
The Cornhuskers will likely need Martinez to have his best outing of the season against the Badgers if a victory is on the table. If he can replicate his state line from last season’s 41-24 loss at Camp Randall (24-42, 384 yds, 2 TD to go along with 13 carries for 57 yards), they’ll have a shot.
2. JD Spielman – Wide Receiver

A Third-Team All-Big Ten selection a season ago, Spielman has followed up his outstanding play in 2018 by serving as Nebraska’s most dangerous weapon on offense this year, though there’s a case to be made for the next player on this list as well.
As he has been throughout his entire career in Lincoln, the Cornhuskers’ leading receiver has been a big play waiting to happen whenever he touches the ball, ranking No. 5 in the conference in average yards per catch. The Badgers are all too familiar with Spielman’s playmaking ability after he torched them for a school-record 209 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions in last year’s meeting in Madison.
Wisconsin could have its hands full with Spielman again this weekend, as the junior wideout is red-hot coming off of back to back dominant showings; he had 6 receptions for 123 yards in the Nov. 2 loss to Purdue and racked up 5 catches for 95 yards the week before in the loss to Indiana.
