NFL.com’s latest five-round mock draft includes eight Longhorns

Texas DT Byron Murphy is taken off the board at No. 11 overall and RB Jonathon Brooks is projected in the first round.

The 2024 NFL draft begins in 20 days.

Texas could realistically have 10 players selected throughout the three-day event. Defensive tackle Byron Murphy is the Longhorns top rated draft prospect this year. He’s followed closely by wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell. The Texas trio could all hear their names called in the first round.

In Chad Reuter’s latest five-round NFL mock draft, he surprisingly projected running back Jonathon Brooks in the first round. It’s one of the first mocks that has included Brooks on Day 1, as many feel he will be a Day 2 pick after suffering an ACL tear last November.

Eight Longhorns were included in Reuter’s five-round mock. Here’s a look at where each of them landed.
