Lady Vols earn comeback win over Kentucky

Tennessee overcomes 17-point deficit to defeat Kentucky.

Tennessee (9-5, 2-0 SEC) defeated Kentucky (8-8, 1-1 SEC), 87-69, Sunday at Food City Center.

Kentucky led by as many as 17 points in the first-half. The Wildcats also led, 49-39, at halftime.

Sunday’s win is the Lady Vols’ second consecutive SEC comeback victory.

Rickea Jackson totaled a game-high 27 points for Tennessee. She also recorded seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Jewel Spear scored 21 points, while Jasmine Powell posted nine points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Lady Vols, who led, 66-60, at the end of the third quarter.

Tess Darby and Karoline Striplin finished with eight points each for Tennessee, while Tamari Key scored two points and had six blocks.

Ajae Petty posted a double-double for the Wildcats, recording 14 points and 14 rebounds.
