There’s no doubt that Texas wide receivers Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson are talented and each possess unique attributes that should catch the eye of every NFL organization.
However, they’re polar opposites in regards to style of play. Duvernay is a speedy slot receiver with more of a stocky frame who’s dangerous with the ball in his hands. He’s consistent, recording only five drops throughout his four-year collegiate career.
Johnson is the big-bodied type of receiver that has a wide catch radius, who can fill in as a team’s No. 1 option. According to FOX college football analyst Joe Klatt, fit has everything to do with their success at the next level.

Klatt expressed that Johnson could have immediate success with an organization such as the Philadelphia Eagles, who are hurting for receiver depth and don’t have a true No. 1 option on the outside with that type of size and talent.
Duvernay could have more suitors who are in need of a speedy slot receiver who produces yards after the catch. Klatt feels the former Longhorn would fit seamlessly with quarterback Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
The Texas duo is expected to be selected on day two or three of the 2020 NFL Draft. Whichever two teams are lucky enough to land them, they’re sure to utilize their strengths.
