UGA Twitter reacts: EA Sports announces CFB video game reboot

EA Sports has announced the return of their extremely popular college football video game. Here’s how UGA Twitter reacted to the news.

It has been a great day for college football fans with EA Sports announcing the return of their extremely popular college football video game.

The franchise last released a game in 2013 and halted production after agreeing to pay a $40 million lawsuit filed by former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon over the use of name, image and likeness in the game.

NCAA rules are set to change in the next year due to pressure from state and federal lawmakers, so while the company says they are moving forward without using name, image and likeness, there may be opportunities to include those aspects in the near future.

Regardless, this is a win for sports gamers and college football fans everywhere.

Here’s what UGA Twitter had to say about the big announcement:

Twitter reacts after Urban Meyer is named Jacksonville Jaguars head coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer as Jaguars head coach on Thursday. Twitter reacts here.

In a surprising move, the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer as Jaguars head coach on Thursday.

Instead of looking to the League to fill its coaching vacancy, Jacksonville turned to Meyer, 56, who has been in retirement for two years after a six-year stent at Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to three Big Ten titles and the 2015 National Championship.

DawgNation remembers Meyer most for his five years spent at Florida where he led the Gators to two SEC Championships and two national titles (2006, 2008).

What makes the Jaguars hire so surprising, other than the fact Meyer has no NFL experience and has been retired for two years, is that Meyer retired for health reasons in 2009 while at Florida and did the same a second time in 2018 while at Ohio State.

I suppose he has been eating his Wheaties during his time off.
