Twitter defends Marvin Harrison Jr. after Georgia memorabilia company sells tasteless photo

Does this cross the line? Many thought so. #GoBucks

When the hit on [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] wide receiver [autotag]Marvin Harrison Jr.[/autotag] was made in real-time during the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, many of us thought it was a clear and obvious targeting penalty. After a commercial break, the referees decided it was a clean hit (it was NOT) that  sidelined Harrison Jr. for the remainder of the game.

Well, it seems like a Georgia memorabilia company is trying to reap the benefits of this illegal hit. They are selling a Georgia safety [autotag]Javon Bullard[/autotag], (who hit Harrison Jr.), signed photo and Twitter wasn’t having any of it.

See the best reactions from fans and media and the man himself regarding this company trying to collect after Harrison Jr. suffered a concussion.

Marvin Harrison Jr. reacts to signed ‘Night Night’ Georgia picture from hit that knocked him out of Peach Bowl

How do you feel about this? #GoBucks

Sometimes you run across something and you wonder what in the world people were thinking. There are things that inherently come with competition and then there are the blurred lines of bad taste.

Consider this one in the latter category.

Two photos are being sold by a Georgia-based memorabilia company named More Than Sports that are signed by Bulldogs defensive back Jevon Bullard. The images are of the hit that knocked Marvin Harrison Jr. out of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Both are being sold for $129.99 and have Bullard’s signature with the tagline “Night Night” inscribed underneath.

We could go into all sorts of reasons this is a bad idea, but anyone reading this can figure out the why. Sure, let’s celebrate a controversial call that knocked a kid out and put him in concussion protocol, shall we?

The photos did not go unnoticed by Harrison. He captioned a tweet of the photo and reacted with ” ‘Night Night’ lol bet” on his own Twitter account Tuesday evening.

Even more disappointing to many will be the description of one of the photos. It reads:

“Javon Bullard hand signed photo. Javon Bullard knows for his Chickfla Peach Bowl MVP and MVP in the National Championship as well!! This is iconic shot of potential game saving hit that was laid on on Marvin Harrison Jr!!”

The hit on Harrison was clearly one of the pivotal plays in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Ohio State was up 35-24 very late in the third quarter and driving again. Harrison was having a day and his loss significantly impacted the offense. The Buckeyes managed just six points from that point, including the field goal they had to settle for after that play. So, yeah, it was a big play in the game. But to celebrate a situation in which a young man was injured?

We are reminded time and time again that there’s a difference between winning and winning with class.

Ohio State in the Peach Bowl pulls in more viewers than Michigan in the Fiesta

Is this worth bragging about? #GoBucks

For the first time since its inception in 2014, both Ohio State and Michigan made it to the promised land known as the four-team College Football Playoff. It was the first time any conference outside of the SEC saw two teams make the format, and unfortunately, both Big Ten schools came up short in two pretty amazing games.

But you know we like to brag anytime Ohio State beats Michigan in anything. It could be rock, paper, scissors between two graduate assistants and we’d be ready to bring the news to you. Well, we have one such instance because according to the PR department of ESPN, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl between Ohio State and Georgia pulled in more viewers than Michigan vs. TCU in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl.

According to the release, OSU vs. UGA delivered 22.1 million viewers and peaked out at 23.9 million viewers between 9:45 to 10 p.m. Meanwhile, TCU’s upset of Michigan also drew a massive audience but fell short of those watching OSU at 21.4 million viewers. The peak was higher at 26.4 million, but the overall audience was not.

The two contests together were the most viewed non-New Year’s Day semifinals and was the best in five years. It was the 3rd most-watched semifinal in the CFP era. It didn’t hurt that both games were entertaining and classic, but it also didn’t hurt that Ohio State was involved.

That’s right. The most-watched College Football Playoff semifinal of all time was Ohio State’s win over Alabama in 2014. Like we always say; Ohio State football turns on television sets (and streaming devices).

Noah Ruggles’ mom says he takes full responsibility for loss, thanks Buckeye Nation

Noah Ruggles’ mom took to Twitter to thank Buckeye Nation. Love it and we should all thank the Ruggles family for sharing Noah with the program. #GoBucks

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl was one for the ages, at least if you were a Georgia fan. The Buckeyes controlled most of the game and seemed to have it in hand before a fourth-quarter Georgia comeback. The outcome was in doubt until a missed field goal in the final seconds by OSU kicker Noah Ruggles that would have won the game.

The end result was a 42-41 thriller that Ohio State really should have won. And while the life of a field goal kicker can be a love/hate relationship with a fan base, there’s no denying what Noah Ruggles has meant for this Ohio State program. Until that kick, Ruggles had missed only two field goals all season and had already drilled a clutch 48-yarder to put the Buckeyes up by six points late in the game.

However, he would be called upon last time, and we found out he was indeed human as the pressure of the moment seemed to get to him as 2022 literally came to a close on New Year’s Eve.

Ruggles was noticeably distraught after the game and didn’t have any comments to provide, but that didn’t stop his mom, Jackie, from speaking on his behalf in a very classy manner. She was quick to point out how Ruggles felt and the gratitude that she, Noah, and the family have for Buckeye Nation.

We all know there are a minority of loud, obnoxious fans that fired criticism at Ruggles, but this Ohio State program was better with him a part of it the last couple of years. It’s Buckeye Nation that should be thanking him and his family for sharing him in a scarlet and gray uniform.

He leaves the program as the most accurate kicker in Ohio State history, and that should be remembered more than the last time his toe hit the leather on Saturday night.

Ohio State’s Ryan Day and C.J. Stroud react to Chick-fil-A heartbreaker

Hear everything Ryan Day and C.J. Stroud said after the heartbreaking loss in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. #GoBucks

It’s been a rough, emotional five weeks for the Ohio State football team. First came the meltdown in the second half against Michigan on Thanksgiving weekend, and now this. The Buckeyes had the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs on the ropes in Atlanta and let them off the hook.

You have to give credit to the SEC champions, but anytime you have a 14-point lead three times in a game, you expect to nail it down.

Nevertheless, it was a valiant effort by an Ohio State team not many gave a chance to hang with Georgia. There are no moral victories, and we’re sure every player in the locker room afterward was devastated, but their head coach and quarterback met with the media to face the music.

Catch everything Ryan Day and C.J. Stroud said after the heartbreaking loss to Georgia in the postgame press conference thanks to the fine folks at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl as uploaded to the Buckeyes Wire YouTube Channel.

Ohio State heads into the offseason, and it’ll be interesting to see who goes to the NFL, who stays, what happens with the transfer portal and name, image and likeness deals, and what the team looks like next season.

We will, of course, be all over all of that.

WATCH: What Kirby Smart and Stetson Bennett said about Ohio State after the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and quarterback Stetson Bennett had nothing but praise for Ohio State after the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. #GoBucks

An all-time classic Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl went on the wrong side of the ledger for Ohio State on Saturday against Georgia. Still, if you are a Buckeye fan, you had to be proud of the effort and feel at least a little bit better than how you felt after the Michigan debacle.

To be fair, the Georgia fan base and media didn’t think this would be much of a game, and there’s no doubt they know the Bulldogs dodged a huge bullet against a team that played well enough to knock them off their perch. In fact, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was quick to commend and compliment Ohio State, and so was quarterback Stetson Bennett.

Both met with the media after the game to discuss what happened on the field of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and, among other subjects, talked about what a performance Ohio State had and how difficult the game was. They showed nothing but respect for the other sideline.

Catch everything they said thanks to the fine folks at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl as uploaded to our Buckeyes Wire YouTube Channel.

Ohio State will go into the offseason looking to beat Michigan and get back to the College Football Playoff.

Best photos of Ohio State vs. Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Check out some of the best photos of Ohio State vs. Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. #GoBucks #CFAPeach Bowl

It was a classic, but not one Ohio State football fans are going to keep on their DVRs. The Buckeyes led against Georgia for almost the entire game, but let a 14-point lead evaporate three times and missed a field goal as time expired that would have won a thrilling and dramatic Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal.

In the end, there are a lot of what-ifs and if onlys at the end of a 42-41 heartbreaker. Even though Buckeye Nation is defeated for the second time in a little more than a month, we have some of the best photos of the action to share with you in a scrolling gallery.

Enjoy the images and the thoughts of regret for the missed opportunity in Atlanta.

Twitter reacts to Ohio State loss to Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Twitter reacts to Ohio State loss #GoBucks

The Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Georgia Bulldogs, 42-41, in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Ohio State played much better than most experts expected, but with multiple leads throughout the game — some being by double digits — it is a bit deflating to think of what might have been. Ohio State had a few ups and downs, but there is no doubt one of the biggest obstacles was the Marvin Harrison Jr. injury.

C.J. Stroud showed how great this offense could be when he uses his legs, and it is upsetting to think of what this team could have accomplished with a healthy roster and a running Stroud against Michigan, but let’s dive into the latest reactions from Twitter.

Five things we learned from Ohio State’s heartbreak at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Heartbreak in Atlanta. Here are five things we took from Ohio State’s loss to Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. #GoBucks

It sure looked like a winning effort by the Ohio State football team for most of the night. It had the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs on the ropes but couldn’t seal the deal in an all-time classic at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

There’s a lot to peel in this one, but you have to at least give the OSU team credit for coming to play and giving the Bulldogs all they could handle. However, this sure feels like a big, lost opportunity, and one that got away after a 42-41 loss.

It’s been a very rough five weeks for Ohio State football players, fans and coaches, but when you have a chance to play for some pretty big things, these emotions can be a byproduct.

We like to look at everything after each Buckeye contest and pull out five things that stood out. Here’s what we took away from this one.

Twitter reacts to Emeka Egbuka touchdown

Twitter reacts to Emeka Egbuka touchdown #GoBucks

The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently leading the Georgia Bulldogs, 35-24, and with a tad more than ten minutes left in the third quarter, Ohio State is inching closer to a bid in the national championship if it can keep making plays. After a big Buckeye defensive stop, the Ohio State offense came out ready to roll and Emeka Egbuka finished the drive off with an impressive touchdown reception.

C.J. Stroud has completed 18 of his 22 passing attempts for 292 yards and four touchdowns, and Egbuka has had a great game as well with six receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. Egbuka also added three yards on the ground on one carry. Let’s dive into the Twitter reactions to the most recent touchdown.
