15 of our favorite photos from the SAG Awards red carpet, from Zendaya to Austin Butler

The stars were out in California on Sunday night.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place Sunday evening (February 26), bringing glitzy and glamorous celebrities from television and movies to the red carpet in Los Angeles. As to be expected, the stars shone brightly in gorgeous dresses and stunning tuxedos.

Although everyone looked fabulous, we’ve picked 15 of our favorite shots from Sunday night’s affair. Unsurprisingly, the Everything Everywhere All At Once crew of Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu shone — the former also took home a SAG Award — and Austin Butler made everyone else look bad just by being too handsome.

Enough talking. Let’s get to the pictures.

Bill Walton reacts to a spot-on SNL impression of him with his own chaotically poetic Twitter thread

He calls himself a “spiritual nomad” and provides live commentary for a game that will happen in the future.

THROW IT DOWN, BIG MAN. THROW IT DOWN.

SNL’s James Austin Johnson, a cast member who also impersonates President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on the sketch comedy show, joined Michael Che for a segment impersonating Bill Walton.

From the moment that he came on the screen, Johnson captured so many of the idiosyncratic specificities of what it’s like to listen to the Basketball Hall of Famer whenever he is providing color commentary for a game.

Johnson, as Walton, called SNL “perhaps the premiere comedy show in the history of Western civilization” and he then quickly rattled off a handful of new nicknames for Che.

The comedian completely nailed Walton’s voice, smile, teeth, rhythm, cadence, wardrobe, expressive hand gestures, metaphors, tendencies to relate everything to the Grateful Dead, and signature catchphrases.

He calls himself a “spiritual nomad” and provides live commentary for a game that will happen in the future, and he discusses how basketball moves him to tears. It felt just like a conversation with Walton.

Just as perfect, though, was how the 1977 NBA Finals MVP reacted when he saw the performance. Here was how Walton responded on Twitter:

“there I was, alone in my hotel room, in glorious Oregon,

trying to come down, from the veritable quandaries of yet another scintillating buzzer beating ending to a Conference of Champions BB game,

I had the TV on,

suddenly, I was watching and listening to myself,

and it all came into focus, and everything was crystal clear,

as I drifted and dreamed my way into another perfect night of being comfortably numb

on a series of white puffy cumulus clouds,

floating my way once again to The Promised Land,

in wondrous anticipation of Throw It Down”

Yeah, that’s pretty much exactly how you would expect Walton to feel about unexpectedly seeing an impression of himself on live television.

Walton hosts “Throw it Down with Bill Walton” as an alternative game telecast streamed exclusively on select Mondays on NBA League Pass via the new NBA App.

The commentator also spoke to For The Win to share the true story of why you see tie-dyed Lithuanian basketball shirts at Grateful Dead shows,

Jenna Ortega, Aubrey Plaza hilariously present award together at SAG Awards

Someone get Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza in the same project, ASAP.

If the Spider-Man pointing meme featured two of the most recognizable actresses in Hollywood, it was on display at Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.

While presenting one of the night’s categories, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega and The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza surprised the crowd by joining each other on stage for a moment of absolute gold.

Ortega and Plaza have both made a name for themselves for their delightfully deadpan, meticulously macabre on-screen personas. The pair knowingly winked at the audience for how hilarious it was that they’d be giving out an award together.

Whether it’s starring in a Scream film (Ortega) or playing April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation (Plaza), the two draw easy comparisons and practically beg for someone to cast them together in a movie or television show.

As the SAG Awards transition to a new home at Netflix, moments like this will work wonders to get more people interested in the acting celebration.

But seriously, Hollywood, make this collaboration happen ASAP.

Season 3 of Outer Banks is now on Netflix, and here’s a reminder that you should be watching this ridiculous show

The new season of Outer Banks dropped today on Netflix, and it’s somehow infuriatingly absurd and also a must-watch.

It’s time to head back to the OBX, folks. The third season of Netflix’s drama Outer Banks drops on the streaming platform Thursday and anticipation is high. If you somehow missed the Outer Banks obsession during April of 2020, when everyone binged the Dawson’s-Creek-meets-Uncharted series, it’s time to get on it.

Outer Banks is an absolutely ridiculous, absurd show that will drive you nuts and probably make you angry more than a few times an episode. This is the show that purported you can take a ferry from the Outer Banks to the college town of Chapel Hill, after all.

And I cannot recommend it enough.

As we look forward to whatever glorious nonsense happens this season, let’s take a quick look at the endeavors of the first two seasons to make sure everyone is all caught up with where we left off with John B, JJ, Pope, Kiara and Sarah.

In season one, John B (Chase Stokes), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (J.D.) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) — who go by Pogues, the nickname for locals — are on the hunt for a long lost treasure. The fancy and rich Sarah (Madelyn Cline) joins the crew on this journey as the group uses various maps and knicknacks (mostly left by John B’s missing and mysterious father) to attempt to track down the gobs of gold somewhere out there in the OBX. There’s a lot of drama and intrigue (and a few murders), and we learn Sarah’s dad, Ward (Charles Esten), is bad news in the worst way.

The season ends with a cliffhanger as John B and Sarah head into a storm.

BUT IT’S OK! THEY SURVIVE.

John B and Sarah make their way to the Bahamas to try and steal back the gold bars from Ward, but things go awry. While everyone thinks John B and Sarah are dead, life continues in North Carolina. Pope gets involved in a journey searching for a giant gold cross that has ties to his family lineage in the Outer Banks (and rumored magical healing powers — not joking), and things end up with more murders and Ward faking his own death with a yacht explosion.

After all that, no one got any treasure, and John B’s dad is alive!

If you’re thinking, “Wow this sounds like an absolute mess,” well, you’d be 100 percent correct. You should also stop what you’re doing and immediately watch it. Let IMDb user symmetrymis sell you on it with this flawless review:

IMDb review that reads "My goodness this show is garbage. Beautiful unreal garbage. Everything that happens is unintentionally hilarious. I can't wait for season 3." and gives 5 of 10 stars.

Bachelor Ep. 5 recap: Contenders, pretenders and power rankings

Corgis, COVID and UB40.

The Bachelor‘s drama roadshow crossed the pond this week as Zach and the contestants took London by storm. If you were hoping for a lot of Americans saying “cheerio” and using bad British accents, well, you’re in luck.

Despite Greer having a tattoo of a tea cup, Zach chooses Gabi to accompany him on the first one-on-one date in England. Greer took that about as well as you would expect. Zach and Gabi created a fragrance, tried on designer gowns (well, Gabi did) and she got to waltz back into the hotel with arms full of bags on bags of fancy shoes and clothes.

The other women were just thrilled for her. Thrilled. Oh, wait, no, they were fake happy.

The rest of the date was blah blah whatever UB40 SHOWED UP, DEAR READERS! Usually the solo concerts are awkward, and we get a forced, “Oh, I love [insert singer or band literally no one has heard of]” from the contestants. This time, it was the iconic UB40 singing (I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You. Whatever you do, if you know who UB40 is, don’t Twitter search the band because you’ll feel very, very old.

Things took a turn on the group date as Zach no-showed, saying he was too under the weather to go. The contestants still went on a double-decker bus, where they complained, got rained on and all around had a terrible time.

Turns out, Zach had COVID, although host Jesse Palmer’s delivery was exceedingly dramatic. The cocktail party and rose ceremony were done virtually — the first time in Bachelor history — and Kylee and Mercedes were sent back stateside without a rose.

Let’s get into the contenders, pretenders, those that have work to do and our Top Five.

A ‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant’s ‘fresh tropical fruit’ blunder cost her a trip to Antigua

This was a devastating mistake to make.

It’s always rough to see Wheel of Fortune mistakes go viral, but this one was especially devastating.

On Monday, during Wheel of Fortune’s Teen Week, one contestant made an unfortunate mistake that cost her a trip to Antigua. The puzzle in question was in the “Food & Drink” category, with the answer ending up to be “fresh tropical fruit”.

After successfully guessing “H” at the end of the first word to bring the puzzle down to just one letter, the contestant then guessed “G” instead of “S” to make the answer “fregh tropical fruit”. Given that it’s Teen Week, it’s hard to be angry at the incorrect guess since getting up on stage and going on national television is quite the ask for any teenager.

Just a real unfortunate mistake all around.

Marvel Studios pushes The Marvels release date to November

We could see a few more titles pushed back as Marvel Studios and Disney spread out content.

You’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for the return of Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan as Marvel Studios announced they’ll be pushing The Marvels back to a November 10 release date. The Marvels was originally scheduled for a July 8 release.

This aligns with the new strategy announced from both Disney CEO Bob Iger and Marvel head Kevin Feige in recent comments to the media about slowing down the release of content. Some of this is as a result of cost-cutting, but it also will cut down on Marvel fatigue and allow projects to have a moment to shine.

In 2020 and 2021, Marvel released seven movies and eight Disney+ shows. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still slated to hit theaters May 5, but it’s unclear what will happen with the Secret Invasion and Echo series that were supposed to release mid-2023. The second season of Loki does not yet have a release date, but with its tie-ins to Kang — the big baddie of both Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the next two phases — it likely won’t delay much.

Quantumania is in theaters now.

6 actors (Jesse Plemons!) who should play John Madden in Tom Brady’s limited series

A limited series about legendary NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden is in the works.

The life and times of late NFL legend John Madden are heading to a television near you in the future.

A limited series about the accomplished coach and broadcaster is on the way from filmmaker Gavin O’Connor and executive producer/newly retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

While you can guess what Brady brings to the table, O’Connor has plenty of experience telling sports-based stories, having directed the Disney hockey drama Miracle, the MMA drama Warrior and the Ben Affleck-led basketball drama The Way Back.

While a broadcasting home and casting have yet to be finalized, Brady spoke to why he’s so engaged with working on the project (via Deadline).

“I grew up admiring John Madden, first as a coach, then as a commentator. I loved John’s passion for the game, especially his insatiable appetite for educating audiences about football. He welcomed fans with that warm smile, infectious laugh, and exceptional knowledge of the game, making everyone feel as if John were watching the broadcast right next to them on their living room sofa.”

The major question now is who will play Madden in the project?

Whether it’s Oakland Raiders-era Madden or Monday Night Football-era Madden, we’ve got some ideas for who might lead the project.

The Bachelor 2023 recap: Contenders, pretenders and power rankings after ep. 4

The crew went to the Bahamas and the drama followed.

Week four of Zach Shallcross’s journey to find Forever Love hit the road, taking the ladies to the Bahamas for some fun in the sun. By fun, we of course mean ridiculous drama and a lot of pastel-toned clothes.

Cat got the one-on-one, and Zach took her on a pretty sweet boat date. There was swimming, kissing and SO MUCH sunscreen application.

The group date saw Zach and the ladies go to a beach-side party with conch fritters, lobsters, limbo and — you guessed it — drama. Kylee and Anastasia had some disagreements bubble over into the evening portion of the date, leading to

Brooklyn, our voice of reason from last week’s drama with Christina Mandrell, was rewarded with the second one-on-one date of the episode. After some ATV riding, Brooklyn shared her devastating history of escaping a domestic violence situation.

The cocktail party hadn’t even begun before Zach decided it was time to send Anastasia packing, and two more women — Genevie and Davia — went home.

Let’s get into the contenders, pretenders, those that have work to do and our Top Five.
