Is SNL new tonight on April 27, 2024? Here’s the answer

Is SNL new tonight? Here’s the answer.

We’ve had a great season of Saturday Night Live, with some fantastic moments, from Christopher Walken’s Foo Fighters introduction to the Beavis and Butt-Head sketch to a very funny Scarlett Johansson’s surprise cold open.

And if you’re here, you might be getting ready to watch SNL on Saturday, April 27, 2024 and wondering: is it all new tonight? Who’s hosting?

The answer … sadly, no. You’ll get a previously-aired episode with Sydney Sweeney hosting (remember the Air Bud sketch?) and Kacey Musgraves as the musical guest. When is the next new SNL, you ask? Good question! It’ll be May 4, with Dua Lipa doing double duty as host and musical guest:

The SNL Beavis and Butt-Head NewsNation skit was the most randomly funny sketch of the year

This might be the funniest but most random SNL sketch of 2024.

Beavis and Butt-Head … in a Saturday Night Live sketch … in 2024 … and they’re not actually the cartoon characters we all loved in the 1990s?

AND, on top of that … it was funny?

Yeah! As you’ll see below, this skit from Ryan Gosling’s episode on Saturday was surprisingly hilarious. In it, Heidi Gardner plays a host talking to an AI expert played by Kenan Thompson, and suddenly, there’s Gosling dressed and looking like Beavis in the background. What’s more, then Mikey Day shows up looking like Butt-Head, but they claim they’re not the real-life versions of the cartoon characters.

Just watch and laugh and enjoy. It doesn’t need to make sense:

Watch SNL’s Scarlett Johansson hilarious parody of Katie Britt’s post-SOTU speech in surprise cold open

This was very funny.

It might be the question you asked when watching Alabama senator Katie Britt deliver her State of the Union rebuttal speech after President Joe Biden gave his address on Thursday: Who’s going to play her on Saturday Night Live?

The answer? How about an actress who’s readily available in New York and also married to a cast member (that would be Colin Jost, in case you didn’t know)?

Yep, Scarlett Johansson gave a parody speech as Britt, and lots of people had a laugh over the whole thing, which you can watch below (WARNING: there’s some NSFW language in there):

Big-time Notre Dame fan to host Saturday Night Live

Will he mention the Fighting Irish at all on SNL?

A former Saturday Night Live cast member, who was fired in 2019, is returning to host the show on February 24 of this year.  And it just so happens this comedian happens to be a big-time Notre Dame football fan.

Shane Gillis, who is in the middle of a tour that’s seemingly sold out nationwide, was set to be a cast member of SNL in 2019 but a podcast clip from over a year earlier surfaced where Gillis used slurs in describing different groups.

If you want to find out what he said then Google is readily available for you but we won’t share that or his apology here.

Instead, we’ll point out that Gillis is a big-time Notre Dame football fan.  He’s shared stories (largely inappropriate ones) about traveling to South Bend for the spring game as a teenager and also shared about being in Dublin for Notre Dame-Navy in 2023 and nearly seeing Brady Quinn get in a fight.

Those are all a simple YouTube search away for you check out.  No idea if he’ll reference Notre Dame football at all when he hosts SNL later this month but perhaps between Donald Trump impressions he’ll show a little ND love.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes supports Travis Kelce’s non-football interests

Kansas City #Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters that he supports tight end Travis Kelce’s non-football interests.

The popularity of the Kansas City Chiefs over the past few seasons has sparked many players to be featured in commercials, shows, and many different campaigns over the years. The constant attention can influence players to pursue more outside of the sport, distracting the franchise.

The increased attention over the years surrounding Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce would be a lot for most players, but the multiple-time All-Pro continues to move unfazed. Whether it’s his many commercial spots, podcasts, dating life, or hosting Saturday Night Live, he remains focused on football. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes took time during his Wednesday press conference to praise Kelce’s ability to balance and stay down to earth.

“Travis has always been Travis,” Mahomes told reporters. “It’s been cool to watch for me because he has all that attention, but he’s just been himself the whole time. He’s still Travis Kelce, He will still walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they’re his best friend. And he’s going to be like that in the locker room every single day. It hasn’t been any different.”

Kelce finished only 16 yards shy of another 1,000-yard season after missing two games, displaying the dedication to winning and production regardless of outside interests. Mahomes would highlight Kelce’s recent appearances on SNL, including a hosting spot last year.

“It was really cool; It was a dream of his. He knows all the skits from guys that were on Saturday Night Live,” said Mahomes, “He was telling me the ones from before I was even born. I was like, ‘Trav, I’m not the same age as you, I don’t even know who that is.'”

Kelce made it very clear that he’s not done playing football amid the rumors that he was considering retirement. His actions fit head coach Andy Reid’s philosophy, allowing players to express themselves well beyond the game.

Peyton Manning using kids on the ‘ManningCast’ reminded viewers of funny ‘SNL’ skit

Peyton Manning had his son, Marshall, and four other kids practicing on the ‘ManningCast,’ reminding football fans of that classic SNL skit.

Peyton Manning is back on ESPN2 with his brother, Eli, this season for Year 3 of the ManningCast, an alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football for 10 games each fall.

Peyton and Eli invite guests to appear on the show each week — last week featured Aaron Rodgers, Klay Thompson and Tiffany Haddish — and the 49ers-Vikings game also featured appearances from five of the smallest guests in ManningCast history.

Peyton had his son, Marshall, and four of his friends demonstrate how San Francisco uses pre-snap movement to disorganize a defense.

“Go do your homework, boys,” Peyton says after the demonstration.

Check it out:

“Is this what you do — do you yell at your players like that,” Eli asked Peyton after the demonstration. “Do you yell at them all the time?”

Eli was obviously joking, but he wasn’t the only one who teased Peyton for the demonstration on Monday. Many football fans were reminded of Peyton’s hilarious Saturday Night Live skit from 2007.
