6 actors (Jesse Plemons!) who should play John Madden in Tom Brady’s limited series

A limited series about legendary NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden is in the works.

The life and times of late NFL legend John Madden are heading to a television near you in the future.

A limited series about the accomplished coach and broadcaster is on the way from filmmaker Gavin O’Connor and executive producer/newly retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

While you can guess what Brady brings to the table, O’Connor has plenty of experience telling sports-based stories, having directed the Disney hockey drama Miracle, the MMA drama Warrior and the Ben Affleck-led basketball drama The Way Back.

While a broadcasting home and casting have yet to be finalized, Brady spoke to why he’s so engaged with working on the project (via Deadline).

“I grew up admiring John Madden, first as a coach, then as a commentator. I loved John’s passion for the game, especially his insatiable appetite for educating audiences about football. He welcomed fans with that warm smile, infectious laugh, and exceptional knowledge of the game, making everyone feel as if John were watching the broadcast right next to them on their living room sofa.”

The major question now is who will play Madden in the project?

Whether it’s Oakland Raiders-era Madden or Monday Night Football-era Madden, we’ve got some ideas for who might lead the project.

Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen discuss an important question in Lay’s latest teaser

Seth Rogen asks it. Paul Rudd answers…

A lot has changed in the advertising world since Lay’s last appearance in the Super Bowl commercial mix 17 years ago. From the cost to the concepts, social media, even the idea of Los Angeles having much to do with the big game. Things back then were just… different.

And that includes the use of teasers for the Super Bowl commercials, which is a growing trend in the Digital Age, where a little bit of buzz today equals a lot of “ah-HA” moments during the release of the actual ad tomorrow.

While that concept might seem simple enough to follow, actor Seth Rogen isn’t totally sure about all the trendy hoopla—regardless if it’s his pal and fellow actor Paul Rudd convincing him while they are filming…yep: a teaser…for Lay’s return to advertising’s most prominent stage…. in Los Angeles (of course)… on February 13.

Take a look:

The brand’s 2005 Super Bowl ad “Fence” had a decent reception in the USA TODAY Ad Meter ratings that year, with the comical time-machine twist staring M.C. Hammer landing at No. 21 out of 55 eligible commercials.

With the star power and comedy chops of this year’s duo, it will be interesting to see if Lay’s can top that mark in the 2022 ratings.

Saints receiver Michael Thomas wants to troll haters like Seth Rogen

See why New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas wants to be like Seth Rogen.

NFL players have been speaking out en masse recently, and rightfully so, regarding the social injustice in society in light of the death of George Floyd last week, which has sparked outrage and protests both here and aboard.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers players took part in #BlackoutTuesday yesterday in a show of solidarity, and even Bucs coach Bruce Arians got involved. Fellow NFC South resident Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints has himself been very active on social media lately regarding recent events, and took some time recently to admire the trolling efforts of movie star Seth Rogen.

Rogen went off on haters the other day on Twitter after voicing his support for BLM, using some not-so-clean language to get his point across. While those tweets aren’t appropriate to post here, Thomas did take notice and showed Rogen love on Twitter.

Take a look.
