Derrick Henry with jump pass TD throw to Austin Hooper

Derrick Henry can beat you with his legs and now his arm

You think you have Derrick Henry stopped and then he pulls a Tim Tebow on you.

The Titans’ great running back looked like he hit a traffic jam with Tennessee deep in Green Bay territory on Thursday.

However, Henry had other ideas as he pulled up and jumped. Henry found a wide-open Austin Hooper in the end zone to give the Titans a 20-9 lead in the third quarter.

Josh Lambo’s PAT attempt hit the upright and was no good.

Derrick Henry, Titans get tricky to convert on fourth down against Packers

Derrick Henry and the Titans converted a fourth-down with some trickeration

You better be certain of the play if you are going for it on fourth down.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill appeared lost in the second quarter as his team faced a fourth-and-inches.

Tricky, tricky.

Tannehill was actually in motion, sort of, and the direct snap went to Derrick Henry.

The Titans’ great running back surged through the trenches and picked up the first down.

Aaron Rodgers steals a touchdown from the Tennessee Titans

Aaron Rodgers stole a touchdown from the Tennessee Titans in the Packers’ must-win Thursday night game.

The Green Bay Packers came into Thursday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans with their season on the brink. The Packers were 4-6, and had to basically run the table for any chance at a postseason. The Titans scored first with a 14-yard pass from Ryan Tannehill to Dontrell Hilliard with 10:31 left in the first quarter, and Green Bay was unable to answer back through most of the first quarter.

And then, on the final play of that first quarter, Aaron Rodgers did one of those Aaron Rodgers things that only Aaron Rodgers can do. From the Tennessee 14-yard line, Rodgers called his team to the formation as the Titans were still getting their defense together, ran around until he found an opening, and threw a 50/50 ball to rookie receiver Christian Watson, who elevated over Titans cornerback Kristian Fulton for the score.

Watson, of course, was coming off Sunday’s three-touchdown game against the Dallas Cowboys, which the Packers won 31-28 in overtime. Rodgers established a rapport with the rookie that clearly transferred to Thursday night.

Packers’ faith in rookie WR Christian Watson could save their offense… and their season

Titans use flea-flicker touchdown to take lead over Broncos

Trickeration turned into a Tennessee Titans touchdown

The Tennessee Titans were having trouble with the Denver Broncos’ defense on Sunday in Nashville.

So, Mike Vrabel decided to go into his bag of tricks to try and shake things up.

The Titans coach called for a flea-flicker and it worked to perfection.

Ryan Tannehill handed off to Derrick Henry, who pitched the football back to his quarterback.

Tannehill then delivered a pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

The play was good for 63 yards and after the PAT the Titans led 14-10 after trailing 10-0.

Derrick Henry has another monster game against Texans

Derrick Henry owns the Houston Texans

The Tennessee Titans are just playing their games not getting any fanfare.

That’s because they aren’t winning big but they are doing enough to stay in first place in the AFC South.

They will likely get some more attention after Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans because star running back Derrick  Henry was unstoppable.

Henry went for 219 yards on 32 carries with a pair of touchdowns as Tennessee improved to 5-2 with a 17-10 victory.

Mike Vrabel did some job managing Malik Willis in his first start. The rookie from Liberty threw 10 passes, completing 6.

Malik Willis to start as Titans rule out Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill is unable to go in Week 8 for the Titans so Malik Willis will start

A quarterback shakeup for the Tennessee Titans due to the injury and illness of Ryan Tannehill.

The regular starter has been ruled out by Mike Vrabel’s team for Sunday’s game with the Houston Texans.

That means rookie, third-round draft pick Malik Willis will get the call to face the Titans’ AFC South rivals.

Willis was the 86th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Liberty.

Willis has played in two games, going 1-for-4 for 25 passing yards.

Tennessee Titans pick off pair of Matt Ryan passes

The Tennessee Titans have picked Matt Ryan twice and returned one for a TD

The Tennessee Titans are playing host to the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC South showdown on Sunday.

The Titans have given Matt Ryan a rude welcome, picking off the veteran quarterback twice in the first half.

Andrew Adams had the first interception and returned it 76 yards for a touchdown.

David Long Jr., who has a knack for picking off passes, grabbed the second one and returned it four yards.

NFL Week 6 Power Rankings: No lead is safe!

Week 6 NFL power rankings! Here’s how all 32 teams stand in a season where there’s been as much scoring volatility as we’ve ever seen.

In the 2022 NFL season, no lead is safe.

Per NFL Research, there have been 23 games decided by a game-winning touchdown within the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime this season, the third-most such games in the first six weeks of a season in pro football history. Only 2021 (25 games) and 2012 (24) have more.

There have been 18 games in which a team overcame a deficit of at least 10 points to win or tie this season, tied for the fourth-most such games through Week 6. Only 2020 (19 games), 2011 (19) and 1987 (19) have more.

12 of 14 games in Week 6 were within one score (eight points) in the fourth quarter. There have been 73 games within one score in the fourth quarter and 57 games decided by one score, both the most such games through the first six weeks in pro football history.

On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts overcame an 11-point deficit to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cincinnati Bengals overcame a 10-point deficit to beat the New Orleans Saints. The New York Giants overcame a 10-point deficit to beat the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants have now won three games this season in which they had a deficit of 10 or more points, and the Ravens have now lost three games in which they once had a double-digit lead.

On Sunday night, the Philadelphia Eagles got out to a 20-0 lead against the Dallas Cowboys, and had to hang on for dear life after Dallas came back to make the score 20-17. And on Monday night, the Los Angeles Chargers overcame a 10-point deficit to beat the Denver Broncos in overtime.

More than ever, teams are turning seemingly certain losses into wins, and vice versa. With all that volatility going on, here’s how all 32 NFL teams measure up in our Week 6 power rankings.

Secret Superstars for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season

Taysom Hill, Rhamondre Stevenson, Daymi Brown, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Baron Browning are among Doug Farrar’s Secret Superstars for Week 5.

There are all kinds of reasons that NFL players are underrated and unsung.

Perhaps they’re in systems that don’t best show their skills. Maybe they’re buried on a depth chart. Or, they’re in somebody’s doghouse, and their coaches can’t see their potential. Or, their efforts are relatively unnoticed among their more celebrated teammates. Sometimes, young players haven’t quite put it all together, but there are enough flashes to make you sit up and take notice, and when it does work, it’s all good.

Week 5 of the 2022 regular season featured players at just about every position who showed up and showed out despite their underrated statuses, and here at Touchdown Wire, it’s our job to point them out.

Rhamondre Stevenson, Dameon Pierce, Daymi Brown, Taysom Hill, Ethan Pocic, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Matt Judon, Baron Browning, Osa Odighizuwa, Teair Tart, Dre Greenlaw, Camerson Dantzler, and Caden Sterns are our Secret Superstars for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season.
