2022 San Francisco 49ers’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the San Francisco 49ers, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The San Francisco 49ers made it to the NFC Championship Game this last season as 1 of 3 teams in the NFC West to make the postseason. They eye another trip to the playoffs with second-year QB Trey Lance expected to lead the way as their starting quarterback in 2022.

Below, we look at the San Francisco 49ers 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

The 49ers saw several starters depart in free agency this offseason — RB Raheem Mostert, OL Laken Tomlinson, DT D.J. Jones and CB K’Waun Williams.

They added CB Charvarius Ward and S George Odum as their most notable signings in free agency and then DE Drake Jackson in the NFL draft.

San Francisco 49ers’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, May 17 at 8:35 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 9.5 (O: -150 | U: +125)

The 49ers won 10 games last season. They lost several starters and are moving on from QB Jimmy Garoppolo as they appear poised to turn to second-year QB Trey Lance to run the offense.

Coach Kyle Shanahan is 39-42 leading the 49ers. Garoppolo is 31-14 as a starter for the 49ers, which means Shanahan is 8-28 when he has someone other than Garoppolo starting.

Is Lance already ready to lead a playoff-contending team? That is the question.

I would not put money on the Over. I consider passing on this but I LEAN UNDER 9.5 WINS (+125).

San Francisco 49ers’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)

The 49ers are firmly considered a contender for the Super Bowl following their run to the conference championship. Only 5 teams have shorter odds. The favorites to win the Super Bowl this next season are the Buffalo Bills (+600) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000.

At +1500, San Francisco has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 6.25% or 15/1 fractional odds.

Conventional wisdom says that makes them worth at least a small wager to win it all. However, citing the 8-28 record the 49ers have since Shanahan became head coach when anyone other than Garoppolo starts, that isn’t a wager you can confidently make with Lance as the starter. This is not like Patrick Mahomes coming in as the starter for the Chiefs in his second season. He was a much more accomplished player than Lance was coming out of college.

PASS.

San Francisco 49ers’ 2022 playoff odds

Will 49ers make the playoffs: Yes -220 | No +175

San Francisco was one of the 3 wild card teams last season and did make it to the NFC Championship Game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

The odds suggest overwhelming optimism they will return to the postseason. The price makes it such that it isn’t worth it to bet on them making it.

However, the price for the 49ers not making the playoffs is tempting.

You look at the losses they had in free agency and their history without Garoppolo as their start and you wonder why the odds are what they are. The teams expected to win their respective divisions are the Rams, Bucs, Packers and Cowboys. After them, the wild-card race really is wide open.

Unless Lance is much better than he was a season ago, you have to really look hard at them missing the playoffs. I LEAN 49ERS DO NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (+175).

Odds to win NFC West Division

  • Los Angeles Rams +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • San Francisco 49ers +175 (bet $100 to win $175)
  • Arizona Cardinals +320 (best $100 to win $320)
  • Seattle Seahawks +1300 (bet $100 to win $1,300)

The 49ers are viewed as legitimate contenders for the NFC West title. The champion Rams with Matthew Stafford at quarterback and 3 stars leading the defense in Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and Bobby Wagner are +135, while the 49ers are +175 with an unproven and largely untested young quarterback.

I am not optimistic. PASS.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +650 (bet $100 to win $650)

Again, there are high hopes for the 49ers as only the Buccaneers, Rams and Packers have shorter odds. Their quarterbacks are Tom Brady, Stafford and Aaron Rodgers.

Do we really think that Lance will lead the 49ers over those teams and quarterbacks?

PASS.

2022 Seattle Seahawks’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Seattle Seahawks, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Seattle Seahawks begin a new era without quarterback Russell Wilson, whom they traded to the Denver Broncos this offseason after posting the first losing season since 2011 and missing the playoffs for only the second time since Wilson entered the league. What comes next in 2022 is perhaps a rebuild. Below, we look at the Seattle Seahawks’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

In addition to trading Wilson, the Seahawks also released LB Bobby Wagner after 10 seasons with the team. Three starting offensive linemen — Duane Brown, Ethan Pocic and Jamarco Jones — will not return as free agents. TE Gerald Everett and CB D.J. Reed both departed in free agency. They still have WR DK Metcalf, who had 75 catches for 967 yards and 12 touchdowns in a “down season.”

They acquired QB Drew Lock in the Wilson trade and re-signed QB Geno Smith. DT Shelby Harris and TE Noah Fant came over in the trade. They re-signed S Quandre Diggs and RB Rashaad Penny, and they signed free agents CB Artie Burns, CB Justin Coleman and DL Quinton Jefferson.

In the NFL draft, they selected OT Charles Cross in the first round and added DE Boye Mafe, RB Kenneth Walker III and OL Abraham Lucas on Day 2 of the draft.

Seattle Seahawks’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, May 17 at 7:45 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 5.5 (O: +115 | U: -140)

The Seahawks have not had fewer than 7 wins in any season since Pete Carroll became Seattle’s head coach. Lock went 4-9 as a starter in 2020, and Smith went 1-2 starting last season when Wilson was injured.

Seattle doesn’t appear to be going for a full rebuild, and even though they appear to be the weakest link in the NFC West, they still have games against the Giants, Jets, Panthers, Falcons and Lions, all of which are winnable games. They will sneak a game or two in the division, so they are likely looking at six or seven games.

Bet OVER 5.5 (+115).

Seattle Seahawks’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

The Seahawks are long shots. They are tied with the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars for the second-longest championship odds in the NFL. The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000 and the only team with longer odds.

The favorites to win the Super Bowl this next season are the Buffalo Bills (+600) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

At +10000, Seattle has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds.

Nope, run far from this bet. If they are riding with Lock or Smith at quarterback, the chances of being a .500 team are slim, much less win a championship.

PASS.

Seattle Seahawks’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Seahawks make the playoffs: Yes +450 | No -649

The Seahawks are clearly the worst team in terms of talent on the roster in the NFC West. They don’t have a proven starting quarterback. They lost their defensive leader and their best cover corner. They don’t have a consistent pass rush.

They aren’t making the playoffs, but at these odds for no, it isn’t worth a wager. They have 86.65% implied odds of not making the playoffs.

PASS.

Odds to win NFC West Division

  • Los Angeles Rams +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • San Francisco 49ers +175 (bet $100 to win $175)
  • Arizona Cardinals +320 (best $100 to win $320)
  • Seattle Seahawks +1300 (bet $100 to win $1,300)

The Seahawks finished last in the division last year, and that was with Wilson at quarterback. Their implied probability of winning the division is 7.14%. The Rams understandably are the favorites to win the division, and both the Cardinals and 49ers could contend, but unless Seattle does something else at quarterback, they have no shot. PASS.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

The Seahawks are tied with the Lions, Bears and Falcons for the longest odds in the conference to win the conference. Their implied odds of winning the conference are 1.96%. If they aren’t going to make the playoffs, they certainly can’t win the conference. PASS.

2022 Chicago Bears’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Chicago Bears, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Chicago Bears selected who they hope is their franchise quarterback, Justin Fields, in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He captained the way for much of 2021, which resulted in a 6-11 record.

The Bears finished third in their division. Chicago went without a first-round pick but did add Washington CB Kyler Gordon in the second round. The Bears No. 1 wide receiver, Allen Robinson, inked a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, leaving the Bears’ receiving corps thin.

The Chicago Bears haven’t won the NFC North since 2018 and have been to the playoffs 2 of the past 4 seasons, but they haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1985.

Below, we look at the Chicago Bears’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

Chicago Bears’ 2022 schedule

Chicago Bears’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 6.5 (O: -145 | U: +115)

Fields is going to improve, but he was just 2-8 as a starter last season. On top of still being young, Fields lost his best weapon and the Bears failed to replace Robinson’s production.

The Bears defense didn’t do much to improve after ranking 22nd in points allowed last season.

Chicago took a step back offensively and will be dependent on Fields, who completed under 60% of his attempts and didn’t perform convincingly well as a starter.

Pro Football Focus graded the Bears’ free agency a C and their draft a B-. Overall, they were dubbed an “average.” That should shine through, and it’s likely they struggle early and often.

For the plus-money value, BACK BEARS UNDER 6.5 (+115).

Chicago Bears’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

Chicago is tied for the second-longest odds to win it all. The Buffalo Bills (+600) are the favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

At +10000, Chicago has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 1% or 100/1 fractional odds. The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000.

I would look elsewhere to find value on Chicago than the BEARS (+10000) to win the Super Bowl. PASS.

Chicago Bears’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Bears make the playoffs: Yes +300 | No -400

As you can tell, backing the Bears isn’t in my forte.

However, Fields has potential, and his dual-threat ability could help  Chicago take off this season. While that feels doubtfully, betting on the Bears to miss the playoffs at -400 isn’t nearly worth the value.

The NFC isn’t as deep as the AFC, and teams like Seattle and Arizona could take a step back. With that in mind, the Bears could take a run, but at +300, it’s still wise to PASS here.

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Chicago Bears +900 (bet $100 to win $900)
  • Detroit Lions +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • Green Bay Packers -180 (bet $180 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Vikings +270 (bet $100 to win $270)

Chicago’s implied probability of winning the NFC North is 10% or 9/1 fractional odds.

The Packers are the only threat here, and there’s no chance to take a shot at the Bears or Lions to beat out the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers or Dalvin Cook-led Vikings.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +5000 (bet $100 to win $450)

The Bears’ offense won’t be able to keep up with either divisional foe, and it doesn’t seem likely that they’d be able to keep pace with the likes of the Rams or Bucs either. Their defense should again be average as well.

This is a PASS.

2022 Detroit Lions’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Detroit Lions, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

With new QB Jared Goff, the Detroit Lions kicked off 2021 with 8 straight losses. They Lions tied their next game and lost 2 more before finally getting a victory in their 12th game of the season. They did finish 3-13-1, winning 3 of their last 6.

Below, we look at the Detroit Lions’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

The Lions had 2 first-round picks in the recent NFL Draft. They selected Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson with the second-overall pick and Alabama WR Jameson Williams at No. 12.

With 2020 third-overall pick CB Jeff Okudah (Ohio State) back as well, the trio should help Detroit improve upon their recent 3-win season.

Detroit has never won the NFC North and hasn’t won a division title since 1993 when they were in the NFC Central. They last made the playoffs 6 seasons ago in 2016-17.

Detroit Lions’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, May 17 at 4:41 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 6.5 (O: +125 | U: -160)

The Lions lost 6 one-score games last season. Considering the improved weapons they’ll have both defensively and offensively, Goff is going to have all he needs to succeed.

The offensive line should be capable behind 2021 first-round pick T Penei Sewell (7th overall out of Oregon). Their defense will get a much-needed boost from Okudah and Hutchinson, hopefully improving upon their 31st-most points given up last season.

Couple the two together, and I like Detroit to manage 7 wins, especially at plus-money value. Also, the Lions have the fifth-easiest schedule. They should be able to win some close games.

Given how hard they played last season when clearly out of the playoff picture should give bettors hope that even if they start off poorly this ticket could be cashed.

For a small wager, BACK LIONS OVER 6.5 WINS (+125).

Detroit Lions’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

Detroit is tied with the second-longest odds to win it all. The Bills (+600) are the favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

At +10000, Detroit has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds. The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000.

I would not suggest backing the Lions (+10000) to win the Super Bowl.

Detroit Lions’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Lions make the playoffs: Yes +425 | No -599

The NFC may not be quite at the level of the AFC, but predicting the Lions to make a run is relatively ludicrous. However, I like the foundation they’re building, and they have a solid core.

The +425 payout just isn’t quite enough for me to take a gamble, especially as teams like the Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Eagles will also be making a run for those 3 Wild Card spots.

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Chicago Bears +900 (bet $100 to win $900)
  • Detroit Lions +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • Green Bay Packers -180 (bet $180 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Vikings +270 (bet $100 to win $270)

Detroit’s implied probability of winning the NFC North is 9.09% or 10/1 fractional odds. The Packers and then Vikings are the only threats here, and no one else will likely come too close.

PASS.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5000)

The Lions aren’t expected to have much a chance, and for this team, it’s still a bit earlier to predict Detroit could make a dark-horse run.

I would PASS here and check back in for this roster to have some potential to make a run in a few seasons as WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Williams continue to and also start to find their footing in the NFL.

PASS on the Lions (+5000) to win the NFC.

2022 Tennessee Titans’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

A year ago, the Tennessee Titans entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. After trading WR A.J. Brown this offseason, the Titans aren’t even favored to win the weak AFC South. What a difference an offseason makes.

Below, we look at the Tennessee Titans 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

The Titans lost 13 free agents off of last year’s team and added just 4 — WR Robert Woods, OT Jamarco Jones, CB A.J. Moore and backup RB Trenton Cannon. With a very different looking roster, the Titans are in a rebuild mode after posting the best record in the conference. They couldn’t find a way to keep the band together and it will hurt their chemistry.

The Titans went heavy on offense in the draft, selecting 5 offensive players with their first 6 picks. WR Treylon Burks was taken in the first round to go along with Woods and Julio Jones and Liberty QB Malik Willis fell all the way to them in the third round. Ryan Tannehill still has 2 years left on his deal, so Willis will be given time to make the transition before being thrown into the fire.

Over/Under: 9.5 (O: +115 | U: -140)

This is a tough one because when you look game by game, the Titans have the classic look of 9-8 team. However, when factoring in an Over/Under for either the Titans or Colts, you have to take into account that Houston and Jacksonville have 2 of the weakest rosters in the league. I see that as 4 wins to start your analysis. What that means is for the Titans not to hit the Over, they must go 5-8 in their other 13 games and I have a hard time seeing that happening if Derrick Henry is back and controlling the tempo of games.

Clearly the oddsmakers are favoring the Under, but coach Mike Vrabel‘s team has won 23 games the last 2 seasons and have never had a losing record on his watch. That’s something few coaches entering their 5th year can say.

TAKE THE TITANS AND THE OVER (+115)

Tennessee Titans’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +3000 (bet $100 to win $3,000)

The Titans dominated much of last season. Posting wins over the Chiefs, Bills, Rams and 49ers proved that, when healthy, the Titans can hang with anybody. However, the AFC is stacked and most of the elite teams made themselves better. The Titans didn’t, losing many more players than they signed and trading Brown took a massive piece out of their offense. They may well make it out of the AFC South, but this isn’t a team built for a long playoff run as it is currently constructed. PASS.

Tennessee Titans’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Titans make the playoffs: Yes -110 | No -110

Given the 4 wins I project them to have against the Texans and Jaguars, I have the Titans on a record of 10-7. That could be enough to win the AFC South, but is very much in the realm of locking down a wild-card spot if they don’t fend off the Colts for the division title. Ten-win teams occasionally miss the playoffs, but it isn’t very often.

THE TITANS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (-110)

Odds to win AFC South Division

  • Houston Texans +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Indianapolis Colts +100 (bet $100 to win $100)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Tennessee Titans +135 (bet $100 to win $135)

The Titans have won the AFC South the last two seasons. Many people point to the Colts collapse against the Jaguars in Week 18 as the reason Indy didn’t make the playoffs. While that was the final game of the season, being swept by the Titans is the real reason the Colts were on the outside looking in.

Indianapolis improved itself more than the Titans in the offseason, but the formula for beating the Colts was pounding Henry 25 times a game and swarming the opposing QB with their strong pass rush. Until the Colts prove they can handle the Titans in the trenches, it’s hard to bet against Tennessee holding on their perch atop the AFC South.

TAKE THE TITANS TO WIN THE AFC SOUTH (+135)

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)

Tennessee had all possible advantages in their favor last year in the playoffs, earning a bye and forcing opponents to come into their house to end their dream season — which is what Cincinnati did in Tennessee’s first playoff game. In the AFC, I see the Titans behind Buffalo, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Los Angeles at a minimum and quite possibly Indianapolis, Baltimore, Denver and New England. That’s way too many teams to expect some sort of magical run in January. PASS.

2022 New England Patriots’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the New England Patriots, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The New England Patriots were one of the darlings of the NFL last season, as coach Bill Belichick proved he could win with a rookie QB who wasn’t among the top guys taken and brought the Patriots back to the playoffs.

Below, we look at the New England Patriots 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

Last year, New England broke tradition and spent heavily in free agency to bring in high-end outside talent, especially on defense. The result was that the Patriots had the league’s fourth-ranked defense.

This time around, there were many more losses than gains. The team brought in WR DeVante Parker, CB Terrance Mitchell and RB Ty Montgomery, but lost CB J.C. Jackson, guards Shaquille Mason and Ted Karras, DE Kyle Van Noy, DT Chase Winovich and versatile RB Brandon Bolden. All things considered, not a fair trade.

New England Patriots’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

This is a tough number because the Patriots are facing a daunting schedule that has only one patch where you can envision them stacking up wins, but the team won 10 games last year with rookie QB Mac Jones, who seemed to absorb Bill Belichick‘s scheme better than the rest of the star-studded 2021 QB draft class.

With another offseason to pick up more, the Patriots aren’t worse off than they were coming into last year. I see this team as being a middle-of-the-road 9-8 or 8-9 team, but I’ve learned over the years not to underestimate  Belichick. I’ll take my chances with 9 wins.

TAKE THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AND THE OVER (-115)

New England Patriots’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

What the Patriots accomplished last year was nothing short of miraculous. The other franchises that invested in rookie quarterbacks got little to nothing to show for it in 2021. Jones and the Patriots won 10 games and won some where it was obvious that the scheme and the game plan was the reason.

It should be noted the Patriots made a quick playoff exit, because they were an overachieving team last year that played consistent defense and game-managed offense. That may get them in contention for the playoffs again, but this team isn’t a Super Bowl team. PASS.

New England Patriots’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Patriots make the playoffs: Yes +150 | No -180

Unlike the Bills and Dolphins, the Patriots haven’t done anything to make themselves better this offseason than they were in 2021. Both of those division rivals bolstered their forces and the Jets even made significant improvement with solid drafting that included multiple early picks.

While the Pats are a team capable of finishing 9-8 or 10-7, I lean more toward the 9-8 and that doesn’t get a team into the playoffs as competitive as the AFC is going to be this year. It will take a minimum of 10 wins to make it.

TAKE THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS NOT TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (-170)

Odds to win AFC East Division

  • Buffalo Bills -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Miami Dolphins +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • New England Patriots +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • New York Jets +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

If I was to go against my gut instinct, it would be to place a small wager at +450 and bank that Josh Allen’s reckless style gets him injured and opens up the field for New England and Miami to make a run at the division. Since it hasn’t happened yet and Allen doesn’t have much tread off the tires, that’s a hard premise to justify with any empirical data, so going that route is more like flipping a coin and not making a bet based on hunch more than anything else. PASS.

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

The odds tell it all here. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the betting lines tell you the Patriots should finish third in their division. The odds of making the playoffs are tough when there are only 3 wild card spots available and 1 of them is already accounted for in your own division. Even if the Patriots make the playoffs, they aren’t a team built to come back from double-digit deficits and all it takes is one of those in the playoffs to end a season. PASS.

2022 Miami Dolphins’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Miami Dolphins, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

Few teams have had a more turbulent offseason than the Miami Dolphins, starting with firing of coach Brian Flores and subsequently being sued on charges that the organization and the NFL are racist. In hopes of deflecting the bad publicity, the Dolphins went on an unprecedented spending spree.

Below, we look at the Miami Dolphins 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

The Dolphins didn’t lose anyone in free agency that was indespensable, but what has arrived at South Beach is a call to arms. Heading the list was a blockbuster to trade for and extend the contract of WR Tyreek Hill — the game’s most electrifying receiver. But they weren’t done there.

In a signing spree, Miami added OTs Terron Armstead and Connor Williams, QB Teddy Bridgewater, WR Cedrick Wilson, CB Keion Crossen, RBs Raheem Mostert, Chase Edmonds and Sony Michel and FB Alec Ingold. Rarely has a team addressed so many needs on offense in one offseason.

As a result of making big moves, Miami traded away 5 draft picks, didn’t pick until 101 players were gone and didn’t add anyone who is expected to make an immediate impact. However, with the infusion of veteran talent, it was deemed worth the risk.

Miami Dolphins’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, May 16 at 9:52 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -130 | U: +110)

This is a tough number because, despite turmoil within the organization with accusations of wanting to lose, thanks to a defense that improved greatly as the season progressed, the Dolphins won 9 games — giving them 19 wins over the last 2 seasons.

The 2022 Dolphins are better than either of the teams that won 10 and 9 games, respectively. It seems the oddsmakers don’t believe in Tua Tagovailoa (I’m with them on that), but for a team that made huge moves to get better, winning 9 games again this year seems like less of a stretch than it did a year ago.

TAKE THE MIAMI DOLPHINS AND THE OVER (-130)

Miami Dolphins’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

While the Dolphins look to be a team that will be viewed as a Super Bowl sleeper, they’re a sleeper for a reason. If you were to ask yourself who is better in the AFC than Miami, you would probably list 7 or 8 teams before the Dolphins. That isn’t a coincidence. Miami is on the radar to be a much improved team that can get the job done on both sides of the ball. But they’re just not there yet. PASS.

Miami Dolphins’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Dolphins make the playoffs: Yes +140 | No -170

The conventional wisdom is that Miami is facing too steep a mountain to climb to be a playoff team, but if the Dolphins can split with Buffalo and New England, it will be difficult to deny them 9 wins, despite a brutal schedule in December and January. However, by that time, the Dolphins may look like a completely different team once the new offensive reinforcements have been integrated into the team.

THE MIAMI DOLPHINS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (+140)

Odds to win AFC East Division

  • Buffalo Bills -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Miami Dolphins +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • New England Patriots +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • New York Jets +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

The Dolphins are likely in a battle with the Patriots for second place in the division because Buffalo looks to be locked and loaded for a Super Bowl run. The 4:1 return on investment is nice to see, but the only way the Dolphins provide legitimate competition this season to the Bills is if Tagovailoa steps his game up to a much higher level. He’s good enough to put them in the wild-card discussion, but Josh Allen would likely have to go down for the Dolphins to give Buffalo a run for its money. PASS.

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

As will likely be mentioned for many of the teams viewed as playoff hopefuls, but not championship contenders, the same argument is made — there are just too many good team in the conference to ignore.

Cincinnati made a run last year from the wild card, but the Bengals did so as division champions and had a home game to start the run. Miami likely won’t get that opportunity. PASS.

2022 Buffalo Bills’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Buffalo Bills, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Buffalo Bills have been on the cusp of greatness the last 2 years in winning the AFC East and they have made the playoffs the last 3 seasons. Many believed last year would be the season that ended Buffalo’s Super Bowl drought. We know it wasn’t, but the team has gone all in to win this year and it led to an amazing offseason of signings.

Below, we look at the Buffalo Bills 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

Buffalo already had the personnel to make a Super Bowl run, but doubled down by signing LB Von Miller, DT DaQuan Jones, DT Tim Settle, WR Jamison Crowder, G Rodger Saffold, G Dan Quessenberry and TE O.J. Howard in the offseason to augment the strong core they already have.

Buffalo added more talent in the draft, including CB Kaiir Elam in the first round, RB James Cook in the second and LB Terrel Bernard in the third to provide young new talent to push the starters at their positions and, at a minimum, build more depth.

Buffalo Bills’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, May 16 at 8:19 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 11.5 (O: -130 | U: +110)

Buffalo’s Over/Under ties for the highest in the league, forcing the Bills to win 12 games to hit the Over. It’s hard to take the Over (even though the betting odds suggest they will), but it can be argued their 2 toughest games will come with plenty of preparation.

The Bills open the season at the defending champion Rams and the Bills will have months to prepare for that one. When they host the Green Bay Packers Oct. 30, they will do so coming out their bye week, a luxury the Packers won’t have.

If Buffalo can split those two games, it will take them a long way to hitting the lofty Over total.

TAKE THE BUFFALO BILLS AND THE OVER (-130)

Buffalo Bills’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +600 (bet $100 to win $600)

Buffalo has the lowest odds of any team in the league to win the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay (+700) is the only other team with a number under +1000. That tells you the level of confidence that oddsmakers have that this is Buffalo’s year.

After losing 4 straight Super Bowls from 1990-93, the Bills have never made it back to the Big Game. They have invested heavily to make that happen this year and look to have the horses on both sides of the ball to get the job done.

TAKE THE BUFFALO BILLS TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL (+600)

Buffalo Bills’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Bills make the playoffs: Yes -500 | No +350

The Bills are so locked and loaded to make a deep playoff run, simply making the playoffs is viewed as an afterthought. Josh Allen is playing like a MVP and this should be the year he finally gets acknowledged. That being said, no bet is worth putting up 5 times the amount that you would get back to win. It just doesn’t make sense when you can make more sound investments. PASS.

I never like giving away more than a 2:1 ratio on a bet, but Buffalo may be the exception. While the Patriots are always dangerous and Miami looks like a team on the rise, Buffalo has dominated the division the last 2 years and looks to be more improved this season for a run to the top. The AFC is stacked so it will be a war of attrition to get to the Super Bowl, but this one seems like a much safer bet — even if it results in an investment that most don’t feel comfortable with.

TAKE THE BUFFALO BILLS TO WIN THE AFC EAST (-220)

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +320 (bet $100 to win $320)

There isn’t a lot of return on investment for this one, but the key factor here is Buffalo locking down homefield advantage in the playoffs. If opponents have to come to Orchard Park to take their Super Bowl hopes away from them, it will be a tall order because the weather in Buffalo in January can be brutal and the Bills are much more accustomed to working in those conditions than the other elite teams in the AFC. Keep in mind, Bills fans, you don’t have to win the Super Bowl to win this bet.

TAKE THE BILLS TO WIN THE AFC (+320)

2022 Baltimore Ravens’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Baltimore Ravens, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

Having played most of last season down several key pieces, the Baltimore Ravens and QB Lamar Jackson will look to return to the top of their division after finishing last season 8-9.

Second-round 2020 pick J.K Dobbins, projected to be the team’s starting running back, missed all of last season and Jackson played in just 12 games.

During the offseason, the Ravens traded No. 1 WR Marquise Brown and added S Kyle Hamilton and C Tyler Linderbaum in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Ravens have won 2 of the last 4 AFC North titles and have been to the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons, but they haven’t been to a Super Bowl since the 2012 season when they beat San Francisco.

Below, we look at the Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, May 16 at 8:08 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 9.5 (O: -140 | U: +115)

I would stay away from this value. The Ravens do not have any threat out wide after trading Brown and look to be a ground-heavy team again.

Baltimore did not draft a wide receiver, so the Ravens will be hoping for a huge jump from former first-round pick WR Rashod Bateman. However, one injury to Jackson, and they’re missing this total like they did last season.

If they do manage to be at full strength, then there’s a good chance they do hit double-digit wins, but considering the value on the over here, I’d stay away from Baltimore’s win total.

Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

Baltimore is tied with the 9th shortest odds to win it all. The Buffalo Bills (+600) are the favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

At +2000, Baltimore has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 4.8% or 20/1 fractional odds.

The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000.

Backing the Ravens (+2000) to win the Super Bowl for a 20-to-1 payoff is worth a small wager.

Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Ravens make the playoffs: Yes -130 | No +105

The Ravens are a tough team to gauge, mainly because they’re going to be dependent on a strong defense and a dynamic run game. How opponents can adjust and defend that is the real question.

With a conference that also has the Broncos, Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Colts, and Patriots all likely gunning for those 3 wild-card slots, betting against the Ravens here would make more sense.

In the 2 seasons in which Jackson played more than 12 games, Baltimore was 25-7, having both a top-10 offense and defense in terms of points scored and points allowed.

At -130, I would still PASS with the next section having my favorite Ravens-backing bet.

Odds to win AFC North Division

  • Cleveland Browns +190 (bet $100 to win $190)
  • Baltimore Ravens +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Cincinnati Bengals +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

Baltimore’s implied probability of winning the AFC North is 33.3% or 2/1 fractional odds. The QB Joe Burrow-led Bengals and QB Deshaun Watson-led Browns are the threats here.

Considering the Bengals should regress while the Ravens may still be the best team at full strength in the division, backing the Ravens +200 may be worth the gamble.

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)

I would suggest passing here, mainly because the team that wins the AFC isn’t likely going to come out of the North.

There are just too many elite-level teams that will take each other down for a team to escape with 5 or fewer losses this season.

Baltimore should be lethal enough on the ground and on the defensive side of the ball to make a Super Bowl run, but I wouldn’t bank on them all-out dominating the regular season.

PASS.

2022 Indianapolis Colts’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Indianapolis Colts, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Indianapolis Colts barely missed the playoffs a season ago despite finishing second in the AFC South. The Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7-1) beat out the Colts (9-8) for the last spot in the AFC Playoffs.

During the offseason, the Colts dealt starting QB Carson Wentz and traded for Falcons QB Matt Ryan. The 36-year-old Ryan has made a Super Bowl appearance, has thrown for over 4,000 passing yards 10 times and is 8th alltime with 59,735 passing yards.

The Colts haven’t won the AFC South since 2014. They have been to the playoffs 2 of the last 4 seasons, but haven’t been to Super Bowl since the 2006 season when they beat the Chicago Bears.

Below, we look at the Indianapolis Colts’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

Indianapolis Colts’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, May 16 at 7:27 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 9.5 (O: -135 | U: +110)

The Colts had a solid season a year ago, and they were among the teams that improved the most this offseason.

Ryan still has gas left in the tank, and the team’s offensive line, running back and defense were already among the best in the NFL. They added talent on their line and 2 potential weapons for Ryan in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

The Colts’ schedule is soft. It ranks tied for the 26th most difficult schedule. With 4 games against division opponents that should be easy wins, Indy has a chance to run the table with ease.

Nonetheless, at -135, I still wouldn’t take this bet to back the improved Colts.

Indianapolis Colts’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2000)

Indianapolis is tied with the 9th shortest odds to win it all. The Buffalo Bills (+600) are the favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700).

At +2000, Indianapolis has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 4.8% or 20/1 fractional odds.

The Houston Texans have the longest odds at +20000.

Backing the COLTS (+2000) to win the Super Bowl for a 20-to-1 payoff is worth a small wager.

Indianapolis Colts’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Colts make the playoffs: Yes -160 | No +130

The Colts are going to get a major boost from their division schedule as AFC opponents like the Browns, Bengals, Broncos, and Chargers will also have far more difficult roads to the playoffs.

Again, much like the Colts’ win total, I like these odds for them to make the playoffs, but if there’s any value, it’s to fade Indy.

I wouldn’t suggest that, as on paper, the Colts seem like they should have a Super Bowl-contending roster. There are good ways to back the Ryan-RB Jonathan Taylor combo, just not here.

Odds to win AFC South Division

  • Indianapolis Colts +100 (bet $100 to win $100)
  • Houston Texans +2000 (bet $2000 to win $2,000)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Tennessee Titans +135 (bet $100 to win $135)

Indianapolis’ implied probability of winning the AFC South is 50% or 1/1 fractional odds.

The Titans are the only threat here. The Colts to win the AFC South actually is a solid bet considering how they updated during the offseason while the Titans traded away star WR A.J. Brown.

Bet COLTS +100 for a unit as the best Indy-backing bet.

Odds to win AFC

Odds: +1200 (bet $100 to win $1,200)

While I think the Colts will win their division and expect them to exceed most projections, I don’t like them to win the AFC, especially considering it’s a conference with the QB Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs and the QB Josh Allen-led Bills.

There’s just too much talent, and I’d prefer to back Indy to get hot in the playoffs and make a run for the Super Bowl at +2000.
