– All games Sunday and ET unless noted

The chalk: Buffalo Bills

Who they play: Home vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m.

This could be the easiest pick of the entire season. Not only is Pittsburgh coming off a devastating 24-20 loss to the New York Jets, but they have also decided to move on to rookie QB Kenny Pickett for this showdown.

The last meeting between these teams, a 23-16 victory by the Steelers on opening day last season, has left a bitter taste in the mouths of Bills QB Josh Allen and company. They will want to avenge this loss while also hoping to gain their position back atop the AFC East with a victory and a potential Dolphins loss. Vegas thinks this will be a non-competitive game with the Bills listed as 14-point favorites. I agree and therefore the BUFFALO BILLS ARE MY FAVORITE SURVIVOR PLAY in Week 5.

Off the board: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Who they play: Home vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m.

QB Tom Brady and the Buccaneers looked terrible on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs in a 41-31 loss. With all the devastation left from the remnants of Hurricane Ian, it is easy to see why they were preoccupied. This week will be different.

The Buccaneers got behind early in Week 4. This led them to have to abandon the run game (6 carries for 2 yards). The Falcons’ defense is mediocre at best and the Buccaneers will reassert the run game with RB Leonard Fournette here.

On the other side, TE Kyle Pitts has still not been involved in the game plan for the Atlanta Falcons this season. Their only true weapon to this point, RB Cordarrelle Patterson (leg) is now on IR, and it will be left to rookies WR Drake London and RB Tyler Allgeier to get the offense in motion.

The Tampa Bay defense was embarrassed Sunday. It will show this week what it truly is against a depleted Falcons offense. The line for this one is Buccaneers -8.5 (-110), and this is about right. But do not be surprised if this game gets out of hand in favor of Tampa Bay.

First look: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Dallas Cowboys (3-1) travel to meet the Los Angeles Rams (2-2) Sunday at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Cowboys vs. Rams odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Cowboys have started QB Cooper Rush 3 times since QB Dak Prescott went down with a thumb injury in Week 1, and he’s a perfect 3-for-3 under center. However, Prescott has a doctor’s appointment Tuesday and is pushing to return in Week 5.

The Rams are licking their wounds after a 24-9 beating from the rival San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football in Week 4. QB Matt Stafford was sacked 7 times, and the team went without a touchdown.

The teams last met Sept. 13, 2020, in front of no fans in Los Angeles during the COVID-interrupted season. L.A. won 20-17 that game, and it has won 3 of the last 4 meetings while going 3-1 ATS.

The Over has cashed in 4 of the past 5 meetings in the series, too. This will be the first game between these teams at SoFi Stadium in front of a capacity crowd.

First look: San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s San Francisco 49ers vs. Carolina Panthers Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The San Francisco 49ers (2-2) travel to meet the Carolina Panthers (1-3) Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff from Charlotte is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at 49ers vs. Panthers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The 49ers roughed up the defending champs, winning 24-9 against the visiting Los Angeles Rams Monday night behind a strong defensive effort. San Francisco’s defense recorded 7 sacks and posted a pick-6 by 2nd-year DB Talanoa Hufanga.

The Panthers were on the short end of a 26-16 setback at home against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, falling to 1-2 straight up and against the spread (SU/ATS) in 3 home games. QB Baker Mayfield is on the hot seat after an ice-cold start with his new team, posting just 4 TD passes and 1 TD run across the first 4 outings.

First look: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Atlanta Falcons (2-2) will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Falcons vs. Buccaneers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After dropping their first 2 games of the season, the Falcons evened their record with a 23-20 home victory against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

In what looked like a lackadaisical offensive performance all around, QB Marcus Mariota completed 7 of 19 passes for 139 yards with no TDs and an interception.

Trailing 13-10 after 3 quarters, Atlanta outscored Cleveland 13-7 in the 4th to claim victory in front of their home crowd. The Falcons hope to keep the win streak going as they visit the rival Bucs, who they are tied with atop the NFC South.

Also seeAll Week 5 odds and lines

Tampa Bay is coming off a tough week, dealing with the aftereffects of Hurricane Ian which forced the team to practice in Miami all week, and losing 41-31 to QB Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The game started with a fumbled kick return, which put the Chiefs immediately in scoring position on which they capitalized with a TD and never looked back.

QB Tom Brady did shine on offense though, going 39-for-52 for 385 yards and 3 TDs, but the running game never got going with only 3 total yards the entire game.

Although the Bucs suffered a 2nd consecutive loss, the bright spot for Tampa Bay fans is the team did not give in and continued to try to claw back the entire night against one of the best teams in the NFL.

Falcons vs. Buccaneers head-to-head

This will be the 5th time these teams have faced each other since 2020 and Tampa Bay has dominated the matchup, winning the past 4 games in the series. As a matter of fact, the Buccaneers have won the last 3 contests by at least 2 possessions. Until the last meeting, a Tampa Bay 30-17 victory with an O/U line of 51.0, the rivals played 7 Overs in a row.

The Falcons have not played well against the spread recently in the series. They are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 in Tampa Bay and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 overall meetings. They will need to adjust on the fly with dual-threat RB Cordarrelle Patterson going to the IR with a knee injury.

First look: New York Giants at Green Bay Packers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The New York Giants (3-1) are traveling to London to take on the Green Bay Packers (3-1) Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET (NFL Network) with the Packers designated as the home team. Below, we look at Giants vs. Packers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After barely prevailing on the road at Tampa Bay in Week 3, the Packers again struggled at home Sunday in a 27-24 overtime win against the overmatched New England Patriots.

RB Aaron Jones had a solid game, running for 110 yards on 16 carries. QB Aaron Rodgers showed he still has a connection with TE Robert Tonyan (2 catches, 22 yards, 1 TD). Rodgers also showed his trust that is being built with rookie WR Romeo Doubs (5 catches, 47 yards, 1 TD). This has become important as the Packers are dearly missing WR Davante Adams (now with Las Vegas) in the pass game.

Also seeAll Week 5 odds and lines

With RB Saquon Barkley playing like he did his rookie season, the Giants are rolling right now. Even with WR Kadarius Toney missing time, WR Kenny Golladay doing nothing, and Sterling Shepard (ACL injury) done for the season, the Giants are vying for the NFC East title early in the season.

QB Daniel Jones left Sunday’s 20-12 win over the visiting Chicago Bears in the 3rd quarter with a sprained ankle. When backup QB Tyrod Taylor suffered a concussion in the 4th quarter, Jones re-entered but only dealt with handoffs and lined up at wideout as Barkley took snaps in a “wildcat” formation. If the Giants hope to win against the Packers, Jones needs to be as close to 100% as possible.

Giants vs. Packers head-to-head

These teams have not played often in recent years. Since 2016, the Giants and Packers have battled 3 times during the regular season with the Packers winning all 3 matchups by at least 7 points.

Despite Barkley getting back to form, Rodgers is still the best player in this game. The rushing duo of Jones and RB A.J. Dillon also more than make up what Barkley does for the Giants.

If this game was not in London, it would be a simple play on the Packers. But with this being the first time the Packers have ever played overseas; it is difficult to know how they will manage the travel. Some teams manage it better than others.

The Seattle Seahawks (2-2) visit the New Orleans Saints (1-3) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Seahawks vs. Saints odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After a disappointing Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle QB Geno Smith and company bounced back for a 48-45 victory over the Detroit Lions. Smith threw for 320 yards and 2 TDs as the Seahawks staved off a late-game Lions comeback. RB Rashaad Penny proved to be too much for the Lions defense, rushing the ball 17 times for 151 yards and 2 TDs.

The Seahawks will be looking to put together their 1st winning streak of the season and start building momentum in a NFC West division that has seen no team separate themselves by more than a game.

The Saints will be returning to the United States after losing 28-25 against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL’s 1st international game of the year in London. With QB Jameis Winston out, Andy Dalton got the start. He threw for 236 yards and 1 TD and gave New Orleans a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but K Wil Lutz hit the crossbar twice on the potential game-tying kick.

New Orleans is looking to continue its winning streak against Seattle, winning the last 3 meetings by a combined total of 14 points.

Seahawks vs. Saints head-to-head

This will be the 18th game between the teams, but only the 4th matchup since 2016. New Orleans leads the all-time series 9-8. In the last 3 Saints wins, the Under is 2-1 and New Orleans has only won by 6 points or fewer in each meeting.

This will be the first time the Saints have seen the Seahawks without QB Russell Wilson and the quarterback position will certainly be something to keep an eye on for the Saints as this game gets closer with Winston dealing with a plethora of injuries that could sideline him again.

For the Seahawks, keep an eye on the status of WR Michael Thomas who has been day-to-day battling a toe injury. Rookie WR Chris Olave has been having an Offensive ROY season to start the year and will look to continue that trend.

In their last 7 meetings, the home team is 5-2 against the spread while the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

First look: Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) visit the Buffalo Bills (3-1) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Steelers vs. Bills odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After throwing for 400 yards and coming up short in Week 3 at the Miami Dolphins, QB Josh Allen led the Bills to a 17-point comeback last Sunday in a 23-20 win at the Baltimore Ravens. Allen engineered at 12-play, 77-yard drive to set up K Tyler Bass’ 21-yard, game-winning field goal as time expired.

After the 2-week road swing, the Bills return home with revenge on their minds. Pittsburgh won in Buffalo 23-16 in last season’s opening week.

The Steelers enter this game on a 3-game skid. After winning in overtime at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, they have looked bad, losing their last 3 games – to the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and most recently, the New York Jets.

In Sunday’s 24-20 home loss to the Jets, coach Mike Tomlin decided to make a switch to rookie QB Kenny Pickett for the second half as Pittsburgh trailed 10-6 at halftime. Although he almost led the Steelers to a win – they led 20-10 early in the 4th quarter – the Jets were able to mount another comeback behind returning QB Zach Wilson.

This Week 5 matchup features 2 teams headed in different directions. If the Bills play the way they should, the Steelers need to watch out. It might get ugly.

Steelers vs. Bills head-to-head

The Steelers and Bills are playing for the 4th time in the last 4 seasons. The previous 3 games were decided by 7 or more points and each cashed Under tickets by an average of 8.7 points.

With the Steelers defense able to stop the Bills offense, points have been hard to come by in this rivalry. As mentioned, Pittsburgh won 23-16 in Buffalo last year. The Bills took the previous 2 contests, 26-15 at home in 2020 and 17-10 on the road in 2019.

With LB T.J. Watt missing for Pittsburgh and FS Micah Hyde and CB Tre’Davious White for the Bills, points may be easier to come by in this one.

Make sure to check who will be the QB for Pittsburgh before betting on this game. If Pickett is making his 1st start as a pro against an elite Bills team, you might want to reconsider any Steelers wager you might want to place on this one.

The Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) Monday. Kickoff from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is set for 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at Raiders vs. Chiefs odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

Raiders at Chiefs head-to-head

Recent history has not been kind to the Raiders in this long-standing rivalry. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 70-54-2 dating back to 1960, but more importantly, the Chiefs are 7-1 against the Raiders since Mahomes took over as the Chiefs’ starting QB in 2018. The Raiders’ lone victory against the Mahomes-led Chiefs came in 2020.

This rivalry was tough for the Raiders last season. The Chiefs beat them twice by a combined score of 89-23, covering both spreads by a combined 53.5 points. The Chiefs are 5-3 ATS and the Over is 5-3 vs. the Raiders since 2018.

Mahomes has seen plenty of success against the Raiders. In 8 games he has thrown for 22 TDs and just 3 INTs and averages 318.3 passing yards per game, and he’s added another 2 TDs on the ground. Carr, meanwhile, has thrown for 14 TDs and 10 INTs during that 4-year span, averaging 255 yards passing per game.
