Dynamic Washington WR Ja’Lynn Polk and Browns a strong fit in 2024 NFL draft

Are the Browns destined for a playmaking WR in the draft?

Washington wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk was given to the Cleveland Browns in a recent mock draft. Come the 2024 NFL draft, this pairing could be more than just good on paper.

In Draft Wire’s most recent two-round mock, Polk was once again sent to the Browns.

Outside of Amari Cooper a year ago, the rest of the Browns’ wide receiver room underachieved. While there are still high hopes for the likes of Cedric Tillman and Elijah Moore, there is no doubt that the backend of that room needs to be overhauled.

After transferring to Washington from Texas Tech, Polk had a career year for the National Champion runner-up Huskies. He racked up a massive 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns on 69 catches in 2023, sharing targets with both Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan.

As the Senior Bowl wraps up this weekend, the 2024 NFL draft season is underway with the NFL Scouting Combine up next at the end of the month. In need of another wide receiver in the room, Polk could be a godsend in Cleveland.

Browns land dynamic playmaker Xavier Legette in DraftWire’s latest 2024 NFL mock draft

Landing Legette would be fantastic for Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns need a playmaker on offense, and Xavier Legette could be their answer.

One of the biggest tasks facing Andrew Berry this offseason is adding more explosive playmakers to the passing game. Though they could hit the trade market again there is a good chance they grab one in the draft as this year’s class is loaded at the position. In Jeff Risdon’s latest Browns mock draft for DraftWire, he has Cleveland adding the dynamic pass catcher Xavier Legette.

Legette is an interesting prospect to try and place due to only having one year of production in college at South Carolina. He has rare physical gifts with great size at 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds. With great size, he also adds elite speed creating a combination of the two you do not see often.

The way he plays the game reminds you of DK Metcalf and if an NFL team can develop him into anywhere near what Metcalf is it would be a great pick. There is a good chance that he doesn’t make it to the Browns’ first pick but if he does it would be a home run selection.

2024 NFL draft: Updated Cleveland Browns 7-round mock draft

2024 NFL draft: Updated Cleveland Browns 7-round mock draft ahead of Senior Bowl week

The Cleveland Browns had a very interesting 2023 campaign. Despite rampant injuries across the offense, Kevin Stefanski’s team finished an impressive 11-6 and earned the top wild card berth in the AFC.

The playoff run ended quickly with a blowout loss in Houston, one that shone the spotlight on some of the Browns’ biggest offseason needs. GM Andrew Berry won’t get to address any of those needs until the second round of the 2024 NFL draft since the Browns already traded away their first-round pick to Houston as part of the Deshaun Watson deal. Cleveland has just two selections in the first four rounds.

Where might Berry and the Browns look in the draft? Here’s one early pathway they can explore.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: QBs at the top, WRs at the bottom

Vikings Wire columnist Saivion Mixson gives his full first-round mock draft following the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

With the Divisional round of the playoffs in the books, we’re inching closer to the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season. We’re also closer to the beginning of the 2024 NFL draft and all the wonder that comes with it.

The possibilities are endless for the Bears and their relatively new regime, as they hold two top-ten selections, including the number-one overall pick, thanks to the Carolina Panthers.

Outside of that, the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals are two spots to watch in the top five where chaos can ensue, just as it did last season for the Houston Texans.

How do the Chargers go about their draft with a brand-new coach? After disappointing seasons, where do the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings go in the first round?

We do our best to answer these questions in this week’s newest Vikings Wire mock draft.

How did the Lions and the NFC North fare in Mel Kiper’s first mock draft?

It is mock draft season and we are looking at how things shaped out with all five picks impacting the NFC North, especially the Lions.

In most years, by the end of January the Packers are the only team remaining while the rest of the division is looking towards the draft. In the words of Michael Scott though, how the turn tables.

The Detroit Lions are facing off against the San Francisco 49ers for a birth in the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the rest of the division is reading Mel Kiper’s mock draft, we figured we would too.

There are a total of five picks made within the division, and the Bears are the only team with multiple. With the teams drafting all over the board in round one in terms of draft capital, too. Here are those picks and how they impact the division.

Browns land explosive WR, new safety in DraftWire’s latest 2024 NFL mock draft

The Browns land a new playmaker in this mock draft…

The Cleveland Browns have needs in the secondary and at wide receiver, which is why one 2024 NFL mock draft slotted Washington’s Ja’Lynn Polk and Georgia’s Javon Bullard to them.

In DraftWire’s latest mock draft written by Curt Popejoy, the dynamic Washington receiver landed with the Browns with the 55th overall pick in the draft. They then got the Georgia safety in the third round.

Polk broke out with the Huskies this year, amassing 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns. He is a potential first round pick in a deep class of wide receivers. So there is a chance that he could slip to the Browns.

Bullard experienced a nice season with the Bulldogs as well, racking up 56 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two interceptions.

However, with all of Juan Thornhill, Grant Delpit, and Ronnie Hickman under contract for the future, a safety on Day 2 of the draft is not a likely option for the Browns to pursue.
