Buffalo Bills vs Los Angeles Rams Game Preview

Why Buffalo Bills Will Win

For all of the amazing things the Rams might have been able to do last season, they weren’t all that great at controlling high-octane passing games. They were able to bend enough without breaking, but they weren’t exactly air tight on this downs. Now they get to deal with a Buffalo offense that has the backs – and the quarterback – to run, but will spread the ball around even more.

New Buffalo offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey isn’t going to mess with what worked. Let Josh Allen keep the pressure on the Ram corners and don’t be afraid of their ability to force takeaways.

Week 1 CFN NFL Expert Picks

Why Los Angeles Rams Will Win

Is the Buffalo offensive line good enough to hold up?

The overall stats were just fine, and the running game found a good groove over the second half of last year, but the interior could be a wee bit of a concern with what’s coming from the Ram interior.

Yes, Allen will throw and keep up with Matthew Stafford and the Ram passing game, but the Buffalo offense feeds off the running game as a base. Everyone does, but the team was 0-4 last season when rushing for fewer than 100 yards. The Rams didn’t allow more than 100 yards on the ground in 13 games going 11-2 in them.

Week 1 NFL Schedule, Predictions, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

Buffalo is everyone’s darling going into the season after the wild way last year ended, but the Rams still have the parts and the firepower to bother a Buffalo secondary that was great overall statistically mostly because it didn’t deal with a slew of great quarterbacks.

Expect a back-and-forth shootout with the defending champs showing they’re not just going to rest on 2021. Catch the Rams in a few weeks when injuries hit – for now, the starting 22 is healthy and about to make an early statement.

NFL Letdown Games for Every Team

What are the potential letdown games for every NFL team? They’re the battles that should be a problem.

What games are the ones each NFL team has to look out for? It’s a LONG season with plenty of lulls, so which games are set up to be a letdown moment for every team?

Predicting each outcome takes into account location, scheduling fatigue, matchup intensity, and much more. These are the games – including the sandwich battles between two giant opponents – that each team should probably win, but might have issues.

Rams rookie RB Kyren Williams has surgery on broken foot

Los Angeles Rams fifth-round pick Kyren Williams recently had surgery on a broken foot he suffered in practice

Los Angeles Rams rookie running back Kyren Williams had surgery to repair a broken foot suffered in practice recently, head coach Sean McVay told the media Tuesday (via Rams Wire’s Cameron DaSilva).

Williams, a fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame, is expected to return during training camp.

The Rams already have a talented offensive backfield, headlined by Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson, but the departure of Sony Michel could give Williams an opportunity to carve out a role in his first NFL season once he’s back to full strength.

Traditionally and statistically, Day 3 of the NFL Draft is a total wasteland. You’re far, far better packaging your picks to move up into the top three rounds of a future draft – the odds of getting a consistently decent starter are shockingly small.

But every team thinks it can make magic out of the Day 3 mess of prospects, and it’s worth a shot to dumb-luck into a possible mainstay. What are the remaining needs that need to be filled for each team? Here are every team’s picks so far with the possibilities of who they could get.

Of course this all blows up once the trades start flying, but the idea is to give a rough snapshot of what each team might be able to do.

TEAM NEEDS

Linebacker

The Rams lost a key play-maker in Cory Littleton, who signed with the Raiders earlier this offseason. Micah Kiser, Kenny Young and Travin Howard will all be fighting for a starting job, but adding a premiere linebacker who has proven to do it all should be a priority.

Offensive Line

The interior part of the line is made up of David Edwards, Austin Blythe, Austin Corbett, Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen. While they will all be fighting for starting jobs, the Rams could benefit from a surefire starter. A tackle could be prioritized, as well. Rather than hanging up the cleats, 38-year old Andrew Whitworth signed a three-year deal. There’s still the possibility of Whitworth retiring after this upcoming season, so planning to find his successor could be near the top of the to-do list.

Edge Rusher

In 2019, the Rams only had two players in double-figures for sacks, and three players over five sacks for the season. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald led the team in sacks by no surprise, and edge rushers Dante Fowler and Clay Matthews were the next two in the category. The Rams added Leonard Floyd, and they also have Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Samson Ebukam on the roster, but it’ll be hard to replicate Fowler and Matthews’ production from last season.

Wide Receiver

With the loss of Brandin Cooks, who was traded to the Texans, the Rams could use another wide receiver to stretch the field and draw defenders away from the box to join Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.
