Bleacher Report: Way-Too-Early predictions for 2020-21 Transfer Portal

Bleacher Reports’ Tyler Brooke has come out with his list of potential transfer portal players. On that list is wide receiver Kennedy Lewis.

The transfer portal has been a hot button topic since it was introduced 2018. Players can enter the transfer portal much like professional athletes enter free agency, with the new proposed rule for transfers likely will lead to more players entering the portal in the future.

Over the last couple of years since the introduction has seen some big name players make the move. Players like Jalen Hurts who left Alabama to take the vacant quarterback spot when Kyler Murray left for the NFL. Justin Fields also used the portal to head to Ohio State to play immediately rather than waiting on Jake Fromm to leave for the NFL or graduate.

B/R writer Tyler Brooke has come with an early prediction for several names that could be looking to make the jump into the transfer portal. One name with Texas ties is wide receiver Kennedy Lewis. Lewis recently made headlines as he was temporarily suspended by the team. His name has really been lost in the shuffle at the position.

With the losses of Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay to the NFL, the team will have holes to fill at the position. Lewis will be entering his third season on the forty acres and really hasn’t been a name tied to the receiver battle. Jake Smith, Brennan Eagles and Joshua Moore are the top names that don’t include the upcoming class.

It would make sense for Lewis to look to leave the program after the season if he doesn’t find a way to get on the field for Tom Herman and new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.
