2021 NBA Mock Draft: Introducing high school, international prospects

With the NBA trade deadline approaching, there may be some swaps of picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, which is considered to be a strong class.

Picks: 1 – 5 | Picks: 6 – 10 | Picks: 11 – 15 | Picks: 16 – 20 | Picks: 21 – 30 | Picks: 31 – 50 |

6. Brandon Boston Jr., Kentucky (Committed)

Wing, 6-foot-7, 18 years old, Sierra Canyon (California)

BJ Boston, like Williams, is currently playing alongside LeBron James Jr. and Zaire Wade at Sierra Canyon. The program is currently No. 2 overall in the nation on the latest MaxPreps computer rankings. Boston is more than capable of creating his own shot, which will help him shine when playing at Kentucky. The senior wing recently exploded for a huge dunk over Alex Antetokounmpo, the youngest brother of the reigning NBA MVP, during the Hoophall Tournament. He is also an advanced playmaker for someone his size and should be evaluated as a viable player on both offense and defense.

7. Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga (Committed)

Guard, 6-foot-4, 18 years old, Minnehaha Academy (Minnesota)

Jalen Suggs averaged 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game on the AAU circuit for Grassroots Sizzle. The guard also showcased some of his elite skills for Team USA during the U19 World Cup. He flashed 3-and-D potential, averaging 1.3 three-pointers and 2.4 steals per game. His high school team in Minnesota currently ranks No. 9 in the nation, per MaxPreps. Suggs brags an impressive court awareness and is well worth monitoring as a potential Top-10 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. His development under Mark Few at Gonzaga can help secure him a spot early when he eventually makes the jump to the pros.

8. Jalen Johnson, Duke (Committed)

Forward, 6-foot-8, 18 years old

Jalen Johnson was dominant for Phenom University on the AAU circuit in 2019, averaging team-high marks in points (17.0 points), rebounds (9.2) and blocks (1.6) per game. As noted by Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman, he also averaged 5.8 assists per game at 17 EYBL and Peach Jam games. But he has struggled as a shooter and will not be able to show improvement after his recent decision to leave IMG Academy. However, the former Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year will enter his freshman season at Duke with tons of hype once he sees the floor again.

9. Terrence Clarke, Kentucky (Committed)

Wing, 6-foot-7, 18 years old, Brewster Academy (New Hampshire)

Terrence Clarke is a bit older for his class as he will turn nineteen before his freshman season at Kentucky. The talent is there as the wing averaged 17.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for Expressions Elite on his AAU team in Maryland. He has already participated at the NBPA Top 100 Camp (2018 and 2019), Pangos All-American Camp (2019), CP3 Elite Guard Camp (2019) and the Nike Skills Academy (2019). Clarke is the highest-rated recruit for Kentucky, which have the highest-rated recruiting class in the NCAA.

10. Greg Brown, Uncommitted

Forward, 6-foot-9, 18 years old, Vandegrift High School (Texas)

Greg Brown averaged 20.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game on the AAU circuit in 2019 for the Texas Titans. Brown also had the second-best Player Efficiency Rating (36.0 PER) as well as the second-most points per game (20.2 PPG) among all the participants in the 17U adidas Gold Gauntlet in 2018-19. These days, Brown is pulling down 13.4 rebounds per game, which is fifth-best in Texas. He is a highlight-reel worthy dunker, too, which can help his fame among more casual fans as he continues to throw down on bigger stages. He has not yet made an NCAA decision but is currently ranked as the No. 1 power forward recruit in the nation, per 247 Sports.
