The Eagles struggled in their secondary during the 2019 NFL season. Jones can come in and immediately contribute to a team that ranked 15th in points allowed, 19th in passing yards allowed and 21st in touchdowns allowed.
Malcolm Jenkins will enter the season at the age of 32 and will be 33 by seasons end. Rodney McLeod is a free agent, it is very possible that he won’t be brought back in 2020. Jones would allow Jenkins to play as the single high safety and allow Jones to roam around and make plays.
