Enunwa blasts NFL for testing
Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa thinks the NFL’s priorities are not correct.
With the beginning of training camp less than a month away, the NFL is going through the process of preparing for the 2020 season. Many of us are probably currently thinking a lot of that has to do with concerns about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Most likely because of that, Enunwa was not happy when he got a reminder for drug testing last week.
“Just got the NFLPA reminder about drug testing this fall,” Enunwa wrote on said media. “Boy, the NFL sure did hold on tight to testing for weed but spent very little time making sure players were taking care of their mental health during this time.”
Previous Enunwa has spoken up when he comes to promoting mental health awareness as well. He recently held a live Q&A session about mental health on the official NFL Players Association Twitter account and told ESPN in May that he wants to become a sports-performance therapist once his playing days come to an end. Certainly a just cause, and Enunwa is definitely shedding some light on some below the surface concerns for NFL players this fall.
