In case you missed it, Ohio State right guard Wyatt Davis has decided to opt out of whatever football season comes to pass in the Big Ten and will instead prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. He announced his intentions Friday through Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel.

And while the news was and quotes from Davis were first heard through a national source, he later shared a heartfelt statement on his Twitter profile for all of Buckeye Nation to read.

In the statement, Davis thanks professors, coaches, players, and fans for everything that shaped him over the last three years in the scarlet and gray. It’s clear the decision was not an easy one, but he is now ready to chase his childhood dream of playing in the NFL.

You can view Davis’ complete statement below thanks to the wonders of the Twitterverse.

As always, we wish Davis well because — well, once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye.
