WATCH: Urban Meyer smitten by crystal national title football on Big Noon Kickoff

Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer likes him some football-shaped crystal. Watch as he is drawn to the Coaches Trophy on the FOX set.

If you’ve followed former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer’s career, you know he has an affinity for crystal. But not the kind you likely think of that goes with dinnerware and fancy home furnishings, but of the national title variety.

While the College Football Playoff trophy was a shiny, new gold design, the Coaches’ Trophy for all three titles won at Florida and Ohio State were the famed crystal-shaped footballs we’ve grown accustomed to.

So it should be no surprise then that Myer was drawn to the crystal football on the set of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff set Saturday. As the show came back from a break, Meyer was not seated in his usual spot on the right end of the studio desk. But no worries, the camera soon found him cradling that crystal football as he carefully walked it back up to the set.

“Like a magnet.” tweeted Meyer afterward. Watch the scene below.

Yes, some habits die hard is seems — especially those that involve high-end crystal and high-end performance on the football field.
