Texas received a welcomed addition to their 2020 recruiting class when four-star cornerback Jahdae Barron was released from his national letter of intent with Baylor.
After the Bears head coach Matt Rhule departed to the National Football League, Barron didn’t feel a strong enough connection with the incoming coaching staff. During his Instagram Live post regarding his change of heart, he stated that he’s “always been a Longhorn since I was a kid.”
Due to COVID-19, many incoming recruits haven’t had a chance to become fully accustomed to their new program yet. However, Barron is working his tail off to prepare for the upcoming season.
On Friday, former Green Bay Packer Bernard Blake shared a video on Twitter of Barron working through footwork and speed drills.

The 5-11, 175-pound corner has some quick feet. He’s the No. 9 overall rated cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class and a top 20 overall player in the state according to 247Sports.
Barron also received offers from other Big 12 schools such as Iowa State, TCU, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
