Updated Heisman trophy race odds no longer favor Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud

Stroud is no longer atop the Heisman odds. Can he get back there? #GoBucks

Ohio State football quarterback C.J. Stroud has been among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy since before the season started, and for good reason. He has one whale of a 2021 campaign and was thought to be in position to be even better during his second year running the offense for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes.

And so far, that’s been the case. Stroud leads the country in Total QBR and is among the leaders in several other passing categories. He’s been so good that throwing for 354 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.8% of his passes vs. Penn State was considered a “poor showing” by many.

Stroud has been atop the Heisman odds from very early in the season, but that all changed with the latest odds from Tipico. Instead of Stroud now leading the race, another player has now jumped to the top.

Here’s the latest look at the updated Heisman odds and each candidate’s performance after Week 9.
